Plan your getaway to the Hill House in our 1 bedroom/1 bathroom, loft with skylights and a beautiful and serene courtyard in a 3 story home on a historical street. Just 3 blocks from the water, our home has some original hardwood floors from the 1800's, a spiral staircase, stained glass windows and a serene courtyard to relax. This home also includes central AC and heat, free wireless internet, cable, gas stove and dishwasher. The bedroom is located on the second floor and includes a full size antique bed and antique furnishings. Hill House is an excellent location in Fells Point which is off the main street, 3 blocks from the water, near a free city bus (Charm City Circulator) stop, water taxi stop and less than 4 blocks to Inner Harbor East, Little Italy, Whole Foods, gas station, movie theater, parking garage, shops, and restaurants. The Hill House is a great place to get away and create some memories with your loved ones. (Please note only adults should use the spiral staircase and although the loft area can accommodate two more adults on a futon, we do not recommend this area for sleeping arrangements in the summer as it is on the 3rd floor and can be warmer than the rest of the home. We do have central air, ceiling fan, and a portable fan for the loft.)
My name is Rebecca and I am recently married, so I moved from this home to live with my husband in the DC metro area. We dated for five years and really love the Baltimore area and this house, so although we love to come here on the weekends, we want to provide others with the same opportunity to create memories.
The Owner purchased this townhome in 2000
Hill House is centrally located and walking distance to many neighborhoods including Little Italy and Inner Harbor East. It is also walking distance to downtown, the Inner Harbor, and the conference center.
I love the original hard wood floors on the first floor, the stained glass window in the bathroom, and the history of this home. Hill House is located directly across from Douglass Place, historic row homes once owned by Frederick Douglass. You may look out your window and see a Douglass walking tour go by our street, explore the eclectic shops and restaurants of Fells Point, or relax in the backyard.
The property was well kept and comfortable. I would only recommend for 1 person or a couple. The location is close to the inner harbor and closer to little Italy and fells point. I found street parking but it's limited. I would def come back.
We were in town to a see performance at Fells Point Theater. The house was just a few block walk, very convenient. Parking in garage two blocks away was convenient also. Left the car and walked to entire weekend. Perfect location to inner harbor, little Italy, lots of restaurants and bars. Owners doing a great job with cozy row home. Very inviting! Very clean, which is important. Only possible negative, seemed like bed could be replaced to a queen, bed was very firm and could use some new pillows. But still a great rental. Thanks do much for sharing it with us😀
We'd recommend this VRBO for anyone wanting to explore the Baltimore Inner Harbor. We parked our car in a parking garage the first day and didn't touch it until we were ready to head home. You can walk anywhere! Including Camden Yards and the Ravens Stadium.
3 stories w/spiral staircase might be a challenge for some, but we LOVED it! Very comfortable, good amenities and Rebecca has loads of tourist info available in the room. 2 TV's and loads of storage space. Oh, you will have a problem deciding on restaurants from the HUGE list of eating establishments within walking distance. A few blocks from a Whole Foods and CVS Pharmacy.
We'll be back..!!
We thought this property was in a great location. We walked to Fells Point and Canton. Right near Little Italy - LaScala on Eastern was superb! Our waiter was amazing. The spiral staircase would not be good with someone who has mobility issues. My bag was actually too big to carry up on my own. I needed to take the things out I needed and carry them up separately. My husband managed to carry up his own bag but it was a tight squeeze.
The location was great! Everything was within walking distance. I felt safe in the neighborhood. If you would like to experience row house living, this is the place to stay! The FREE Charm City bus stop was right around the corner and took me to my conference which was located by the convention center. It is difficult to find parking . So, I parked my car and then I walked or took the FREE Charm City bus. I would recommend staying at this Row Home!
My Son did break the futon bed in the loft when he was putting it up. Sorry Rebecca - I hope the $250.00 will replace it. I know that it is an inconvenience when stuff like that happens.
The Hill House was a the perfect spot for a weekend getaway in Baltimore. We parked the car on Thursday and didn't use it until we had to leave--you can walk to EVERYTHING, which we loved! We walked to Fell's Point, the Inner Harbor, Little Italy...there's so much to see and do within 15-18 (walking) minutes of Hill House; we wish we could have stayed for a week! The hospitality at Hill House was excellent, the location was cute and charming, giving the true Baltimore feel. The owner responds promptly and really has a good handle on how to prepare a space for guests. I would highly recommend this property!
