Incredible beauty and fun-filled days await you. Stunning home completely renovated to create a wonderful, relaxing vacation experience on Lake Michigan in Northport. Our home is impeccably maintained. The home’s interior has all new furnishings, top quality beds and bedding, updated appliances, new bathrooms, flooring, and laundry room. We had you in mind when we rebuilt the home. The home is fully equipped with amenities for your comfort and enjoyment.
Bring your flip-flops and enjoy the sand between your toes while sitting in the chairs on the beach while sipping a glass of wine. Bring sand toys to play on elevated beach section. Lots of skipping stones on the beach as well. We provide two kayaks so that you can enjoy the water. Or just take a long walk along Lake Michigan’s beach and find a Petoskey Stone.
A dining set that seats 5 people with an umbrella near the grill is great for outdoor eating. Eight Conversation chairs with small tables are on the deck, which expands the length of the home so that you can experience sunrises each day. After your relaxing day, please take a moment to stargaze. The stars are completely amazing at night.
There is a shed available for you to store your outdoor toys. There is also an outdoor shower to rinse off the sand after your day in the sun.
Enter through the door to a beautiful view of Lake Michigan through a wall of clear glass. Upon entering you will see a lovely stone fireplace with a cozy living area, TV, kitchen area with all stainless steel appliances and dining table. To your right, there is a place to hang your jacket and a half-bath.
After enjoying the breathtaking water views, walk through the hallway to see a full-length mirror reflecting the lake. You can stop to grab a beach towel and a glass of wine in the nook before you decide which bedroom will be yours for your stay. The interior designers designed each bedroom for your comfort. Every bedroom sleeps two people, has hooks for your swimsuit and towel, and has mesh drawers and closets with hangers for you to unpack. A tabletop with a mirror provides a place for your toiletries. Lake views from almost every room.
To continue the enjoyment of the blue lake, the bathrooms have been decorated in all beach glass colors. Enjoy a warm bath in the tub or nice shower after a fun-filled day of outdoor activities.
Once the sun sets, go to the lower level of the home to play a game or watch TV. The lower level is equipped with a kid play area, a table and chairs for adults, conversation seating, a TV, and a DVD player. The get-away fourth bedroom is also located in the lower level along with the second full bathroom and laundry room. Again, you will not be disappointed with the views. You can see the lake from the wall of windows.
My husband and I have been married for 19 years. We have three amazing kids and all of us love to travel. We live in Ann Arbor, but love to go “Up North” during the summer. We love the carefree days, roaming the beach, frolicking in the bay, hiking on the trails, playing in the water, and then enjoying the beach with a glass of wine. We have been coming to Northport every year since 1997. In the early years it was just the two of us with our books and bikes. Now we visit with our three kids. We have been fortunate to travel to most of the US and abroad. However Northport remains one of our favorite places to travel. We are excited to share our home with you so that this can become one of your favorite places as well.
Michelle Crumm purchased this house in 2011
Our mom and dad moved to Northport in 1997 after they retired. All of the siblings and spouses and grandkids visit each year. With growing families, we decided to get a place of our own, but wanted to be close enough that we could still enjoy the family time together. This home is just a short distance from family. Our kids can walk to Grandmas.
We love the sand on the beach and the ability to see a sunrise from the deck. It is close enough to everything, but far enough to relax. The stars at night are breathtaking. The home itself has a view of Lake Michigan from almost every place in the entire house. We love the long walks, hiking trails, tennis courts, playground, basketball court, kayaks, and star gazing that are all accessible without driving in a car to enjoy.
A brief note to let you know our family had a wonderful gathering at your Cherry Homes Cottage...You and Aaron have done so much to ensure that each guest is comfortable and has everything they need...even the smallest has a fun child size table! Since our family is located in several states it was a real treat for us (the grandparents) to have one on one undivided attention for a week. We learned things we did not know and some we didn't need to know. Thank you for sharing your Northport home.
The house was clean, organized and modern just as advertised. It was also well supplied with all the comforts of home. The only bummer was that we weren't allowed to use the fireplace which had been one of the things we were looking forward to. The view was amazing and the neighborhood was very peaceful and serene! We did some wine tasting at nearby wineries and shopping in Suttons Bay. Thanks VRBO and home owners!
We walked in & were amazed by the wall-to-wall view of the lake! The home was spotless & beautifully-appointed. The owners have been thorough in appealing to all ages, from the Cherry Republic gift box to DVD's, to the kid-sized table, bikes, kayaks, wine accessories, etc. We enjoyed the book that chronicles the home's make-over as well as the book for guest comments. We spent the weekend there for our son's Northport wedding & were quite comfortable! Nothing beats going to sleep by the sound of lapping waves...
I would stay there again in a heartbeat!!!
The house has a fabulous view - we felt like we were on an ocean cruise when we sat at the dining table!! Viewing the sunrise is a must. Very clean, no clutter and had all we needed to make meals and enjoy our cocktail hours on the deck. Grocery/liquor store and a bakery are only 10 minutes away - easy drive. The layout of the house provides for gathering together as well as spending quiet private time. Full bathrooms on both levels was a real plus and the beds were very comfortable. Lots of cute towns and wonderful restaurants to visit and the trip to Sleeping Bear Dunes was a lot of fun.
I have used VRBO the last five years and this house was by far the nicest rental. I highly recommend this property!
Our stay at Michelle's place was wonderful! An absolutely beautiful location that's away from all the busyness of bigger towns but those bigger towns are still easily accessible! Everything you need is provided and the home is beautiful.
I would highly recommend this place if you are looking to get away and enjoy the loveliness of northern Michigan!
Owners have truly thought of everything! Beautifully appointed home, from furnishings to decor to use of space. Close enough to access all that Leelanau County and Traverse City have to offer yet perfect for coffee with the sunrise, relaxing with a book, BBQ on the patio or kayaking on Lake Michigan. Can't wait to come back!
It’s a beautiful and professionally remodeled property. The view of the lake is very beautiful. Not far away from Traverse City. We enjoyed out time there.
We had a problem with the water system, and the dishwasher initially. Father of the owner (Don) - who lives close by- was able to help quickly. Thank you Don
We would recommend this property without hesitation.
Location, location, location! We are located on the bay side of Leelanau Peninsula right on Lake Michigan. If you want the “Up North Beach” experience without the wind, we’ve got it.
