Our family moved to Tennessee in 2004. We chose this part of Tennessee because of its 4 distinct seasons, beautiful weather, mild winter season, undeveloped land and friendly people.
Our goal is to provide vacationers with a comfortable cabin atmosphere for an opportunity to experience The Cumberland Plateau and Middle Tennessee the way we know it! We are only 2.5 miles from the cabin and can be of assistance for anything you might need. “Sportsman’s Cabin” is a great place that many of our guests have enjoyed! Terri Douglas purchased this cabin in 2014

Cabin was clean and comfy. Just as described. Bathtub was my daughter's favorite. Would definitely stay here again.
Thank you Terri and Hank for a wonderful and relaxing stay at the Sportsmans cabin. What a great cabin with all its openness and plenty of room for folks to sit and relax. We paid a visit to Cumberland Caverns and Falls Creek State Park and then came back and cooked out on the grill, what more could we ask for 😃 Also, thank you Terri and Hank for letting us see the Sportsman Lodge and seeing the wonderful decorating skills and time that you and your daughter put into both cabins. If your looking for a quite relaxing vacation or weekend this is the place to be, we will definitely be back.

We had a wonderful stay! From the time we walked into the doorway, to finding the plate full of various fudges in the fridge, (homemade just for us)...we were completely "wowed"! Everything was so clean and beautiful...it seemed like a brand-new facility, with all the modern conveniences. The gas fireplace was charming, and made the living area more attractive and inviting. Terri has non-flame candles throughout the cabin, adding a rich, warm ambiance. (If you want to take advantage of these "candles," bring along plenty of AAA batteries!). The wrap-around porch was divine, with a pleasant and private wooded view, and a perfect setting for enjoying the early morning sunrise. The kitchen was more than adequate, with plenty of cabinets and counterspace, and nearly Everything you could possibly need for preparing a meal. (Spices, condiments, coffee filters, paper towels, dish soap and scrubbies, plenty of hand towels and dish rags, cookware, bakeware, kitchen appliances,...
The bedrooms were beautiful, and the bathrooms well-stocked with various necessities, and plenty of towels and linens. The claw-foot tub was divine, with a delightful setting, including "candles" and plenty of relaxing character.
We won't hesitate to book another stay here. Thank you, Patty, for all you did to make our stay so special (including the fudge...Yum!!!)

Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at the Sportsman Cabin. Clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. We enjoyed hiking in the nearby state parks during the day and sitting around firepit at night.
The Sportsman's Cabin was great and just as described. There is tons of room to hang out and cook in the main room. The bedrooms and bathrooms are great and the decor has a nice outdoors yet modern feel. The outdoor fire pit and charcoal grill was a great thing to have. This cabin sits back off the road and provides a lot of seclusion. Anyone coming to Fall Creek Falls, Bluegrass Underground or any other near by State Parks (There are 5 state parks within 45 minutes) would love this place and how close it is to everything. We found a beautiful back road to Cumberland Caverns and got to see the leafs changing colors. Also Sparta is not too far up Hwy 111 and found a great local brewery called Calfkiller Brewery. We highly recommend going if you are into Craft Beer.
Our family stayed at the Sportsman's Cabin this past weekend. The cabin and grounds were perfect! There is ample room for everyone to eat together and sit in the living room. The wrap around porch and fire pit were both a nice addition to be able to enjoy the outdoors. The cabin is a short drive, maybe 15 minutes, from Fall Creek Falls state park. I personally enjoyed the quietness of the cabin location and didn't mind the drive at all. The cabin had plenty of blankets, towels, etc. for our stay. It also has a washer and dryer so you can do laundry if you need to. As an added surprise when we were unpacking, we found a variety of delicious fudge in the refrigerator. We would love to stay here again in the future.
