CAMPING at it's BEST! Metal Roof, Large Open Outdoor Room, and Decks

Bedrooms Studio
Space 300 sq ft
Property type barn
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

For Camping Or Family Fun. Metal Roof over a Large Open Room, and Decks

CAMPING, CAMPING CAMPING!! This may look like a cabin but it's NOT. It has everything, but walls, and is super neat for camping or a day party. It is an open pavilion with two changing rooms. One step up to the deck keeps you off the ground at night. Old fashioned outhouse (with commode and water) an outdoor shower and electricity after March. It is in a secluded area with three other cabins nearby and has its own boat ramp, deck, and a nearby dock for fishing in our slew. Refrigerator, cooler, charcoal BBQ grill, tiki torches and party lights at night are all there. It also has an old fashioned rock fire pit for fun or romantic evenings. Paddle boarding, kayaking, jet skiing, skiing, fishing, or just laying in the sun is all permitted and encouraged. LOL We even provide floats. A nice place to camp out or have birthday parties on beautiful Smith Lake. We rent it by the weekend. If it isn't rented by Friday we would rent it for a single night. It is only one slew away from Smith Lake Park and about a mile, by water, to the Castle and Captain Jon and Maggie's Lighthouse Bed and Breakfast. Must be 21 years old to rent.

This is an enjoyable place to have a wonderful weekend with the family. We have used it for 50 years as it was family property that became lake property when the Lewis Smith Lake Dam was built. Come and enjoy!

Did not like it

  • 2 of 5

The water was great, but it was very steep down to the building. There was a ash tray on the table full of butts. Nasty

Owner's Response: Hmmmmm..........the road is steep and has two large curves going down the Cullman County Road to the lake. Once there and unloaded you can WALK into the lake. We think of this as an asset. This couple was very u communicative and when I offered to help him with directions I was told He could find it with his GPS. We had no clue when they would arrive so one of the neighbors may have walked over to sit on our deck to put their feet up and looked at the lake and used the ash tray. I'm just glad they used that instead of the ground. He thought he was renting a one bedroom, one bath Cabin for $75 a night not camping. Was not friendly at all. :( Did not want any help before the rental. I'm sure he was aggravated because it wasn't what he thought he had rented for him and his new wife. :(

Great place and wonderful view!

  • 5 of 5

We loved it! Ms. Harbison was very communicative throughout the stay. It was a little difficult to find at first, but she provided great directions despite GPS taking us to the neighbors. It was a great day on the lake. The lake was quite busy but that's expected for a holiday weekend.

Owner's Response: Thank YOU Ali. Yes, GPS can be somewhat unreliable around the small Lake roads. We enjoyed meeting u, your guest and the dogs. LOL. You were great guests to have and left the Pavillion in such wonderful shape we had very little to do for our next party. Please come again!!

Wonderful Camping Experience!!!

  • 5 of 5

We rented this located for a graduation get together weekend in May of 2015 (I forgot to write a review initially). There were eight of us and it was amazing. Everyone loved the place. The cabin is shady with a beautiful lake view. The cabin was great for semi outdoor sleeping with a picnic table for eating and socializing. We grilled, fished, played games, built a bonfire and swam. We did see a few snakes in the water, but that is to be expected in the spring. The neighbors to the right came to clean up there home for summer and were extremely friendly. Mrs. Harbison was the nicest, friendliest person. I would recommend her cabin to anyone wanting a get-a-way night, weekend or week. I want to rent again for a private weekend for two because it is so peaceful and relaxing, a great place to be away from fast pace of life. Thank you again, Mrs. Harbison, for a wonderful weekend experience that provided a lifetime of memories.
