Just 35 minutes drive from Faro airport finds you among the unique whitewashed Moorish style buildings of Tavira Gardens. It is one of the finest complex, set in lush, mature gardens with olive, palm and carob trees, surrounded with flowers and shrubs. Our fully air-conditioned holiday home is located in what we think is the most beautiful, quaint, pretty historical town of Tavira. The town is full of history, ancient castles, art galleries, Roman bridges and cultural interest and we are just a few minutes walk to this small riverside town.

Facilities at Tavira gardens includes a tennis court/ basket ball, two pools, one 20' x 10' and second pool 10' X 8', with an additional kids pool, bar/restaurant on site and play area with swings and slides.

Our light and airy home is decorated to a high standard, with internet WI FI throughout (included in the rental), washing machine, dishwasher, fridge/freezer, hob/oven, iron, hair dryer, coffee machine and kettle. We have included everything to make a home from home stay. The lounge kitchen has a flat screen TV, sofas and large dining table and chairs. It opens unto the garden furnished with sun loungers, parasols and bar-be-cue etc..a perfect area for Al fresco dinning. The kitchen is modern and fully equipped.

There are three double bedrooms on the first floor, all with terraces, garden views and two bathrooms. The 4th double bedroom is located on the ground floor, together with cloakroom toilet.

The windows and doors are fitted with insect screens enjoying the breeze without 'unwated guests'.

Relax and unwind in the comfort of our home and enjoy our warm hospitality.

Our home has a prime quiet position in Tavira garden, at the far end of a cul-de-sac. This prestigious looking complex with its extensive manicured garden is a great space for all the family. There is a play area for the children including swings, slides and climbing frame on a soft sandy base.

Tavira has numerous local typical Portuguese cafes and restaurants overlooking the river in the town centre catering for all tastes.

There is a wide selection of independent shops, daily fish markets selling freshly caught on the day.

The coastline of Tavira forms part of the Ria Formosa nature reserve, great for bird watching and wild life.

For nature lovers there are forest walks, cruises along the Guadiana River or nature trails.

• Great shopping in Tavira town, Faro, Ghia, Villamoura, Alburferia and Spain

• For the children there are water parks and zoo marina approximately 30 minutes drive from Tavira.

The Algarve has the warmest and sunniest winter climate in Western Europe, it is the ideal destination for a winter break and the summer months are long, hot, and lazy with guaranteed sunshine. Our guest has the free use of a cot and high chair.

An information pack including local restaurants/cafes, golf courses and other activities in the region, are available for our guest on arrival.

Tavira town council provides outdoor entertainment in the old town square through the summer season with a variety of music, theater, exhibition, folk dancing etc.

About Fay Clarke

We have always loved coming to Portugal and after a long search for our holiday home we finally found the ideal property and a perfect location not too far from the historical town, near the beach and all the amenities on site that one should need for a relaxing holiday. The perfect place for us to use and enjoy.

We fell in love with Tavira for its rustic charm and unique qualities. Taking the boat to Tavira island beach is the highlight for our friends and family. We had the opportunity to buy our first property in Tavira 2005 and have been spending time as well as renting to holiday makers. My family and I spend the winter months here when the villa is free which means it is well maintained and offers a comfortable holiday setting.

"Our third stay at Palm Villa, Tavira Garden, was every bit as comfortable and enjoyable as before. The spacious villa has been well maintained inside and out and the lovely pools and restaurant in the complex are directly opposite - great for an early morning swim and coffee. The location of the villa is ideal for the sandy beaches just outside Tavira and for the lively markets and restaurants of the town itself, all less than ten minutes' drive away. We had intended exploring as far as the Spanish border but ended up just sunning ourselves at the villa and on the beaches much of the time. Long term letting from November to March at a discounted rate. Bookings: A 25% non-refundable deposit is required at time of booking to secure & confirm reservation, balance payable 8 weeks before arrival. If booking 8 weeks or less prior to arrival full amount is payable. A refundable deposit of £200 is payable to cover any damages & extra cleaning. This deposit is fully refundable within 14 days at the end of your stay providing there are no damages/ extra cleaning, loss etc. No refunds for cancellation notice of 60 days or less. We would appreciate smoking outside our home. Daily cleaning option at small charge. Our representative are based at Tavira gardens and will be keen to help and they also speaks perfect English. A small fee is charge for arrivals after 6pm. Free Internet Wi-Fi through out our home. All bank charges for money transfer are to be paid by the holiday maker. Linen and towels are provided during your stay. Beach/pool towels can bought at the local supermarkets

Great location

Great location, well equipped villa.

Beds comfy, rooms large, bathrooms sufficient. Would have been helpful for a further shower downstairs, when house was fully occupied, but wasn't for long. The en suite shower is so small it's almost impossible to move, my biggest and only bug bear. The villa has air con, garden, you want for almost nothing in terms of cutlery and crockery! It's brilliantly equipped. There is a pool over the road, the bar and restaurant is useful for lunchtime food etc. Not far to walk into Tavira Town and to the Continente for food and supplies. Would definitely stay again if was in a larger crowd. Thanks again. Highly recommend for families and groups travelling

Well appointed villa in a peaceful complex

Just got back from a wonderful holiday at this villa on the outskirts of Tariva.

A beautifully appointed semi detached property in a modern Portuguese style, situated within the well kept and peaceful Tariva Gardens complex.

