Our family moved to Tennessee in 2004. We chose this part of Tennessee because of its 4 distinct seasons, beautiful weather, mild winter season, undeveloped land and friendly people.
Our goal is to provide vacationers with a comfortable cabin atmosphere for an opportunity to experience The Cumberland Plateau and Middle Tennessee the way we know it! We are only 2.5 miles from the cabin and can be of assistance for anything you might need. “Sportsman’s Cabin” is a great place that many of our guests have enjoyed! Thank you for viewing our site and we hope you visit with us soon!
Terri Douglas purchased this cabin in 2014
The Sportsman's Lodge and Cabin is located on private property and yet, very close to Fall Creek Falls. It's a great get away for relaxation and is also perfect for weddings and family reunions or friends gathering.
The Sportsman's Lodge and Cabin is located on 40 acres. You are going to experience a secluded peaceful vacation no matter which property you choose.
We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin was perfect, just as described. Everything we needed was there. We will definitely stay again. The homemade fudge was a nice suprise.
Our overall trip to the cabin was very positive and the cabin and area are both beautiful. It put us close to Fall Creek Falls and within an hour of Chattanooga, both of which our family enjoyed. When we did experience a problem - the AC unit failed due to a electrical part that shorted, the owners Hank and Terri were quick to respond and do everything in their power to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. It was clear they cared about our experience. I would certainly go back to this or another one of their properties because of their willingness to make things right.
I stayed here with my Dad, brother, son, and nephew for a weekend of fun for the guys in our family. We chose the Sportsman's Cabin due to the great value it offered and it's location between several State Parks that we wanted to visit. We could not have been happier with our choice. Our arrival was seamless due to the detailed instructions that were emailed through VRBO the week prior and everything was in place and staged for our arrival. We were pleasantly surprised to find a plate of assorted, homemade fudge waiting for us. This was delicious and consumed in short order. The cabin is well appointed and clean. The two bedrooms worked well to sleep all of us, and it was very convenient having two bathrooms as well. There was a washer and dryer in one of the bathrooms, which would have been perfect for longer stays. The wraparound porch was pretty great. I really enjoyed sitting on the porch swing and enjoying a cup of coffee in the morning. We took advantage of the fire ring and we were able to buy a pile of wood for sale near the driveway to the cabin for $5. The boys had a great time making s'mores.
The location of the cabin is really great. We visited both Rock Island State Park and Fall Creek Falls State Park during our visit. They both offer some great hiking, swimming, cliff jumping, and other miscellaneous good times. Fall Creek Falls State Park is considerably bigger and offers more amenities and extra activities, such as ziplining. Both offer amazing scenery and are less then 30 minutes from the cabin.
Check out was just as easy as checking in. There are instructions posted on the refrigerator on how to leave the place. Easy to follow and help set the next person up for a great stay. Lastly, I would like to note that, when leaving, my son left one of his favorite toys in the cabin. I called the next day and Patty found it, and shipped it back to us overnight. Disaster averted.
Whether you're looking for a quiet place to spend a weekend or a base to launch some adventures into nearby State Parks, this is the place. The price is great, the accomodations are excellent, and Patty will take care of your son if he forgets a light saber.
The property was amazing, the cabin was spotless and well furnished. We did a lot of grilling and built some fires in the fire pit and toured the local area. We had a splendid family vacation with our daughter and would definitely come back again, thank you for letting us use your cabin it's adorable and we miss it already!
This is a wonderful cabin! It was a perfect last minute get away for our boys before school starts. We loved the porch, the fire pit, and the charming country appeal! A definite treasure for all who stay!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sportsman's Cabin! The place was very clean and had most everything we needed for cooking. We didn't make much use of the outdoor living bc it was hot but it looked relaxing. Not as private as we thought since you can see the other cabin on the property from the front porch, but we didn't have any issues with noise. Couldn't make outgoing calls on my cell (Verizon) but that wasn't a big deal since we wanted to unplug anyway and we were able to do a FaceTime voice call. Internet and TV service were great. The property manager left us some yummy treats in the fridge also! My favorite part of the place was the tub with the Epsom salts and the oversized, soft blankets to cuddle up with. Definitely recommend going to Walmart on the way in since the closest grocery store is Save a Lot and their selection is limited. Fall Creek Falls is about 30 minutes. Not many restaurant choices close by, so plan ahead for cooking meals unless you want to drive 30 min for dinner. Overall great place-I highly recommend!
