Come stay in this beautiful 1920's Spanish style bungalow cottage here in Venice and discover a great sense of calm and relaxation whether you've come here for a business trip or just to get away and enjoy the nice sunny weather and have some fun in the sun! This 2 bedroom and 1 bath unit is approximately 1,400 square feet, with its original architectural details throughout the house and it's beautifully decorated interior is sure to satisfy those who are seeking a place that will bring a warm sense of that "home away from home" vibe no hotel can provide!
As you enter the mullioned glass panel front door, you will find yourself standing in the middle of the living room that has been furnished with classic California inspired fixtures, and select vintage paintings to bring out a bright and cheerful mood for you and your guests. Make your way to the dining areas and you will find two separate spaces, the kitchen and a cozy breakfast room. The Kitchen has refaced white solid-wood cabinets, new appliances, marble countertops, pendant lighting, and linoleum tastefully renovated to preserve the style of the 1920's. The separate breakfast room is the home owner's favorite area of the house, the main reason this is her favorite is because of the reproduction French doors that open out into the garden.
There are 2 bedrooms in the unit, giving a maximum occupancy of 4 people. Each bedroom has a queen bed with some classic California inspired paintings and lots of single panel windows to bring in a nice breeze. The bathroom is located adjacent to both bedrooms.
Inside this spacious bathroom, there are built-in cupboards, a shower/tub combo, and a 3/4 length mirror. and a vintage pedestal sink.o is very low maintenance
There is a resident cat that comes with this home which is very low maintenance. Just fill the bowl with kibble and the cat will be happy!
As most beach properties along the California Coastline, this property is not equipped with an A/C unit. With average beach temperatures ranging from 65 to 75 degrees year round, air conditioning is not generally needed in our beach areas. For our warmer days, each of our beach properties is equipped with portable ventilator fans which, when combined with open windows, allow the fresh ocean air to circulate and cool your property to a very pleasant temperature.
This charming cottage served as our home base for our three day tour of LA and surrounding beaches. The home is beautifully decorated with a well-equipped kitchen although our busy itinerary precluded it's use. No complaints with the home itself however upon arrival (at 9pm) we entered a sweltering hot interior with an overpowering stale/kitchen odour. We immediately opened as many doors and windows which helped somewhat to diminish the odour but did little to alleviate the heat. The property management company had left only one small table fan so one of the bedrooms remained stifling hot and extremely uncomfortable throughout the night. Suffice to say, that despite being exhausted we were not able to use the bedroom for sleep until well into the early morning hours (ie.2:30am). An additional fan was dropped off by the property management company the following day per our request. Finally, we were shocked to find a note left from a stranger who had entered the cottage on the instruction of the owner to check on the resident cat. We had been led to believe that a cat may visit the home however it was not made clear that this was in fact a resident of the home and that care was required. The cat "caretaker" instructed us to leave windows open in the bathroom which we did however it created unease given that our belongings were left in the home during our outings.
In conclusion, the home itself was quite lovely but there is definitely room for improvement with communication regarding particulars of this property. Brian & Jane L.
