Overview

Photos and Description of this 5 bedroom holiday home in Chestertown - Schottland Home

This home is now rented until May 23, 2017

My home will rent for $646 per night. Price negotiable for long term rentals.

The home has an incredible view of the Chester River. There is a dock, but the lift is not available for renters. However, there is plenty of room and a piling for your boat. There is a great, newly redone, screened in porch off the master BR and living room. Additionally there is a great room with kitchen, TV area and dining room. There is also a powder room just off the TV area. In the Master BR area there are 2 separate full baths and a walk in closet. Upstairs there are two BRs with 2 twins in each and these share one full bath. Also upstairs there is a large separate BR with a King bed and full bath (bath tub with a shower spray; you can't stand up and take a shower because of a slanted wall.

A one car garage is available.

There is a lovely meandering driveway leading to my home on the Chester River. There is a wonderful screened porch which overlooks a beautiful lawn and the dock. Guests should also bring their bikes. Kent County roads are built wide to handle farm machinery. Many have bike lanes. Others are lightly traveled and popular with cyclists.

Nearby is the village of Rock Hall and Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge. You can rent crabbing boats by the bridge near the entrance. Lots of hiking trails. It is home to some of the few remaining Delmarva Fox Squirrels. Rock Hall has several lively waterfront bars.

Chestertown hosts a fabulous weekend farmer's market. Artisan bread at Evergrain Bread Company is a must or if you need a night out there are several charming restaurants.

Again, the view is just wonderful!!

What makes this house unique

Living in Chestertown is a joy! There are many very good restaurants in town as well as in neighboring areas. Having Washington College in C-Town affords you the opportunity to partake in many cultural events, etc.

When you are ready for a little road trip, Annapolis is only about 45 minutes away and Baltimore is about an hour. These cities offer multitudes of activities!

The Spring, Summer and Falls are especially spectacular. If you like the water, golf, cycling, etc., you can not do better than Chestertown.

Having grown up there, I can be a wealth of knowledge to make your stay very special.

Truly Gorgeous

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time in this "Gorgeous" is correct house. My 2 year old granddaughter learned to say the word"amazing" because we kept going from one room to another saying "amazing" . Beautiful house, very comfortable, the grounds are beautiful, very convenient location to shopping or whatever you need. The pictures don't show nearly how spectacular the woodwork and furnishings are.

We went a bit early in the season and most rental places were not up and running yet. Cell phone service is non existent unless you have Sprint which at the beginning was annoying but by the second day became one of the best parts of our get away, but it made it a bit difficult for us to communicate with the owner and his local agent other than emails to which he never replied, but we have T-Mobile which apparently doesn't serve the area.

Thank you.

Chestertown home

  • 5 of 5

This was our first time using VRBO and we were so pleased. This home was warm and comfortable, the kitchen was more then adequate and the rooms and beds were comfortable.. The view was gorgeous and there was a little sand beach that the kids absolutely loved. The owner could not have been more accommodating. Overall a great place to stay.

What a dream!

  • 5 of 5

Our family, consisting of 6 adults and two small children, thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful home. Waking up and looking out at the Chester river really sets the mood for a relaxing day. Our kids loved playing outside on the private sandy beach. It was also nice to be so close to downtown for all the restaurants and farmers market activities. Thank you for letting us enjoy your amazing home!
