Beautiful and Peaceful Getaway

  • 5 of 5

I wanted an escape from my busy life, to be able to enjoy nature, sleep in, gather my thoughts and read a couple of good books. The place was situated in a beautiful ravine/forest. The inside was very very cozy and comfortable, from the loft just big enough for the comfy queen bed to the big comfy chairs, couch and electric "fireplace" that gave it that nice glow at night. Bob has a lot of talent in not only making a really well built place but he also knows how to give it that cozy and warm feel that you never want to leave. Even the lighting inside made it feel cozy and warm. There is a small fridge, coffee machine, microwave, towels, sheets were nice, soft, and clean and drinking water (water bottles) was provided. There is running water (at least at this time of year, end of March) for you to take an outside shower and for your use in the bathroom sink as well. You could also watch DISH satellite TV, listen to the radio or CDs, and watch a movie on the DVD player (bring your own). Make sure you bring some hiking shoes so that you can discover the beautifull land and have a nice fire at night with your own fire pit. The only thing I would reccomend Bob doing is proving a simple window covering for the large window in the main area. All windows and doors in main area (not sleeping area, but you don't really need them there, too high up for anyone to see inside) have a curtain you can slide across the window for privacy, except for the real big window. I was by myself, a single woman, so this was important to me, to feel more safe. I managed putting something else in front of the window to provide myself privacy at night. I hope to return soon and highly recommend this beautiful charming place, and when you visit, you must also ask (if possible) to see Bob's other little retreat tree house called "Captains Quarters." This is something out of a magazine, so beautiful and quaint and his touches throughout both homes make it so unique and pretty. You simply have to see! I came back to 5 kids and a husband that acts like a kid, lol, it was just what I needed and I feel, deserved :)

The perfect secluded getaway.

  • 5 of 5

Bob has done such an amazing job putting these cabins together in an eco friendly way that still provides all the necessary amenities (with a few luxuries), and total attention to details and decor. My early spring visit was the perfect respite; the woods were absolutely silent which gave me the best opportunity to unwind... with some luck I'd definitely like to do another stay when the woods are green and lush.

Ten Acres is such a serene, beautiful place!

  • 5 of 5

My kids and I had a great time staying in the Whitetail Tree House. Eventhough we had snow in March & 30 degree temps, we stayed nice and warm. We can't wait to come back. Thanks, Bob!

Awesome Treehouses!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Whitetail treehouse. Bob was very helpful and we loved his work on both treehouses. Paris and London were both a joy to have around. They were our personal tour guides on a nice hike through the surrounding woods. Oreo and Rango, the resident goats, also made the stay memorable. It was a delight to get away for a weekend. We took advantage of the particularly warm February weather and cooked some burgers on the gas grill Bob has for use on the treehouse deck. Overall, it was a great time and we can't wait to come back again!
