Paniolo (Hawaiian Cowboy) Sunset Hale is an oasis on the sunny dry side of Molokai. This unit, with almost 1900 sq.ft. of living area, lives and feels like a private home with it's privileged location on the ocean, and an unobstructed view of the beach, water, and glorious sunsets. This is an end unit on the open side of Paniolo Hale, providing you with privacy and nature at your door. Spacious and open, with a sophisticated beach house decor. An extra large wraparound screened lanai brings the water, breezes, and sunshine in….without any concern for bugs spoiling your nap, or interfering with your dinner. This provides an abundance of living space, when added to the great room and open concept kitchen. This is the best spot for dinner on the island, as you watch the sun sink below the horizon, with the island of Oahu in the background.

Easy living with a ground floor master bedroom with ensuite bath , opening onto the screened in lanai. Sleep with the doors open, and listen to the soothing ocean waves rolling up on the beach. With only one step to get in, the condo is ideal for young and old alike.

Upstairs is a very large bedroom with a view to die for. The ocean and beach feel so close, you almost think you are there. The bedroom opens onto it's own ocean side lanai, with a table, chairs, and chaise. A soaring ceiling, with walls of windows, make this an airy and light filled space. There is a full bath, with shower, to make it like a second master bedroom. There are two queen beds, which offer multiple options for guests. Again, you can hear the surf, and smell the clean ocean air, as you drift off to sleep. You will awaken, knowing you are in paradise!

The owner loves to cook, and have dinner parties when they are in residence. The kitchen shows that a cook designed it, to maximize its functionality. An oversized island is the center piece of the open living area. Wonderful ocean views can be enjoyed, when cooking or cleaning up afterwards. Premium appliances, and an abundance of serve ware make dining at home a pleasure.

Cable TV and wireless internet are available for those that feel the need to be connected to the outside world. If you came to escape, you can find it here.

In addition to the beach and ocean, there is a beautiful pool available for your use, as a guest at Paniolo Hale. If you prefer the ocean, and the beach, walk out front, or take a hike to one of the many beaches are that easily accessible from this location.

Visit and see all that Molokai has to offer. In addition to the beaches and the ocean, there are spectacular mountains. You can hike in a rainforest, where there are species of plants only found here. Take a guided hike to Halawa, and visit one of Hawaii's highest waterfalls. Along the way, you will learn many things about the Hawaiian culture from your guide.

Go for a whale watch, in the Winter season, with many boats that are available for hire. Snorkel and dive the largest reef in Hawaii, with crystal clear water, and abundant sea life.

Take a day trip on the Molokai Princess, a ferry that will take you to the charming whaling town of Lahaina, on Maui's south shore. Visit a real coffee plantation, where some of the best tasting Molokai coffees can be purchased and enjoyed. Take a tour at Purdy's macadamia nut plantation. Seek out a secluded beach, where you may be the only people there. Take a guided hike with the Nature Conservancy to see the Mo'omomi Preserve, with its beautiful crescent shaped beach, sand dunes, and endangered sea birds. Visit Kumu Farms, and take a tour of their papaya plantation, of just to purchase the freshest organic fruits and vegetables. For the meat lovers, stop by the Molokai Livestock Cooperative, and purchase any cut of local grain fed beef. If they don't have it, they will get it.

Fantastic condo

This condo felt like home. It was absolutely spotless and beautifully decorated. Everything we needed was there, from beach chairs to pie pans. There was plenty of space for 2 couples. The hard part was deciding where to sit to enjoy the ocean view. This place had everything we were looking for in the solitude and peace and sounds and sights of the ocean. We definitely want to stay here again, and wouldn’t change a thing about our stay. And special thanks to Scott for being a super awesome manager!!

We loved this place. I had been to every other Hawaiian Island except Molokai, so I decided to try a new Island. No traffic, no tourists, white sand beaches, great weather, and you can always hop in the jeep for an adventure all over the island. From the high elevation jungles to the isolation of the east end. If you want to go visit an island that feels like your own private paradise. Hang out with the locals at the bakery. Catch some sweet waves, right in front of your house. Listen to the surf every morning and evening as you wake up and go to sleep. This is the place. The house itself has everything you need to feel right at home as well. Thanks so much to Scott the property manager for taking care of all our needs as well.

