Don grew up in L.A. and was in the Food Industury for many years. Then he moved up to sonoma county in the late 70's. Kathy grew up
in the south bay area and work for electronic companies and moved up to sonoma county in the mid 70's. Don and I met in 1990 and married the following year. We both fell in love with all the beauty of the area and wonderful things it has to offer.
Don & Kathy Oliver purchased this house in 1997
When we first saw the property we fell in love with the views and liked the location of being on the edge of town, but we are still close to everything. We see wildlife, like deer with
their fawns, sometimes we see foxes and alot of different birds. This place and the area has become very special to us.
We love the views of the winter creek, valley and mountains. The courtyard in the front of the house with our beautiful Japanese Maple tree.
The house is well laid out for coming together and having space apart to rest. It's furnished with both comfort and utility in mind. The owners are generous, helpful and kind and the area beautiful amd peaceful.
Kathy and Don are super nice, and their house is clean, updated and stocked with the essentials. This house is perfect for anyone in the wine industry. It's location couldn't be better. If you looking for a house in wine country look no farther... this is were you need to stay!
VRBO has been a great source of vacation home rentals for us and we have had a very good experience both, with the service we received, our interaction with the owners, and finding great homes. This house is exceptional. It is everything it promises and more. We drove down from Wyoming to celebrate Christmas with our three children and their families and had wonderful three day stay. We loved the layout and number, and size of bedrooms, which allowed for a quiet retreat, when needed. The location allows for nice walks, including a short walk to a park with a playground for children. The house was beautifully decorated throughout, which added to the spirit of Christmas. We would love to come back in the future.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this lovely home. The location is in a lovely wooded area seen from the wrap around deck. The home was spacious and clean. Plenty of actual bedrooms for multiple couples. The landlords are friendly and very accommodating. One wrinkle is the shower situation. There are 3 showers but only two full baths. One of them has two showers, so you need to be on familiar terms with the person showering at the same time. There are three other half baths, so people can shower and then use a different bathroom for hair, makeup, etc. It's just something to be aware of if you have 8 adults who need to shower before an event. We would definitely stay there again when back in Santa Rosa.
We gathered at this relaxing & cozy home for my niece's wedding @ Calistoga Ranch. 11 of our extended family. It was an unusually rainy weekend, but we had lots of room to spread out &/or comfortably come together. The wrap around deck & all the birds & natural wildlife added to our delight, along w/thoughtful gestures of wine, beer, cookies & well stocked cupboards. Thank you!
My large and boisterous group came to Santa Rosa to ride the Levi Liepheimer grand fondo. The house was perfect for us. The living room has a large supply of recliners and a great TV for watching all the games my crowd cared about. There was ample parking. Plenty of room. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and really owe thanks to the Don and Kathy. They are great hosts.
