Maria Takacs purchased this cabin in 2005
We bought Moonlight Mile because of the most gorgeous Lake and Mountain views and its location next to our favorite hotel The Lake Placid Lodge.
After our daughter's graduation, our family stayed at Moonlight Mile for several days of adirondack fun. It was beautifully decorated with adirondack style furniture, and had everything we needed. A few nights we ate at the boathouse while enjoying the amazing sunset, and the spectacular views of Whiteface. We had a few warm days when we enjoyed our coffee on the dock, kayaking and fly fishing at the outlet. One night we enjoyed the fire pit which was the perfect ending to the day. The property is next door to the Lake Placid Lodge, so it was fun to eat at the lodge and take an amazing boat tour of Lake Placid on the Lodge's beautiful wooden hacker-craft. Although we didnt feel like we ever had to leave the lake, we did drive 15 minutes to the high peaks for a day hike one day. There was so much to do, yet it was very peaceful and quiet. We look forward to our next stay!
If you're looking for the perfect Lake Placid/Adirondack getaway, look no further. The house is decorated to perfection in the Adirondack style and possesses a well stocked kitchen, beautiful en-suite master bedroom and two well appointed bedrooms. We enjoyed an amazing, restorative, and relaxing post-Christmas getaway with our children. The views of the lake are incredible as is the access to a number of stunning hiking trails. Simply put, we had the time of our lives!
The house was lovely and very well equipped. The location could not have been more perfect and the ability to just sit on our own private dock could not be beat. We had a wonderful, restful and fabulous few days staying at this property.
