I fell in love with the Smoky Mountains during my junior year of high school driving from Cleveland, OH to Florida. I decided if I ever had a chance, I would make this area my home. I raised three children, which they enjoyed the hikes to the waterfalls, the tubing down the lazy river, and trips to Gatlinburg/Dollywood. I want other families to experience all this area has to offer.
Marc Lehrich purchased this house in 2005
It is uniquely situated in the Foothills of the Smokies, while offering a quiet setting giving the spirit a chance to renew in nature's backyard. Many birds, wildlife, and foliage make this area a beautiful place to unwind.
I put my heart and soul into the house by building it myself. Larger windows provide great views of the mountains and the house sits up on a hill overlooking the surrounding area. Quiet country setting where only locals travel back and forth. I enjoy sitting on the upper deck with the ceiling fans providing cooling air drinking my morning coffee. Families will enjoy the backyard and the coziness of the house within minutes of outdoor activities.
The house was lovely and was a great place for our family to stay to celebrate our daughters wedding.
If you decide to stay at this house make sure you take pictures of the interior and exterior of the house when you arrive to protect your security deposit. I didn't and now I am paying. We have rented several vacation houses prior to this one and have never had an issue with getting our security deposit returned. We try to leave the house in as good or better shape than when we arrived. There were a couple of minor things that we may or may not have done but none of them justified keeping our deposit.
It basically comes down to our word against the housekeepers word. If you don't document you know who wins that one.
Beautiful house perfect for our Christmas slash family reunion. Three generations first Christmas ever together. We fell in love with the house was tough to leave this morning back to reality we go. I would come back in a heart beat well worth more than it cost us. Marc was very responsive with in minutes of any question before during our stay he would respond. Rent this house with confidence what you see is what you get and more.
We stayed here for a small church retreat. The house was very nice, and located in a secluded area, but close enough to go do the touristy things in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Beds were comfortable, rooms were clean. We loved the big round table in the dining room. There were not many channels on tv- which I was thankful for so that we weren't subjected to hearing the news blaring everyday, though others might not be as thankful for that. The description was accurate, and the owner was very timely in responding to our reservation and seemed nice. We highly recommend this home. :) We enjoyed eating at Sawyer's for breakfast one morning (the place in Pigeon Forge with the big metal rooster out front, beside Lazerport), and had funnel cakes and banana splits at Mad Dog Creamery also in Pigeon Forge. We went to The Lost Sea, Tuckaleechee Caverns, played the Escape Game at the Island in Pigeon Forge and escaped the room! We also hiked to Abram's Falls at Cades Cove, it was a fairly easy hike all things considered.
Owner is easy to work witth and the home is presented in pictures to be exactly how you will find it. Nice home, clean and centrally located. We had a great time in the smokies and at the end of our adventures a great place to return. Highly recommend this rental! Thanks Marc!
Our small family and the groomsmen stayed here for our son's wedding at Twin Cedar Farm. The layout of the home was absolutely perfect for us! It was waaaaayyyyy better than staying in hotel rooms because we all had our private areas, but there was plenty of gathering space for hanging out together. The kitchen was fantastic and I enjoyed using it to finish the wedding cake I made. It was very well stocked with anything you could need, plus spices and seasonings. The amazing table in the kitchen was fabulous for a big hearty breakfast on the day of the wedding. The furnishings were very nice, there were plenty of linens, nice electronics, and lots of other thoughtful touches (a large selection of DVDs, a poker set, a steamer, air freshener and chocolates!). Although we didn't have time for a fire, there was a nice fire pit with wood ready for us, and the yard was lovely and private. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. I wish we had had more time to enjoy all the fun adventures of the surrounding areas, but the wedding was the main focus, so we must go stay at the house again to do so!
Our party of 7 (3 couples, 1 child) stayed at this VRBO for 6 nights. From the pictures, we knew it was a lovely home, but the spaciousness, cleanliness, and amenities of this property were OVER THE TOP!! Each couple had their own 'floor' for privacy, and gathered easily around the large unique table for meals and social time. The couple with the child stayed on the top floor which had a two large bedrooms, one with three twins to accommodate children. It worked out beautifully! The wifi, TV and DVD, foosball table, exercise equipment, Jacuzzi tub, patio and deck provided great fun for all of us. The location is perfect - secluded and surrounded by nature, but easy to find and within a few hours drive of great entertainment!! This lovely home was a relaxing retreat at the end of busy days! The very gracious owner responded quickly to e-mails and texts and couldn't be more accommodating. A great place to vacation -- couldn't ask for any better! We'll definitely make this a routine vacation spot!!
Located in the foothills and the Great Smokey Mountain National Park. 30 minutes from Dollywood, Splash Country, and Outlet Malls. Horseback riding, Miniature Golf, and numerous hiking trails within the Smokey Mountains. Very secluded and down the street from Blackberry Farm.
