Hello folks,..welcome to Casa De Los Conquistadors!This earliest example of California living was built in 1927! This is the very first house that was built in all of Woodland Hills. The home was originally the Caretaker's home for the Charlie Chaplin estate that is just down the street. Classic stucco design combined with arched ceilings,furnished with period antique pieces, The home's rustic patina harkens back to another less complicated, more romantic era. If you are looking for something "ho hum" modern and ordinary ,this isn't your place! However if you want a place that gives you a real feel of true to life early California (with all modern conveniences),this is the spot.If the calendar says that the house is available,. IT IS AVAILABLE! HIT THE 'BOOK IT BUTTON'! If you do decide this is the place for you and yours,and it is a last minute booking (three days or less before you arrive), you must send a request via email to book. Without that prior contact on a last minute booking ,we will most likely decline your request. Please leave a telephone number so that we may give you a quick call Centrally heated and cooled. Three very tastefully inviting' bed rooms.(with King, large full,and bunk beds. Also up to' three' (Separate hideaway beds),nobody has to sleep on a couch! Two full bath,s(no waiting), The linens are of sufficient thread count and are impeccably clean.(I clean them myself). Two bathrooms with 'full bathtubs',and not just a shower. ..This is a completely detached building with 'total privacy' as it's sole design mission.The kitchen is fully appointed ,including a dishwasher ,microwave, refrigerator, oven stove , toaster,spices that would satisfy most palettes,dishes,and an assortment of pots and pans. An array of gourmet teas and coffee are there for your enjoyment. There is a clothes washer and dryer solely for your use.*(Sorry,due to the drought,washer and dryer use are for stays one week or longer.If you are not planning your stay for a week or longer please do not request use of the washer or dryer. It is awkward and uncomfortable to have to say no). The Fully appointed kitchen opens up into an elegant dining room . Flat screen television and 'wi-fi' are included.
Outside is a very large and comfortable patio, private bar be cue area,perfect for lazy afternoon suntan sessions.Best of all its an easy short drive through 'back road beautiful mountain scenery' direct to Malibu Beach California .Lots of hiking and biking trails,(2 complementary bicycles available..use and borrow at your own risk). 'High end 'shopping abounds well within easy walking distance.Conveniently situated between the Calabasas Commons,(as seen frequently on TMZ and other shows), and at least four other shopping malls and stand alone boutiques abound. There are also plenty of' Gourmet' restaurants for every taste and palate . Public transit is within blocks to take you to local places like Hollywood, Universal studios, Venice Beach, and such.There is no need to base your 'home away from home' in any one of those congested areas when within a few minutes you can be there.Lets face it, most Vacations to 'Big Cities' aren't very relaxing... I cannot emphasis enough how important it is for a home away from home to afford you as a guest, 'complete privacy'...You wont feel intruded upon in at all.
Interaction with Guests
Upon your arrival we completely understand... YOU ARE TIRED AND YET EXCITED! A short three to five minute orientation is all that is necessary to acclimate you to your 'new digs'. After that if you have any further questions,concerns,or just want to say Valid identification for all guest must be presented at time of check in....HEY!!Just give a call.
Centrally located to EVERYTHING!! Yet outside of the frenzied mess of is LA. A bike ride away from shopping ,restaurants,( if your in really in shape ,..the beach) We're close to the interstate (the 101) ,yet if you choose it isn't necessary ...take the streets or back roads to Hollywood, universal studios, the ocean. or head north along the coast for a wonderful ride to the California wineries!
Unfortunately for our safety and even more than that,..The safety and privacy of our guest we can not allow 'stop byes',or 'drive byes'. Please do not ask.We tried it before and it simply does not work. Valid identification and credit card for all guest must be presented at time of check in. Guest must contact host at least forty eight hours ahead of time to notify as to what time plane arrives if arriving via plane. After arrival please contact host as to give a better ETA .The host will meet and greet you with a short orientation and give you the keys..Then you are set to start your vacation!
I attempt at all times to remain open minded on all things.Our differences are what makes life interesting.,modesty is usually the best life policy,I strive to be easy to communicate with.I love garage sales and second hand stores.traveling up the California coastline,cooking for old and new friends,Good jazz and jazz (website hidden) homes represent me and my Life views,... calm and relaxed.Nothing artificial,all natural.I never ever want to leave any situation second guessing 'did I do my best?' Therefore I attempt a 110 percent effort.

I simply adore the Early California architecture.
I love California! It was three glorious weeks. Now I'm back in New York City reminiscing on California and "The Casa". I slept well, ate well, relaxed well. Most important, the kitchen was set up for a three week stay. I've stayed at other rentals that were not and I had to continuously make trips to the store. But you guys had everything. Better than my own apartment! (Ha!) Thanks Eva ,(and Rich) for a memorable stay and all of your great tourist advice! The house was perfect for my and my "Posse"
Rich was great to work with and made us feel very welcome. We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio in the cool evening hours. We loved the decor. Only thing we would change is that the bunk beds need more comfortable mattresses.
Now that we’ve grown up, my siblings and I always have a hard time making it back home to spend time together for the holidays. Fortunately this time, we were all able to decide on an early date in December to escape the cold and spend a few days in Los Angeles together, and we had a blast! The house was super cute, and the owner was very helpful. I would have given 5 stars, but the house was a bit farther from Disney Land than we expected, so travel wasn’t as seamless as we had hoped. Besides that, it was really close to Malibu and quite a few different hiking trails, so we still had a great trip.
The house was very clean, and Rich and Eva were very cordial and inviting.
My partner and I had to be in the Los Angeles area for an entire month to meet with a very important client. Between a warm home and a sterile hotel, this decision was a no brainer. Great hosts, great location.
My fiancé and I decided to take a last minute getaway to California for a couple weeks, just to escape the oncoming cold of the east coast winter! We hit a few different cities along the coast, and ended our stay in the Los Angeles area. Although we’re from the east coast, we prefer to avoid large overpopulated areas, and we long for the quiet serene comfort of nature! This house was just what we were looking for! Close to a wide variety of natural landscapes; we had mountains, beaches, and forests basically all within 15 minutes of our front door!
Rich and Eva were absolutely wonderful. They the warmest most gracious hosts we’ve ever had! Talk about relationship goals!<3 We will definitely be back around the same time next year, (although hopefully it’ll be as man and wife this time around!) We can’t wait to reconnect with our newfound friends, and the awesome natural adventure that California holds!

No smoking of anything in the premises., Smoking anywhere "outside" on premises is also prohibited ..Candles in the unit are for decoration "ONLY" the candles on the dining table may be lit "ONLY" while placed on the dining room table. Candles may also be used outdoors ... if used with caution.No fires of any kind in the home with the exception of the oven and stove. Absolutely no drugs or use of any kind.(tobacco,marijuana,pipe etc.with or witout a prescription.) any where on premises for any reason.No moving,rearrangement, or removal of furnishings for any reason. "Host reserves the right to pass'. Upon acceptance of this contract, guest relinquishes right of review and or blog with regard to this property to any outside website or forum.Host also reserves the right to refuse service.Guest that made reservation must be present with valid ID and credit card used to book the home upon arrival.
