Well-equipped apartment in fabulous mountain holiday resort. High up above the fog level, the village is sunny all year round. The apartment is very close to the ski tracks, ski lifts and sledge runs. In winter you can ski down to it. Just minutes from lovely mountain footpaths, a golf course and breathtaking mountain bike trails, the apartment is also ideal for a spring break or a summer holiday. In autumn the whole area is ablaze with beautiful shades of red, orange and gold. You can walk in the forest just metres from the house. In the evening relax in front of a log fire, take a sauna or play table tennis.

Winter Sports: Klosters has everything you would expect from one of Europe's top alpine resorts and it's all right on our doorstep. The Selfranga ski lift is 5 minutes walk, the main cable car to the Gotscha-Parsenn ski area is 10-15 minutes walk down hill or you can take the free local ski-bus just around the corner. After a long day's skiing you don't have to trek back up to the apartment - you can either catch the bus back up the hill or you can ski right down to the bus stop. Ice skating, ice hockey & curling are 15 minutes walk away at the sports centre together with the start of the horse-driven sledge route. The main cross-country loop is 10 minutes walk away at the bottom of the hill. The Gotschna cable car also takes you to the start of a super sledge run, and yes, we provide sledges too! If you need to relax after a days skiing you can either use the sauna in the basement or soak those aching muscles in one of the hotel spa pools (4 of which are open to the public).

Summer Sports: The apartment is close to Klosters’ 9 hole golf course, which affords a wonderful experience not least because of the magnificent setting. If on the other hand you don't want to spoil a good walk, Klosters really is the perfect place to be. The apartment is literally metres from the hiking trail to Davos and trails in all directions are only a few minutes away. You can choose from gentle strolls to serious mountain hiking. The gentle strolls aren't confined to the valley as the Gotschna cable car is open in the summer and gives access to many easy trails with glorious views. For mountain bikers Klosters is an absolute paradise. The Swiss Bike Masters trail is 5 minutes away plus numerous trails in all directions up into the hills. The apartment has a variety of maps and guide books of walking and biking trails. There is also superb white water nearby, grades IV to VI in Klosters (strictly for pros) or through the Vereina tunnel for grades I to VI on the river Inn.

Those Little Red Trains: Klosters is a great place for exploring the eastern mountains and valleys of Switzerland and there really is no better way than travelling on the Rhaetische Bahn railway. Klosters station, which is 15 minutes walk from the apartment, is a junction with trains running in three directions. You can take a short trip to Davos and walk back over the mountains, or go through the Vereina tunnel to St Moritz or Scuol which has beautiful thermal baths. The Vereina tunnel also has a car-ferry which is great if you want to hop over to St Moritz with your car. If you want something a bit more special, you can take the train through the tunnel and over the world famous, and simply stunning, Bernina Pass line down to Tirano in northern Italy...and of course, being Switzerland there are plenty of trains so you won't have a problem getting back again on the same day. You can go the whole hog and reserve places in the observation car. This route is an unforgettable experience in summer or winter.

  • The main bedroom has an en suite bathroom and double bed. It has access to the veranda and garden. The second bedroom has two pairs of solid wooden bunks (i.e. 4 single beds) built specially for the apartment by a local carpenter. None of your squeaky old bunk beds here! There is also a double sofa bed in the lounge area.

The living room has a real log fire, a large wall-mounted flat screen TV and surround-sound stereo. We provide a selection of CDs and DVDs as well as cable TV. Use of the shared sauna, table-tennis table, heated ski room and underground parking space is included in the price. In keeping with our other property in the west of Switzerland (#26043) the apartment is well stocked with guidebooks and maps of all the best local walks, hiking and biking trails.

The Perfect New Years Holiday

Our family of 5: 2 parents,2 teen aged boys, and a 9 year old girl stayed in the Goode's clean and comfortable apartment over New Years.

For us, it was the perfect set up. There was space for family time-the large living/dining room with 2 big couches and fireplace, plus up to date video and television set up, and there was private space-2 bathrooms, and the master bedroom not adjoining the kid's bunkroom.The apartment was spotless, and the furnishings comfortable.The linens and towels provided were excellent quality, and more than we needed.The use of the laundry facilities was a big plus as well.

