Located in the heart of the Beartooth Mountain Range just off the Chief Joseph HWY (296),(Crandall Rd.), just 24 miles to NE Entrance to Yellowstone Park (Silvergate). Just 58 miles NW of Cody, WY. From here you have perfect day trips to experience the Old West.

To the south east lies Cody where you can enjoy the world acclaimed Buffalo Bill Museum or take in a night rodeo, and enjoy the taste of an authentic western town.

To the NW is the NE Entrance to Yellowstone Park and the famous Lamar Valley, home to our wolf packs and buffalo. On the way, visit the old historic mining town of Cooke City, MT and enjoy the Teton like views of Pilot & Index.

To the NE, you will travel the acclaimed Beartooth Hwy with it's mountain sheep, glacier lakes, and spectacular views on your way to Red Lodge, MT. There you will find a charming western town. Stop for lunch or enjoy a hometown brew.

From your cozy bunkhouse you can hike the Lewis and Clark trail, see waterfalls, view the Osprey nests, fish the Clark's Fork of the Yellowstone River (Wyoming's only Designated WILD River), or take a trail ride. A photographer's paradise.

Wonderful Stay

  • 5 of 5

Staying at Flatt Ranch was a wonderful experience. Doug and Karen are great hosts, always available to answer the million questions you may have and give you great ideas as to where to experience the awesomeness of Wyoming. Their own property is great for a hike as well. The accomadations are comfy, clean and more than adequate. They have an outdoor kitchen which is available for use as well. If you are looking for a combination of having a great place to lay your head at night and the outdoor experience of cooking meals outside, then the Flatt Ranch is awesome. Bring a large enough cooler to keep food in as fridge is very small and getting to a grocery store is over an hour away. Had a wonderful time and hope to return some day. Mark & Sue

A cozy room in an unbelievably beautiful spot

  • 5 of 5

What could be better than a cozy room in the mountains? We had everything we needed, plus more available. We didn't use the hot tub or the outdoor kitchen, but took a good look - impressive! We want to return for a week or more; this would be an excellent getaway. Thanks for the temporary roost along the long drive out West!

Perfect Wyoming ranch getaway for two

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I had the pleasure of spending 5 nights in the bunk house. It was perfect for what we were looking for on all accounts. The ranch itself was located in beautiful country. We had amazing views all around us and plenty of wildlife viewing. The room was plenty big for the two of us and had a very welcome county feel. The detail in the decorations and craftsmanship of the building was amazing. Karen and Doug were great hosts. We enjoyed our conversations with them and appreciated all the knowledge they had on a variety of activities for the area. We truly did feel welcome in their home. I enjoyed my coffee each morning on the patio taking in the views of the garden and the company of the ranch animals. Callie their family dog as well as their two horses Feather and Babe. If you love animals you are in for a treat with these loves. Hands down this place exceeded our expectations and have already recommended this to friends wanting to enjoy the beauty Wyoming has to offer.

Doug and Karen were very welcoming! We stayed at the bunkhouse while visiting Yellowstone National Park. The drive to the bunkhouse was a beautiful sight in and of itself. The directions they provided were also very thorough. The bunkhouse was beautiful and cozy, adorned with personal touches that made us feel at home. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

Fantastic Stay With Unbelievable Mountains All Around

  • 5 of 5

Thank you so much Doug and Karen for the amazing hospitality while staying at your bunkhouse. The room was great and you made our stay exceptional. We really enjoyed sharing a drink with you two and it really shows you care about your guests and treat them like family. We would recommend your place to anyone staying in the area as the short drive to the North East Entrance of Yellowstone is convenient. Your place is peaceful and I would stay again if ever in area. Thanks!!
