About Sheri Hall - Managing Partner

Our family is originally from Southern California. I'm the oldest child and have a brother 9 years younger. Our parents, both being educators, had summers off and chose to spend them in Island Park. We eventually moved to Bozeman Montana,

Where my brother and I both graduated from Bozeman High School and Montana State University. Additionally, I went on to earn an advanced degree from University of North Carolina. 5 years ago circumstances changed within our family, and I decided to turn our family home into a vacation rental. I love people and enjoy interacting with our guests. We'd love to have you visit our lovely home, and enjoy the beauty and recreational opportunities of Island Park and Yellowstone. I look forward to hearing from you! ~Sheri

Sheri Hall - Managing Partner purchased this cabin in 1961

Why Sheri Hall - Managing Partner chose Macks Inn

Our parents fell in love with Island Park while vacationing and working summers here in the early 1960's. They decided to build a cabin so they could spend their summers in the Island Park, Yellowstone area. A new subdivision had just been created and our family bought our property, building the 2nd home in this beautiful area surrounded by US Forest Service land. This is our treasured family cabin that was built by our parents and grandparents In the early 1960's.

The Canadian cedar tongue and groove logs the cabin is built from arrived on a flatbed semi-truck from California with a set of instructions on how to put it together. The cabin was built in one summer, with the interior work completed over the next two years. Dad and Grandpa built the custom cabinets for the kitchen and installed the oak hardwood floors. Over the years, the cabin has been a labor of love for us and our parents. Originally a summer home, the cabin was converted for year-round use in 1990. Recently updated, the cabin now has all the amenities of a well appointed home, while still retaining its original charm.

What makes this cabin unique

The cabin is very warm and inviting. The large multi-paned windows offer beautiful outdoor views of the forest and the numerous small (and large) animals that inhabit the area. Our home is not your usual Island Park/ mountain rental, we chose comfort and amenities over the popular 'Lodge Décor' found in most mountain vacation rentals. Each room has been decorated with a loving hand and an eye for color and our guests comfort.

You'll find everything you need for an enjoyable stay, both indoors and out.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Everything was decorated so beautifully, yet very practical. If we needed anything, it was always here and easy to find. I could tell Sheri put a lot of thought and care into providing a pleasant experience for the guests, what a success you are! We had such a peaceful time. Thank you so much!

Wonderful cabin with a very interesting family history.

  • 5 of 5

If you are looking for a clean, neat place to stay just far enough away from Yellowstone to enjoy the park yet not have to deal with the crowds just outside the parks borders, this is THE place. For your non-park days enjoy horse back riding, fishing and swimming at nearby Eagle Ridge Ranch and dinner at Boondocks.

Sheri is a wonderful host. She makes you feel right at home and was very helpful with any questions we had.

Amazing "We Still Do" 40th Anniversary Vow Renewal and Honeymoon

  • 5 of 5

I will start by saying, if you are looking for the Ritz Carlton with golf course grass, you are looking at the wrong place. But is you are looking for country, inviting home style, comfort, peace, quiet, nature and the best, friendliest landlord ever, this is the place for you to come. It was very easy to find from the direction. The cabin had everything we needed and was as it was listed. The beds were very comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom had everything that we needed, all we had to do was bring our food and toiletries. Sheri was an amazing hostess! We stayed 5 nights. June 20 - June 25, 2018. Just didn't get to spend much time during the day at the cabin because we explored Down Town West Yellowstone, Island Park, Yellowstone National Park, Grand Tetons National Park, Jackson Hole and Mesa Falls and everything in between. As the ad says, "don't stay indoors". There is so much of God's handy work that you must see. There are so many breathtaking views all around the area.

My Husband asked me if I would marry him again on our 40th Anniversary. He and Sheri talked several times over the phone planning our special day. Sheri set everything up for us from the sweetest minister and his wife to a very talented photographer and his wife to the flowers for the ceremony. Thank you Sheri for the surprise of the bubbly and cupcakes after the ceremony. I wanted a beautiful waterfall backdrop and Upper Mesa Falls, ID was just the place. It is breathtaking and the weather was great for our special day.

We not only got to stay at this cute cabin and see beautiful sights but we also have a new member of our family. Sheri is now part of our family! We will be back!

Sheri, thank you for everything.

We love you. Bernadine and Dawson Stanaland, Pace, FL

My parents really love it!

  • 5 of 5

The wooden house is so delicate and has the feeling of the Yellowstone. The owner is so kind and nice! My parents come from China and like to eat rice, so Sheri brought a rice cooker for my family! I really appreciate that! My father said Sheri has a good taste.

Perfect place for a family vacation at Yellowstone!

  • 5 of 5

Our family and friends (group of 6 adults) came from the UK, Canada and the west coast of the US to visit Yellowstone for the first time. Staying in this cabin was perfect! They have thought of every last detail for our stay here - we cooked meals together (they had a cabinet filled with spices and cooking tools), came together after adventuring at Yellowstone all day, and relaxed in the family room. It had enough room to get space when we needed to but had the feel of a cozy cabin getaway. It's a lovely spot, Sheri was so communicative and gave us very specific directions, weather heads up, told us where to grab groceries and how to navigate different Yellowstone entrances and even followed up when someone left a baseball hat behind. So nice!! Overall, incredible experience! Thank you!!
