Situated in Northern Columbia County, Tanglewood is 35 minutes away, Saratoga is 45 minutes and the village of Chatham is only 20 minutes.

The lake has great fishing and there are two kayaks and a dingy included with the rental. Nearby are two choices for golf, Old Kinderhook Golf Course and Winding River.

Spectacular stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a wonderful time here with family and friends in late September. Pictures can't really capture how the lake views make everything that much more beautiful. The home was spotlessly clean and very comfortably accommodated our group. All of Lauren's thoughtful touches, including a welcome basket of wine and goodies, made our stay perfectly relaxing and memorable. Thank you, Lauren! We're dreaming of when we can return.

An Amazing Getaway!

  • 5 of 5

We absolutely loved this property! If you need a getaway with amazing views, lots of room and steps from the lake, this is the place. Four generations of family vacationed at this lovely lakefront home. The elevator was so needed and much appreciated by my 85 year old grandmother. There was enough room for us to move about the house without being on top of one another. The house had every amenity that you could possibly need and was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. The owner goes above and beyond to please the guests. We found wonderful things to do in the area that was fun and family friendly. We would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing time. Absolutely loved the house, the location and Lauren was very accommodating and a joy to work with.

Beautiful home on a lovely lake

  • 5 of 5

We spent two weeks enjoying this lovely home with our son and another couple and their son. The house was awesome! The main floor is spacious, comfortable and beautifully decorated. The kitchen is large and functional and leads right onto the deck, which has a gorgeous view of the the lake. The screened in porch is the perfect place to eat dinner together or play on rainy days. The bedrooms all had access to the balcony also overlooking the lake. The dock allows for access to kayaks and row boat. The basement has a full bar and, a card table, and a piano, which make it a fun place to hang out in the evening.

Lauren was easy to get in touch and incredibly helpful both before and during our stay. The house was full of thoughtful touches, like towels ready right by the access to the lake and a first aid/toiletry kit on the bedroom floor.

This a uniquely lovely house in a great area. There are a couple of great lake beaches nearby and our city kids loved visiting all the farms in the area.

We enjoyed every minute of the time we spent in this lovely lake house. The moment we walked in the door, we felt welcomed. It is immaculately clean, warm and inviting. Lauren had fresh flowers and a lovely little basket with local wines and snacks waiting for us. She knew we had a two year old little boy with us, so she put a few items out for him to enjoy, which was so very thoughtful. The view of the lake is beautiful! We loved eating our meals on the screened porch and enjoying our wine sitting on the deck in the evenings. The kitchen is large and well equipped, which was very much appreciated, as we are a family of good cooks! The beds are very comfortable and the bathrooms have nice linens. Bottom line...we highly recommend renting this wonderful lake house.

Perfect vacation home for our extended family

  • 5 of 5

We rented this home as a get away even though we live nearby. Our goal was to be able to spend a week at a lake with our ten year old grandson, be "away" from work, and still be close enough where family could come see us after their work day, or our parents in their 80's would come during the day for a meal and enjoy the view. This home was perfect. Simply gorgeous and so well designed to be able to take full advantage of the views of the lake. Lauren is a gracious and communicative host, completely and thoroughly answering all of my questions about the house and lake via emails in the days leading up to our rental. The house itself is wonderful. Well appointed and spacious and comfortable. Everything (appliances, washer/dryer) is top notch, and the little things to make a rental easy were all thought of, such as plentiful pots, pans, utensils etc. We rent fairly frequently through VRBO and Home Away and this is the nicest and most well stocked home we have rented.

We enjoyed the lake view every day, from either the spacious deck or the screened porch that also has a lake view. The great room which is stocked with books was our most well loved room for comfortable relaxing as well. The beds were extremely comfortable, the house was immaculate, the internet worked great. We had wonderful meals together with everything we needed right at hand...terrific grill as well. The bunk beds were a hit with our ten year old grandson, and we played rock band just about every day for a lot of laughs! We took the two kayaks out every day...easy lake to navigate even for novices....we appreciated the many life vests that were available for use. As another reviewer remarked, the lake can be weedy but this in no way reflects the homeowners care of her property. We often took the kayaks out a little ten minute jaunt to "One Tree Island" where you can tie up the kayaks and swim in a less weedy part of the lake ( the little island is in the middle of the lake), but we did also swim right at the house. The owner was thoughtful in leaving binoculars, which we used every day to watch birds and the wildlife in and around the lake. Some visiting turtles (mama and babies) everyday sunning themselves on a log in the lake near the house were great fun to watch!

We went into the local town one night....but mostly stayed right at the house, no one wanted to leave! Our grown daughters are already talking about making this our annual family get together rental!