First impression was that the owner of the unit was a collector of stuff. Second impression was the beautiful beach and later as the sun set, the incredible sunset. A monk seal with her pup were daily visitors on the beach. After a long day of basking in the sun, it was amusing to watch the pup trying to get mommy monk seal up and moving. The locals are super friendly and helpful.

Our problems started on the third day of our visit. In the afternoon, we noticed tiny bugs, at first hundreds of them on the ceiling. By the next day, we had thousands of them crawling on the ceilings and falling into our beds and hair. The bugs on coming faster than we could kill them. Unfortunately, there was the Molokai to Oahu Canoe race and we were told that there was nothing available for us to move to. Everyone who took a look at the situation said they had never seen anything like it before and left shaking their heads. We stayed for another two days in what we consider to be an uninhabitable environment.

Fern who cleans the unit found us another smaller unit just about the time we decided we were going to have to stay in our car. We are forever grateful to Fern. She is an awesome lady!

After we returned home, we found that we were charged with cleaning fees on both units. After protesting, we were refunded $100. Scott also offered a 10% discount on a property on Kauai the next time we go to Hawaii. We still feel that we should not have had to pay the cleaning fees on the first unit and would have gladly paid cleaning fees on the second unit.

We loved our stay in this condominium. We lacked for nothin...the amenities provided were perfect...we were able to entertain daily/nightly with a view that is unparralled, incredible sunsets! You would be hard pressed to find anything comparable! Thank you for the spectacular setting and the comfort provided. This property is outstanding and we've already signed on for next year!!!

Bow Island

A slice of paradise

Our first impression was one that went like this"wow look at the view" and " I love it I love it"

It truly was just like the pictures are showing.It is the best rental we have ever had in Hawaii,and we have been to all the Islands.

We loved the remoteness and tranquility ,the ocean was mild and we managed to swim every day.

On the weekend the locals came out with the entire Ohana and their surfboards and it was great to be able to hang loose with them.

This island is so quiet and non touristy ,it was an absolute joy to be here.

The ladies at the Maunaloa General store became instant friends.

The condo was so homey and cozy,plenty of kitchen supplies and wonderful to cook in.

The bedrooms were roomy and the beds so comfy,we slept so good,the ocean can be loud but it was a wonderful sound.

Thank you Scott for all your help and prompt replies it was a pleasure doing business with you.

Perfect Antidote to the rest of Hawaii

This condo and its remote location was perfect for us.

We're an active 60yo couple who love to snorkel, surf, hike/run, and cook. Beaches were amazing, and we found healthy coral 50 yds off Make Horse Beach.

Kitchen was outstanding, with all the gadgets and tableware you need, ceramic electric stove, new LG fridge, and 2(!) nearby gas grills that worked flawlessly. Bring a knife sharpener or your own chefs knife tho.

Beds very comfortable. We slept outside on the upstairs deck on night, gorgeous!

Only downsides were there are a number of stairs in the unit-fine for us but if your mobility is limited you'll want to take care-and the condo complex next door (about 300 yds away) is virtual abandoned so a bit strange.

Upsides are super friendly locals, deserted beaches, lovely trade winds cooling the house, responsive property manager, spectacular scenery and NO CHAIN STORES/STRIP MALLS on the island!!

Shop Friendly Market and Molokai Wine & Spirits, they'll let you return unopened food and drink with receipt. Kama (sp?) Farms had great fruit/veggies. Closed weekends.

Lovely diving, easy for beginners, on south coast with Tim and his team at Molokai Fish & Dive. I've never been impressed w HI diving but this reef was healthy, saw a few black tips and turtles, plus many reef fish and morays. Boat comfortable, safety gear up to date, and competent operation.

Perfect spot, we'll be back!