Plenty of room for the 8 of us (7 adults) both inside and out (+ BBQ area, sun lounges in tastefully flagged back garden). Great air con in all the main bedrooms / reception room which was very welcome with the 34-39 degree heat at the time. Lovely spacious balconies to all first floor bedrooms, great for sitting out in the evenings with a glass of wine. Although this property doesn’t have its own swimming pool, the Tarvia Gardens communal pools are literately a 2 sec walk across the road from the villa. These two pools (one children’s) are of good size and never got over crowded, with the amenity of a bar/restaurant on hand for ice lollies and drinks.

Food shops really couldn’t be closer, with a mid sized super market a short 10 min walk away, plus a modern shopping mail approx 15 min walk, including a big supermarket and cinema complex.

Tavira is a manageable 20-25 min walk from Tarvia Gardens (slightly down hill). We tended to catch a taxi back which was well worth it for the mere 5 euros it cost. The centre of Tavira itself is a beautiful old Portuguese fishing settlement based both sides an estuary. Plenty of good restaurants hidden down quaint single track or pedestrian streets, amongst old Portuguese town houses with plenty of character (no major restaurant chains here!). Although it technically doesn’t have a beach, the popular Island of Tavira (with huge long sandy beach) lies at the end of this estuary, accessible via a cheap return ferry from the heart of Tavira, leaving every half hour throughout the day.

Although we didn’t hire a car, there are other good beaches we visited in taxis near by (again not expensive) and even the Spanish border.

The property owner Fay was also very helpful, informative and accommodating with any questions we had prior to this holiday.

Overall it you are looking for a family holiday in a more traditional area of the Algarve, in a good sized, comfortable and value for money villa, something a little different to the more commercial areas of this region, with fantastically long spacious beaches and a novel way of getting there, you can’t go wrong with this apartment in Tavira!

Great Location.

Enjoyable week in Tavira Gardens. Well equipped villa, spacious and comfortable. Good restaurant in the lovely pool area. Tavira was typically Portuguese with many lovely bars and restaurants. Good supermarket 5 minutes walk away. Regular trains from Tavira station, and local buses, although we had car hire which was useful here.

Stunning and relaxing.

My husband and I stayed at this fabulous villa for an extended long weekend. From the moment that you arrive you feel at HOME. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, and relaxing.

The town is within walking distance from the villa. We thoroughly enjoyed visiting some of the local sights around Tavira and sampling some of the local delicacies.

We would highly recommend this villa, which is beautifully equipped with all the essentials for a family holiday.

Great holiday location

We had a lovely relaxing time in Palm Villa, excellent facilities and well equpped. Our grandchildren loved the pool and we found the restaurant and staff on site very helpful, we enjoyed the food and having a quiet drink in the evening. Tavira is a beautiful town, very safe and ideal for families. The beach on Tavira Island are stunning and we all enjoyed the trip over on the boat. We had a great holiday and would definitely recommend your holiday home. Thank you very much.

Excellent Holiday

We had an extremely successful family holiday at Palm Villa in June this year. The Villa is spacious, comfortable and well equiped and the garden was ideal with both areas that are sunny but also plenty of shade, which we needed as the weather was very hot. We made very good use of the barbeque.

The location of the Villa in relation to the pool and restaurant on the complex could not have been better. It was barely a 50 yard walk. The pool was great. Large and pleasantly quiet.

It was also very handy having quite a large supermarket ony 5 minutes walk away - open 7 days a week. The town, which is really good, was about 15 minute walk. We also made use of the local railway station at Porta Nova where we got a train both east to the Spanish border and west into Faro.

All in all a smashing Villa and an excellent holiday.

Choose from various activities or relax in a home from home accommodation. Tavira beach (12km long) has been named one of the Top 10 beaches in the world.

Golf: Our holiday home is the perfect accommodation for golfers wishing to sample the fantastic courses in the Algarve. This region is well known for having the best golfing climate and famous for some of the best golf courses in Europe. Many of the 18 hole courses are within 10-25 minutes drive from the villa and most of them welcomes non-members.

The nearest golf course is Benamor golf, ranked in the top 10 best golf course in Europe and is only 10 minutes drive from the villa. Other reputable golf courses close by are Quinta de Cima (8km) ,Quinta de Ria (8km), Castro Marim (28km).

Monte Rei golf and country club is reportedly the most exclusive and cosmopolitan development in the Algarve, (designed by Jack Nicklaus) set in acres of beautiful country side and lies between Tavira and Vila Real Santo Antonia. Monte Rei golf course is only 15km from the villa. The New Olympic training approved sports and athletics centre located between Vila Real and Monte Gorda has a stadium for track and field, soccer, archery gymnasium and tennis centre.

We kindly request 25% non-refundable deposit on reservation, balance payable 8 weeks prior to arrival, together with £200 fully refundable deposit. This deposit is refundable up to 7-10 days after your stay provided the following provisions are met.
1.No damage or loss is done to the property or contents
2.No linens are lost or damage
3.All keys are returned
4.No excessive cleaning
5.Remote controls are not damage or lost
6.All rubbished are discarded and soiled dishes and pans are washed before departure
7.No charges are incurred due to pets or extra guest staying without the owners permission
8.All charges accrued during your stay ie maid service are paid before departure
9.No guest has to be evicted by our management, owner or the local law enforcement

Please not that all bank charges and fees with money transfer are payable by the holiday maker.

Changeover Day:
Arrival and departure dates are fully flexible. Normally access is from 15.00 and departure is usually about 11.00 am.

The use of gas, water, electric and air-conditioning are included in the rental price (excluding long term rentals)

Towel/linen change and cleaning every 7 days, more changes and cleaning can be requested. The agent will charge the guest directly.
Arrivals after 18.00 hrs and at weekends attracts a fee of £20, this is deducted from your damage deposit.
