This cozy getaway cabin gives you a truly authentic Alaskan experience with the comfort and warmth of all Hope, Alaska has to offer.
Designed as a guest cabin, the Little Red Cabin offers a living area, dining area, and separate loft bedroom area. Featuring a full-sized bed in the upstairs loft, two pull-out couches in the living room area, and a port-a-crib for the littlest travelers, the Little Red Cabin comfortably sleeps 6 plus an infant/toddler.
The living room is laid out with two comfy couches, a wood stove, and an electric heater to keep warm. The dining area has a round, oak table and 4 dining chairs, a mini fridge, microwave, and water dispenser with fresh water.
The Little Red Cabin is a 'dry cabin', in that it does not have running water. In 2014, the charming log outhouse facilities were placed directly next to the Little Red Cabin for convenience and comfort. Want an extended stay? Just around the corner is the Dacha General Store, which offers showers and laundry services.
The front porch of the Little Red Cabin is a delightful place to lounge, with 2 outdoor chairs, an electric grill, and extra wood for burning in the wood stove. The view from the front porch are the grounds of the Little Red Cabin, which are private, quiet, beautifully maintained, and nestled on 2+ acres of land.
The Little Red Cabin has a fire ring area, perfect for evening s'mores and hot dog roasting. With a U-Shaped driveway, even large ATV's can comfortably roll in and out in front of the Little Red Cabin.
Hope is a very small town. We didn't realize this cabin was so close to other cabins and properties. We were looking for something a little more remote. The cabin was nice for the one night we stayed there. We used the fireplace and grill. We went to the store (one drive-way away) for some snacks and to borrow some dvds. We slept downstairs on the fold out couch because it was too hot upstairs. (The couch hadn't been swept or cleaned but we put down clean blankets and all was well.) The cabin was exactly as listed; the pictures are accurate. There was extra supplies there (paper plates, paper towels, lights etc...) which was great. The owner was incredibly responsive, prompt and helpful. She was great to communicate with. We had a cool breeze coming in the windows and door, a warm fire and a bottle of wine. It was a great cabin stay for the night!
