About Jenna White

My husband and I are both psychotherapists. We have a dog named Maybe and 2 cats named Puck and Pickle (the animals stay upstairs, outside of your apartment). We are also both creative writers. Matt is a poet, and I write for theater projects.

We both love to travel and have had lots of experience travelling around the world. I've been to over 30 countries, and always love meeting people from other parts of the world. For years I hosted international foreign students for extended home-stay experiences. I now have friends all over the world (S. Korea, Brazil, Columbia, Spain, Turkey, Germany, Switzerland, etc).

We have a huge family that lives in the surrounding Chicagoland area. We both grew up in and around Chicago and are happy to recommend the best spots.

great place

  • 5 of 5

Stayed here for a week in Oct. The apt was very clean, quiet, safe, good location for local shopping, easy access to Loop, kitchen well stocked with essentials. One morning it rained and an umbrella was placed on my doorstep. Does not get better than this. Can recommend this place . Will stay here again if go back to Chicago.

Best stay ever.

  • 5 of 5

Best stay yet while in Chicago. Very close to a super market, train station within walking distance, took the train into city, very safe and quiet neighborhood, everyone there was friendly. We will be staying here from now on. Very satisfying, very clean. Words cannot describe how amazing our stay was for spring break.

Cozy and convenient

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay here. It's in a quiet suburb, but close to downtown Forest Park, and it's easy to get to the train and downtown Chicago from here as well. It's also really cutely decorated. Perfect size for two people, and Jenna and Matt were great hosts :)

Home away from home

  • 4 of 5

I recommend this place for anyone who wants to experience the whole Chicago and suburb experience. Located in Forest Park, IL, it is about an half hour trip away from downtown by car or train. With a garage available to park the car, I was able to use the blue line CTA train to head into the city daily. It was a 15 minute walk to the train. If I was to drive, I-290 was one mile away and easy to find off of Harlem Ave. The neighborhood was quiet, safe and typical suburb neighborhood for a major city. Roosevelt Ave. is a major road that had every convienance and store located close by. Ultra Foods was a supermarket I used for shopping for food and was 200 yards away walking distance. Walmart was one mile away. Fast food, family dining, clothing shops and nick nack shops were all on Roosevelt Ave. The roads were in good shape and laid out east west, north south. Rush hour was tricky with heavy traffic otherwise, it was easy going. If you are into buses, you can catch one on Roosevelt Ave. Just get a CTA schedule located at the train station. All the routes are located on it for both buses and trains.

The house itself was clean and charming. We stayed in the basement and the landlords were upstairs. If I needed anything, they were available to help or assist but I did not and they did not pry or bother us. I liked that privacy. We had our own entrance and locks so we were able to come and go without bother. There was a backyard with a firepit if we wanted to enjoy a small outdoor fire and they had a charcoal grill which we used to grill steaks one day. I was pleasantly surprized when I sat out one morning and saw in turn, robins, sparrows, turtle doves, blue jays and a cardinal come into the yard and feed. Made me feel at home. They had a washer and dryer for use and for me that was huge. I was able to pack light with clothes and was able to wash half way through the trip. And at the end of the stay, I laundied everything and came home with clean clothes. WiFi was available and cable tv with a nice flat screen tv was available. There was two bedrooms with a queen in the master and a full in the second room which were comfortable. Both bedrooms had walkin closets for hanging clothes and each room had dressers so you can unpack. The apartment was full furnished. The kitchen, also, was fully furnished. The stove was gas. Garbage bags, papertowels, toilet paper, plastic sandwich bags and ziplock bags were furnished. There was one bathroom.
