Beautiful 4-star villa

House overlooking the town of Briançon, 3 minutes by car from the Prorel cable car parking that links the resort of Briançon to the entire ski area of Serre Chevalier. 4-star and very sunny house with all modern conveniences.

It boasts of 2 South and South-West-exposed terraces. In summer, you can eat al fresco

There are 3 large bedroom of more than 20 m² (for 2 people) including one with Mezzanine and relaxing area.

There is a single bedroom and a Mezzanine with 3 single beds

The 50 m² living and dining rooms have views over the town of Briançon and a fireplace for winter nights. There are 2 toilets on each floor and a very large bathroom.

A garage is at your disposal for free and upon request upon booking. It is large enough for a car and around 10 bikes. Geothermic heating with convection heaters.

Listed Unesco Wolrd Heritage in 2008, Briançon is surrounded by 3 mythical mountain passes that the runners of the Tour de France often cross.

Col d’Izoard, Lautaret and Galibier

In winter, you can go Alpine skiing, cross-country skiing, hiking without forgetting snowshoeing which will enable you to discover wonderful snow-covered landscapes.

In summer: hiking, biking, mountain biking, canoeing, canyoning, rafting, climbing and Via Ferrata.

Glacier skiing is reachable by car. For less sporty: visit the old fortified town, some forts, the thermal baths of Monétier, the water centre of Briançon as well as the skating rink, fishing, etc.

A lovely comfortable home from home

Villa Briancon was everything its description promised - and more. It has the most magnificent view across to the old town and is extremely well situated, especially if you have a car (or two, as we had).

The owners, Gilles and Isabelle, who live in the apartment below, were extremely welcoming and helpful without being intrusive and we quickly felt very much at home.

The property, which was spotlessly clean when we arrived, is spacious and well laid out and was always warm with plenty of hot water - particularly appreciated after a day's skiing! Everyone in our party (five adults, three teenage boys) agreed the beds were comfortable and plenty of bedding and linen was provided. The kitchen is well equipped, with every appliance and utensil you could need and a large supermarket and shopping centre is just 5 minutes walk down the hill for provisions.

We booked our ski passes and hired equipment from the Briancon ski centre which is just minutes away by car but as it was the New Year week we were advised that it would be less busy to ski from Chantemerle, 3-4 kilometres up the road, and this area was our focus for the week. Providing you arrive reasonably early in the morning you can park close to the gondola station (5 euros a day) or there is a larger parking area (free) on the outskirts, a 5-10 minute walk from the gondola station, depending on how much kit you are carrying! The speedy gondola takes you up to the slopes and there's a good range of runs to choose from as well as plenty of cafes and this ski area kept our party (a mix of beginners to advanced intermediates) happy for the week.

It was a pleasure to return home to Villa Briancon each evening and we have no hesitation in recommending it to friends or relatives. We imagine it must also be a wonderful base in the summer months - something for us to think about for the future?

Excellent location in a Beautiful city!

This is a spacious, modern, well equipped chalet, that is very conveiniantly located for the ammenities of Briancon (Markets, shops, bakeries, restaurants etc) as well as being close to riverside walks and access to the mountains. It also has stunning views out over the old city, especially at night when the cathederal and old town are all lit up.

On top of all of this your host, Gilles, is very friendly and welcoming and on hand to help when needed without being intrusive.

In short the combination of chalet, location and host was ideal for our family holiday, walking, climbing and relaxing in the mountains and the city, and we have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

Superb House

We (three couples) stayed in the villa over New Year 2013/14. It was all we could have asked for - very spacious, superbly appointed, in a great location and Gilles and his family were very friendly. Highly recommended.

Mooie en complete woning.

Zeer ruime vakantiewoning, van alle gemakken voorzien. Behulpzame en vriendelijke gastheer, aanwezig maar nooit opdringerig. Prachtig uitzicht op de oude stad en de bergen daarachter, vanaf het terras.

Goeie uitgangsbasis om met de racefiets een aantal grote cols te beklimmen.

Winkelcentrum dichtbij, restaurants zijn (iets) verder weg.
