Awesome Treehouses!!!

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay at the Whitetail treehouse. Bob was very helpful and we loved his work on both treehouses. Paris and London were both a joy to have around. They were our personal tour guides on a nice hike through the surrounding woods. Oreo and Rango, the resident goats, also made the stay memorable. It was a delight to get away for a weekend. We took advantage of the particularly warm February weather and cooked some burgers on the gas grill Bob has for use on the treehouse deck. Overall, it was a great time and we can't wait to come back again!

Peaceful and charming location in the woods

  • 5 of 5

We loved our stay in the treehouse! It has great style, and it was warm despite the cold temperatures outside. It is an excellent base for exploration of the nearby towns, or simply relaxing in the woods.

The Perfect Unplugged Getaway

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for four days, three nights over Christmas and it was one of the best holidays we've ever had. Bob was super friendly and helpful the entire stay, we never saw him unless we needed his help.

Our dog Archer had the time of his life playing with Paris and London. We found some great hiking spots nearby, hunted for geodes, spotted bald eagles off the river, and checked out downtown Nauvoo and over the state line in Keokuk. If you go during the holiday season, check out Keokuk's light display in the park, it's pretty neat. We were not aware of Nauvoo's deep Morman history prior to visiting downtown, and though we are very non-traditional (we're tattooed and I have blue and purple hair, we stick out like sore thumbs!) every single person we met was super kind, friendly, and accomodating.

The treehouse itself was great. Bob provided water since the pipes are off in the winter. There was also mugs, plates, plastic cutlery, coffee maker with coffee, a microwave, a mini fridge with a little freezer section, and cleaning supplies. There were plenty of blankets and both the bed and the couch were super comfy. The pull-down TV with lots of channels is a nice touch, we had a lot of fun watching old Christmas movies. The lighting and decor was all very cozy.

Overall we loved this place, it was so worth the drive from Chicago. If you're looking for a warm, romantic, adventurous, cozy, pet-friendly trip, this place is for you. We definitely hope to be back. Thanks for everything Bob!

Great Retreat from the Real World

  • 5 of 5

Bob has created a magical space that was exactly what we needed for a little getaway. Tucked away from the cities, we turned our cell phones off and made ourselves at home up in the ten acre woods. The little Whitetail cabin was perfect for our short stay, but we were excited to explore the Captain's Quarters too. The weather was less than ideal- but Bob loaded us up with space heaters and we had no trouble staying warm. We're looking forward to our next visit to the treehouses and to see what cute little hideaways he comes up with next!