There was many books, dvds, and tourist info in the apartment.Our boys were happy that the televison had so many channels.We also played ping pong downstairs. There was plenty of wood provided for the fireplace, and the heating system was excellent.

The kitchen was well equipped-we actually never ate dinner out, we shopped at Coop and took the bus up the hill every night after our day's activities.I love Coop-there is a great selection of everything you would want,and they sell wine as well.We enjoyed cooking with different ingredients thasn we have at home.The kitchen also was thoughtfully stocked with spices, salt, sugar, tea and coffee.Cleaning products were provided.

.The bus stop was less than 10 minutes walk, and the buses frequent enough to meet our needs.Our boys went off skiing themselves every day, and we enjoyed sledding(sleds provided), cross-country skiing, ice skating, and walking around the village.Our daughter enjoyed the Selfranga ski area-just 5 minutes walk from the apartment. The lift operator was very nice and gave her some helpful tips.

We did not need a car, tho an elderly or disabled person might.

The Goode's were extremely helpful, even offering to purchase some groceries for us so when were arrived after our long plane and train ride, we could eat and go to bed.They also give great advise on the area attractions.

We found Klosters to be the perfect Swiss winter sports area-everything is very close by, but no crowds. The train goes to Davos every 30 minutes if you want a little more shopping or something else to do. We love sledding, and there are 4 excellent runs nearby.We were sorry to leave after 2 weeks.

We had a perfect 25th Anniversary on New Years Eve, watching the village fireworks over the mountains under a full moon.It was our best family vacation ever! We hope to return someday, and recommend it most highly!

Sehr gemütliche, sonnige Wohnung zum Wohlfühlen

Wir waren mit unseren beiden Kindern (12 und 13 Jahre) für eine Woche in Klosters zum Skilaufen. Ein sehr schönes Skigebiet. Die Wohnung ist super ausgestattet. es gibt nichts, was fehlt. Der Blick auf die verschneite Landschaft war wunderbar. Wir haben die Abende vor dem offenen Kamin sehr genossen - auch Kaminholz steht bereit - und uns in der sonnigen Wohnung rundum wohl gefühlt. Die Möbel sind sehr geschmackvoll - nur die Essstühle sind etwas wackelig. Ein Auto ist zu empfehlen, damit man nicht mit Skiern den Berg zur Busstation runterlaufen muss. Selfranga ist um die Ecke, dort gibt es auch die Möglichkeit zum Flutlichtfahren. Madrisa und Gotchna müssen mit Bus oder PKW angefahren werden, was aber beides problemlos möglich ist.

Ein Urlaubsdomizil, welches man nur empfehlen kann!

Klosters is the archetypal alpine ski resort and the world famous playground of princes. It has absolutely everything you could hope for in a holiday destination. But even without the unparalleled winter and summer facilities it is an absolutely stunning mountain village, nestling at the meeting point of three valleys. It’s less than two hours drive from Zurich, two and a half if you take the train. Thanks to the Vereina railway tunnel which was opened in 1999, you can easily get over into the Engadine region to visit St Moritz or enjoy a day in Switzerland's beautiful national park. Davos is only 15 minutes by car or train and the Davos ski region is accessible from both villages.

Ski: The beautiful Klosters skiing region is world famous as the winter playground of the English royalty. At 4000 feet above sea level the village of Klosters has access to over 190 miles of prepared pistes extending over six different areas including the neighbouring village of Davos. The main area, Gotschna-Parsenn, has 95 miles of pistes culminating on top of the Weissfluh at 9331 feet. There are two home-runs back to Klosters, one of which brings you directly back to Selfranga, via Schwarzseealp. You can also ski down to Davos (and come back up on the lifts) or try the incredible home-runs down to Serneus or Kublis which is 8 miles long and 6673 feet descent! Klosters also has a second area, Madrisa, which has plenty of blue & red runs plus some marked but unpisted runs from the top. There is plenty of off-piste skiing too but please make sure you check the local snow reports first. The other Davos areas (Jakobhorn, Rinerhorn and Pischa) are also included in the regional ski-pass.
