A modern apartment of 108 sq.m., sleeping six in three bedrooms with two bathrooms (one en-suite). Very well equipped as 'home from home' all-year property. Fitted kitchen including a full-size oven, four plate ceramic hob, extractor, washing machine and head-high fridge/freezer. Living/dining room, balcony with table, chairs and retractable sunshade. Small paved front garden, ideal for early morning breakfast. There are two sunbeds on the balcony or 'Community' ones by the pool (open May 1st - October 31st). A seven minute stroll down to Burriana Beach and a fifteen minute walk from the lively town centre. Facing South-west catching the sun from mid-morning to late evening. Owned outright, so rest assured nothing will come between you and your holiday.

Nerja: A popular resort, readily accessible from Malaga and its international airport, with motorway access to within a mile of the town centre. Nestling in the foothills of the mountains, the old town, with its narrow, vehicle restricted, cobbled streets, offers a more relaxed holiday from that found in the big resorts further along the coast. With small picturesque bays, the famous 'Balcon de Europa' promenade, numerous small shops, bars and restaurants, and its wonderful all year round climate, Nerja has something for all seasons, especially for families and the more mature holiday maker.

Local Excursions: The Nerja Caves, Spain's third biggest tourist attraction, are well worth a visit. A extensive network of fascinating underground caverns with the World's biggest stalactites, plus an auditorium and stage where the annual music and arts festival takes place. Nearby is Maro, a picturesque village with panoramic views across the sea and a small secluded beach, invisible from the cliff top. The mountains shelter many small attractive villages, notably Frigiliana with its restored Roman town and narrow vehicle-free cobbled streets and the 'lost' hamlet of Acebuchal, originally abandoned in 1948. Further afield is the historic city of Grenada with its famous Alhambra Palace (pre-booking advised), or perhaps a trip to Malaga and the Picasso Museum. Marbella and Puerto Banus also provide a great day out, as do visits to Mijas, Antequara and the El Torcal National Park. For winter visitors, the 'Sierra Nevada' ski resort, near Granada, is about two hours drive away.

Getting There: 'Easyjet' fly from Gatwick, Stansted, Southend, Luton, Bristol, Nottingham, Liverpool, Newcastle and Belfast; 'Flybe' from Southampton, Exeter and Birmingham; 'Jet2' from Leeds/Bradford and Manchester, and 'Thomsonfly' from sixteen UK regional airports. For those in Scotland, 'Ryanair' fly from Edinburgh and Glasgow. For transport to and from Malaga Airport, our local Agent can book a taxi, MPV or minibus (most with air conditioning). We can also recommend a car hire company we regularly use at Malaga airport.

About Derek or Mandy Maddison

My wife and I first went to Nerja about eighteen years ago and decided 'this is for us'. Although we have three properties in the Burriana area, all on the HomeAway site, we are not travel or rental agents, we run them privately as our long-term pension fund. We hope to retire out there someday, in the meantime we maintain and look after them as anyone would their own home.

Situated in the 'Burriana' area of the resort, on the eastern side of Nerja. 'Pueblo Mediterraneo' is just a five minute walk down to Burriana Beach, the main beach of the resort. Nerja is approximately 35 miles, or less than an hour east of Malaga, sheltering in the foothills of the Sierra de Almijara Mountains.

Other Activities: Aqua Velis Water Park is about 15 minutes away near Velez-Malaga.
