The area is known for the famous Beartooth Highway, taking travelers from Red Lodge to Cooke City, the northeast entrance to Yellowstone Park. In the early summer experienced skiers take to the steep mountains on the pass. Miles of hiking are within minutes of this rustic yet beautiful place. The winter offers visitors an intimate yet advanced ski area, Red Lodge Ski Mountain, which is six miles from the cabin. Equally important is that the laundromat is only a block away!
Red Lodge has been our home since 1986 and we will provide you with information about recreational opportunities and services in the area. We hope you visit us soon in the Beartooth Mountains, the highest range in Montana. Come to enjoy the Montana Moose Cabin and reconnect with what's really important to you.
I live and work in Red Lodge as a mental health therapist. This cabin is away to help others enjoy our beautiful town while enjoying the comforts of home and the luxury of a soothing environment. As a traveler, I know what I enjoy in a vacation setting and put that into the Montana Moose Cabin.
Donna Langston purchased this cabin in 2014
This log cabin is apart of Red Lodge history, being built in the 1930's. It has a feeling of authenticity with a proximity to town and the mountains.
We are so glad you enjoyed the Montana Moose Cabin, it was a pleasure having you. Thank you so much for leaving the cabin in such wonderful condition, do come back!
We absolutely loved Montana Moose Cabin. It was cozy and welcoming! The cabin was filled with luxury as well; nice linen sheets, shampoo and soaps, comfortable bed, delicious olive oil, TV and wifi. It's any easy walk to town and short drive to Yellowstone. The local deer were a nice touch.
We highly recommend and will return on our next trip.
Everything was as described. Self check-in was super easy and the place was very clean and well-equipped. It's walking distance from town and so relaxing!
We had the most lovely time. The cabin was full of surprises and sweet touches. We arrived to find music playing. There were fixin's for s'mores, espresso ready to be made and wireless available. The location was perfect, near enough to town but still quiet and serene. A perfect experience.
The Montana Moose Cabin was perfect for my husband and I. It was in a great location and had everything (and more!) that we could have needed. Donna was wonderful to work with. I hope that we can stay here again if we make it back up that way!
Donna is a very good person to work with. The cabin is everything that it was advertised to be and more! A cute, clean and cozy little place, not to mention close to town! Hope that we will get to return and stay here again. Thanks Donna!
We had a fabulous 3-night stay in the Moose Cabin. When comparing the various lodging options in Red Lodge, it became pretty clear that the Moose Cabin would be perfect for us; we were lucky to find a 3-night opening at the end of June. Most of the hotels in Red Lodge are either a lot more expensive or a little more expensive with mediocre or poor reviews. Among the Red Lodge vacation rentals, the Moose Cabin is a clear standout both in terms of what it has to offer and the cost. The cabin is at the south end of town, about one block from the main highway (Broadway), just behind a newly built church. Despite its proximity to the highway, it is a very quiet location. It’s built and furnished to give three distinct areas (living room, kitchen and bedroom) in addition to the bathroom, which was clean, modern, and in great shape. The whole cabin is comfortably furnished, with fun decor, as the online pictures show. The kitchen is fully equipped, includes a full-size refrigerator, and even stocks many ingredients for cooking and dining. If you are much more than six feet tall, there are a couple of places you may need to remember to duck slightly, and a very heavy person might find the shower stall a little cramped, but for us, everything was perfect. Some of the features that we especially enjoyed were 1) parking just a few feet from the cabin; 2) not worrying about outside noise coming in, or our own sounds disturbing any neighbors; 3) lots of reading material about Red Lodge and the surrounding area (including hiking books and maps); 4) high quality bedding and towels; 5) a “yummy” welcome surprise (that may differ depending on the season); 6) Netflix; 7) ample storage space in bathroom, bedroom and kitchen; 8) communication with our wonderful hostess, Donna, was friendly and efficient; 9) being able to zoom up to Beartooth Pass early each morning for spectacular hiking. We highly recommend the Moose Cabin as part of your great trip to Red Lodge, the Beartooths, and beyond.
