Fantastic unobstructed ocean views- sunsets everyday; whale watching in season off the lani. We are directly across the street from Kamole III and a 2 minute walk to the beach.

The grounds are beautiful, and there is a lot of open space. You will find tropical flowers and palm trees and large grassy areas.

Enjoy our tropical paradise located on the desirable front row of the resort, overlooking the boat launch, the ocean and the islands of Kaho'olawe and Lana'i. THE VIEW IS SUPER!

The popular Kamaole III Beach State Park is across the street, and the beautiful, long Keawakapu Beach is a short walk in the other direction. Kamaole II and Kamaole I are the other sandy, white beaches that are very nearby. Of course, there are many other world famous beaches in South Maui that are just a short drive.

The lanai is a great place to relax, watch the whales, and see the sunset. Enjoy the view or read a book while sunning on the Lanai deck lounge chair.

The grounds of the resort are beautiful and spacious. There are tennis courts, 2 swimming pools, Jacuzzi, a small lender library, numerous barbeque's around the property with 2 just outside our front door. We have a toru office available on property to book sightseeing, snorkleing/dive, whale watching and sunset sailng tours; along with Halekala and Hana tours. How about a drive upcountry to Makawao and Kula- Paniolo country; or out to the winery for wine tasting.

Our condo is the perfect setting for a romantic getaway, honeymoon, a family vacation, first trip to Maui up to 100th trip, birthday or anniversary celebration, business trip, or most any reason you can think of to be on Maui.

The complex is very nice and it was our second stay there.

This unit wasn't as updated or comfortable as the unit that we stayed in last year. It's fine for a week but not for 3 weeks. Due to wet and cooler weather we had to close the doors and that's when we really noticed the stuffy mildew smell. The owners probably didn't know because when the trades are blowing and it's open it's not as noticeable. We left 5 days earlier than planned.

Owner's Response: We are most upset with your review and claims that the unit had a "stuffy mildew smell". Your leaving 5 days early without contacting us before is also very confusing. I received an "Inquiry" from you on VRBO on March 3rd telling us of your problem with our condo "smells sickening of mildew", and that you would be leaving. Both myself and the housekeeping staff went to the unit on March 4th, after you left, and discovered dirty linens strewed across the bed, damp towels hanging in all of the bathrooms and some partially out of the washing machine, and on the floor. Dirty dishes in the sink, and garbage in both the garbage disposal and in the garbage can in the kitchen. Also degradable food in the refrigerator, dirty counter tops in the kitchen, etc. Need I say more? The only smell you smelled in our condo was a combination of cleaning up after yourselves (kind of like being a guest in someones condo), coupled with one of the wettest periods of rain Maui has seen in a long time. We have had an extra wet February and early March. The smells of wet earth, tropical vegetation, pools of rainwater (we had at least 5 heavy rain days in this period 4-6 inches each- beautiful rainbows afterwards though), plus salt air, and tropical heat combined can sometimes have a heavy cloying smell. With the doors closed the smell just clings, as does the humidity. This is the tropics in the rain season (which for us is also Whale season, waterfall season, Rainbow season, etc.). If you add to this your added smells from garbage, laundry, etc. it can get unpleasant. There are remedies us locals use to deal with this. All you needed to do was clean up after yourselves and call us if there was still a problem. Instead you just left. and left a mess that our cleaning staff said was extraordinary. In conclusion, I am sorry your visit to our condo was not up to your "standards". In the future you might want to communicate your concerns and keep a cleaner unit when you art the guests staying there. Aloha and Mahalo for your visit!

Great view, but that's where it ends.

If it's an ocean view you're after then this would be a great property, however travelling with a 3 month old baby made this a terrible ending to what would have been a great vacation.

I recently visited Maui for 10 days, first renting a house in Lahaina for 5 days, which was an absolutely amazing experience, zero problems with the house and great owners/management company.

The second half of my stay was at this unit in Wailea, my overall first impressions were pretty good, the condo was clean but very hot inside. The air conditioning took some time to cool the place down, and with the requirement of turning off the air conditioner when you're not in the unit it became a little challenging cooling down the place.

The condo was quite well stocked, with the exception of dishwasher soap which we had to purchase ourselves. I also had to wrestle two rather large cockroaches, which the owner later explained to me is a problem everyone is dealing with due to the large amounts of rain the island has received, for the record, neither of these two points were an issue in the first half of my stay in Lahaina.

What really made this an awful experience was the fact that I had a 10pm flight on my last day, and because of that I had made prior arrangements with the owner, Cliff, to have a late checkout, for an additional cost which I was more than happy to pay. Cliff never communicated these arrangements with his wife, and as a result I had two very rude voice messages from her demanding that I get back to the unit as soon as possible because I was supposed to have checked out at 11am. Once I arrived at the unit she again was quite rude and told me that I had to get out as soon as possible because she has another couple arriving at 3pm. I told her that I had made arrangements for a late checkout and she insisted that I did not, again telling me that they would never do such a thing.

After I finally forwarded my emails to her regarding this late checkout things changed, she was a little more apologetic, however still demanding we leave.

After calling her husband we were offered accommodation at a hotel near the airport free of charge, however I did not want to check in to a hotel at 3pm, haul my 3 month old daughter around all day, just to sit and wait for our 10pm flight, that was not my idea of spending my last day in Hawaii.

I still have not received any sort of apology from Cliff himself.

Owner's Response: I am sorry your stay in our Unobstructed Ocean View Condo was not up to your expectations. First of all, you never informed us of any childas part of your reservation. Secondly, we are environmentally conscious, particularly due to being an Island, and we prefer not to see energy wasted. Having unbstructed Ocean Views comes with a price- the afternoon and setting sunsets, despite being beautiful, can bring hot afternoon suns. Open slidong galls doors and windows usually lets the heat out fatser the the airconditioning can cool things down. Thirdly, the condo association provides regular monthly exterminator treatment for insects. We just can't kill them all, and insects are part of life in the tropics. Finally, as far as my error in making arrangements for a late check-out, I must apologize. I mis-stated and mis-understood. We had back-to-back guests that day. Check-out is supposed to be 11:00am and check-in after 3:00pm. Therefore, any late check-outs had to be completed prior to 3:00pm so the next guest could check-in. They too were arriving from long distances. It was my mistake. My wife's reaction, while possibly rude, was my fault for not telling her the mistaken arrangements I had made for your late check-out, and she was worried about our guest trying to check-in. All check-outs need to be by 11:00am and any check--out- past that time will be charged an additional day, if there is no guest coming in that same day. Due to my error I did offer you, free of any charges, a hotel room by the airport, which you refused. Nevertheless, I do apologize again, for any inconvience you experienced. We try very hard to make our guests stay as positive experience as we have the power to do. Maui usually takes care of the rest. Aloha nui loa and malama pono. Cliff Ostrover
