El Corralot is an ancient and large farmhouse of the XIXth century built of stone, which helps to hold a cool temperature in summer and keep warm in the winter thanks to the fireplace in the lounge. The farmhouse is situated in the countryside of Valencia, and has barbecue (Paellero), a native garden that we care without pesticides and a large pool with spring water without chlorine, which are both used for swimming in summer and to water the kitchen garden throughout the year, ie, their water is constantly renewed.

The house on the ground floor has a porch (lodge) at the entrance, a living room, dining room, kitchen with dining, bathroom, and then a room. Upstairs is the other room. When people enter to the house, the feeling they have is that it's a huge house, feeling that comes because of the high ceilings, over three meters.

The decoration of the house and rooms is with antique and recycled furniture, and its walls are white-washed, without using any plastic paint. But the most beautiful, is on the outside of the house where are its wonderful panoramic views of the countryside and of the Mediterranean forest. It is an ideal place to rest and relax while watching the landscape.

The house is set in a farm of 100.000m2 (10 ha) of private land that produces citrus organically. In spring when all the trees of citrus flourishes the smell of orange blossom with their bouquets (clusters) of white flowers hanging from the branches is unforgettable and will make your walks a real treat for the senses. Did you know that from the f bitter orange flower is extracted one of the finest essences in the world? The Neroli, used in the best perfumes as Escale a Portofino” of Dior or Neroli Portofino of Tom Ford. Now you can find out first-hand how this wonderful citrus flower smells. But you can also smell the flower lemon or mandarin or sweet orange... Each citrus blossom have different olfactory subtleties. Spring in our fields is a world full of the finest natural flavors!

Also in spring, we prepare the kitchen garden which is next to the house so that in summer it is bountiful and give us a wide variety of seasonal vegetables (tomatoes, peppers, eggplants…). The kitchen garden supplies the kitchen with fresh produce so you could make the ancestral family recipes such as tomato coca, wild asparagus omelet, Escalivada…we have a recipe diary in the kitchen that you can use if you want.

Beautiful Spanish Countryside

The house and property look just as the pictures. My husband and I spent our honeymoon here, for 8 days and could not have imagined a better honeymoon for ourselves. The view from the property is gorgeous, the pool is quite large, and the house is surrounded by citrus groves. Also, there was plenty to do in the area: hiking near Simat, beach in Xeraco and history/dinner/shopping in Xativa. I'd like future renters to know that the property is located on a small winding gravel road. This did not bother us at all, in fact was a bonus for us, but I can imagine some people wouldn't like this. It really is in the country. Also, the house is split in half. Amparo owns only one half. The other half is owned by another member of her family. There is a large wall separating the property and driveway. We never saw or heard the person on the other side of the house. The wall is perfectly sufficient and we really did feel secluded. I mention this only to give an accurate picture of the property, not to detour any prospective renters. We truly enjoyed our time at this property and highly recommend to anyone looking for a Spanish countryside escape. Oh, and I'd like to mention that sheep and goat herds frequently meander past the house. Simply charming!

Beautiful rural farmhouse!

We are a family of four (kids 7 and 9) who wanted to explore a part of Spain we hadn't been to before. The communication with the owner of the house was fantastic and her daughter met us so we could follow her to the house. Do your grocery shopping ahead of time, because the local market is only open a few hours. The house is surrounded by orange and lemon groves, and we picked a lot of the late season lemons while we were here. The house is peaceful, with wonderful views of the valley and the mountain. The whole time we stayed there, it felt like being at home - the kitchen was fully equipped to cook in, the pool was chemical free and refreshing, and there was plenty of storage for our clothes. We didn't really use the internet too much, but it's fast and Netflix is available if you want to watch movies at night. I loved how private the property is and how many places there are to walk and explore. The town of Xativa and the castle are very close to drive to, and the beaches are a lovely drive down the mountain to the shore. We were there end of May, beginning of June and there were no crowds. My kids enjoyed the basketball hoop and the kittens! I really loved the views (and the giant bottle of organic olive oil!) The hosts are wonderful and helpful and as a family, we really enjoyed our time here.

Wonderful Escape

Our stay at the farmhouse was wonderful! From the start you are taken into another world as it is so peaceful and charming. We sat out on the porch every night and had coffee while our children swam in the natural pool out front and smelled the jasmines around us. Can't wait to go back again.
