This is such a unique experience and true escape into nature. Bob has a great thing going here!

Bob is really doing great things with the property these tree houses are on! He was an excellent host and more than willing to help out with anything we needed. We loved the fire pit and sounds of nature including owls calling each other at night. The dogs on the property are super sweet and great company. We will be back for sure.

Very neat space

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I enjoyed our brief stay. Was hoping to stay longer but weather and work issues forced us to leave. We both agreed the space was well kept and relaxing. Great attention to detail and decorated. Bob was great. Had a great greeting from Bob's dog who led us to the door. Hope to come back sometime :)

Very peaceful getaway!!!

  • 5 of 5

Myself and my 2 kids, ages 8 and 13, stayed in the Whitetail for 1 night a couple of weeks ago. I found this place totally by accident and I'm so glad I did. Some of the reviews are correct - if you are not familiar with this location, you may get lost finding it - but once you do - it's fantastic. Bob was not there to greet us, but his 2 dogs, Paris and London were there and showed us the way to the Whitetail. This is a small and quaint little house on Bob's property. It states that it sleeps 4, but I'm not quite sure I'd agree with that! There is a queen size bed in the loft, a sofa on the main floor along with 2 large chairs to sit in. The 3 of us were good, but if my husband were with us, it would not have been as comfortable. Now - the Captain's Quarters......BEAUTIFUL!!.....and will stay there next time should my husband join us as it's a bit larger than the Whitetail. Bob came home and introduced himself. Very nice man and so generous to open up his property and rent out these "tree houses" to outside guests. His property has a very small trail and we hiked it at night. He does have some of the trail lit up with lights and that was a very nice touch! Sometimes the dogs found us and walked with us. Sometimes they barked/scratched at the door and we let them in for a little while to visit with us!! So....again....the Whitetail has a loft with a queen size bed. That's pretty much it in the loft. Downstairs, you have the sofa, table and 2 large chairs. You also have a flat screen tv with a DVD player so bring some DVD's if you want. He does have a few in the cabin. There is also a small frig, coffee maker, bathroom/sink and an outdoor shower! The outdoor shower was really cool but the weather was too cold to try it out. I must say, Bob was pretty creative building this and the Captains's Quarters! There is a wraparound porch with BBQ and firepit as well so bring those s'mores! No food is provided so you will need to bring your own. There is not much to do in Nauvoo itself but the Historic Nauvoo is pretty neat. If you are not in to history (1800s), then don't bother, but it was neat to see how people lived back then. Very quiet, peaceful and relaxing and I definitely hope to be back one day!!!

Thank you, Bob for your kindness and generosity!

You've made a lot of people very happy.

Tammy
