A perfect stay in a perfect place...
We had an amazing stay at the Farm House for 4th of July weekend. Hannah was a great host, and the house was very clean and had all of the amenities needed. The property itself is also wonderful, with a beautiful pond and several trails to walk. Great restaurants in the area, as well as farmers markets. We had a very relaxing time here, and would definitely recommend staying here. We can't wait to go back!
The property was very peaceful, comfortable and clean, the kitchen well stocked and the beds very comfortable. My daughter and I had a relaxing week painting at a studio in Callicoon which was 20mins drive away. We hope to return next summer.
This is the place you want to go when you want to be isolated from modern technology. Nearly no cellphone reception made it easy to disconnect from work and easy to connect to nature.
Their book collection was wonderful, and the kitchen fully stocked with pots, pans and utensils. There was plenty of room to board and feed my fiancee's family (7 people.) for the night we brought them up.
The owners were delightful, even taking us on a tour of the surrounding neighborhood and showing us other houses in the neighborhood.
The surrounding towns were great. The Grahamsville fair was happening only 30 minutes away. Being a Celiac, Callicoon the town was a godsend as the market catered to gluten intolerance and there was even a Banh Mi sandwich joint that had gluten free options marked on their menu.
The house was not fancy, but beautifully decorated, and extremely clean and comfortable. Just a wonderful place to hang out. Indoors and out. The property is breathtaking and expansive. We really enjoyed taking strolls through the fields and wooded areas. We saw deer, wild turkeys, lots of hawks. The blueberry and raspberry picking was icing on the cake.
There is a small general store about a mile or so in town that has nice breakfast sandwiches. A short drive in almost any direction takes you to a quaint town. Callicoon Center was terrific on Sunday for the Farmer's Market, and there is an amazing wine shop on their main street, as well as a large grocery store, and a terrific ice cream and snack shop as you drive into town.
Jeffersonville also has a grocery store and some nice, little restaurants.
We clearly loved our stay and look forward to the next time we can go back.
We truly enjoyed our vacation. The property is in pristine condition and fully stocked for anything we needed. There are grocery stores and farmers markets all around for amazing meals at home.
We especially loved the quiet setting and amazing starry skies at night.
There are a few trails on the property full of blueberry bushes for every meal.
Our hosts were quite flexible with arrival and departure and made sure we had no want.
I would make sure you have a good gps or maps of the area as cell reception is not great in the mountains. We had plenty of fun exploring the Delaware river and the Catskills. We will definitely plan on returning and hope to make it a regular family getaway.
Stayed here this Spring and it was an amazing experience. Peaceful and full of Nature ....fields of wild ramps and walks through the woods. Just the best escape from the City life. Look forward to next opportunity to stay in this idyllic setting again.
