“Moosehead Lodge” is on Suncook Lake. With over 100 feet of waterfront and a brand new 40’ dock and beach area with steps directly into the water, you are sure to enjoy the peaceful surroundings.
In the evenings, enjoy the crystal clear skies by the large fire pit (plenty of seasoned wood). Watch loons, boats from the rocking chairs or porch swing overlooking the lake. Fish from the private dock, swim, bring a boat, a jet ski, enjoy the property's kayaks, basically anything you would ever want to do on a lake.
Public beach is a short 3 minute walk away in the cove and has a nice sandy beach for the kids to play at. Paddle around the lake to the rope swing, large jumping rock or simply enjoy the fireworks that blast off throughout the summer nights.

We fell in love with New Hampshire after buying the property and eventually moved here to raise our kids. As the kids have gotten older we don't have the opportunity to visit as often as we would like and want to share our experience with others who want to create lake memories with their loved ones.
Dana Keegan purchased this house in 2005
We fell in love with this property ten years ago when living in Washington, DC. We spent a number of years coming up during the summers and holidays with our young children. We have created so many wonderful memories at 'Moosehead Lodge'.
This is a great home because it is very easy for two families to rent it together and feel like you have your own space. Two master suites are located on the top floor and in the walkout basement. We get the most beautiful sunsets over the lake, and we have fantastic neighbors too!
We had a wonderful week stay at the Keegan's home. The house was very well appointed with beautiful decor and thoughtful touches everywhere. The kitchen is well equipped with any type of appliance you would need including a great wine fridge. The yard, porch, beach and dock are to die for - all you need for relaxing, sunbathing and catching up with family. My husband and I spent the week with my two brother-in-laws and their wives. We all were very impressed with the property.
It is a rare lake house that has two comfy king size beds and 3 full baths. We enjoyed cooking out and eating down in Alton Bay for a few nights. Duane's farm up the road had great corn and veggies as well as very tasty grass fed beef. We loved their pancake mix that we bought and cooked up one morning.
Kayaking on the lake is delightful - we were able to do a very trips around the lake and also venture into Upper Suncook lake. We were fortunate to have outstanding weather and enjoyed very warm lake water at the end of the season. Luckily we did not have rain, but if you did, the home has plenty of DVDs to enjoy. We had fun trying our hand at the pool table as well.
A few of us were adventurous and tried the zip lining on Weirs Beach. Great fun.
I wish I could spend the whole summer at this home. A delightful vacation.
The interior design of the house was first class and yet relaxing. My kids spent a lot of time on the swimming dock. The lake was busy, but not over crowded with too many boats and jet skis. Views from the house of sunsets on the lake were unforgettable. We love the place and are grateful for the opportunity we had to spend a week there.
We had an extremely pleasant stay at Moosehead Lodge! The home is comfortable, nicely decorated, well-furnished, and cozy. We especially liked the outdoor areas...back yard, sandy area, and the dock. Suncook Lake is clean and refreshing! We brought a newly-purchased jetski to further enjoy our vacation and couldn't have been happier with the lake and mooring arrangement...what a pleasure it was to tie one end to the mooring and run a line up to a hook in the tree. PERFECT!
There was a canoe and some small kayaks to enjoy along with a nice fire pit for making smores! We didn't lack for anything and the neighbors were simply OUTSTANDING! Moosehead Lodge lived up to its billing and is set up to provide a comfortable and enjoyable vacation spot...we weren't disappointed at all. I would recommend giving this gem a try!
Thank you, Dana, for allowing us the opportunity to experience/enjoy your lovely Suncook Lake home...hope to be there again next year.
We had an amazing stay at your home! It is so very beautiful. It's well equipped and there was so much to do in the area. A great vacation!
The house was located on a lovely, quiet lake with beautiful views of each night's sunset from the spacious porch. We enjoyed s'mores in the fire pit, canoeing on the lake, catching fish off the pier, listening to the loons, and observing sunfish "nests" at a nearby island. We also rented paddle boards from a store that delivered. The house was very nice with a large, well stocked kitchen and comfortable beds. The house was kid-friendly with a small kayak, blocks and other toys enjoyed by my 3 year old grandson. The house was easy to find off major roads. We enjoyed a nice seafood dinner in nearby Concord. Ice cream shops, grocery stores, liquor stores and farm stands were nearby. It was a little challenging getting all the linens washed and dried prior to our checkout time. The $60 trash removal fee seemed a little excessive. This was the nicest house we have ever rented. Dana Keegan answered my emails promptly.
My new bride and I selected this property for our honeymoon and we couldn't be more pleased with the results. The house itself is beautiful and the location on the lake with Fall evident everywhere around us made for a wonderful stay. The location is remote, yet you are less than 30 minutes from virtually anything you might need. Its proximity to the coast and Boston and Salem make for great day trips. In the area as well is a wonderful and quirky restaurant known as "The Crystal Quail" which we also high recommend. If you are staying in, we can attest that as amateur "chefs" the kitchen is a dream. So much space and high end appliances to boot. Certainly you can look at the pictures, but they honestly don't do justice to the lodge, either inside or out! If we every make our way back to the area, this will be the first place we look to for a great stay!
Concord, NH is only a 30 minute drive and all the large stores such as Target, Movies, Restaurants, etc. are near. A great grocery store is located about 10 miles north of property in Alton Bay. Local Country Store to get your basics and gas in a mile up the road with smaller town grocery and pharmacy 5 miles south of the property.
