4 bedroom,sleeps ten, near two beaches, close to rustic rides horseback riding

This charming 4 bedroom, 2-bath(plus outside shower) ranch house (with a garden apartment entrance) is located on West Side Drive on 1.6 acres of beautiful cleared fields adjacent to Rustic Rides horse farm.There is a small pond on the property and many ponds and waterways throughout the island. We have lots of Adirondack chairs and a gas grill available for a large backyard and a large deck entertaining Enjoy the pastoral view along with visits from ducks, geese, ostriches and other wildlife. The roosters will be sure to wake you for breakfast.We are providing ear plugs for the 2017 season. We have stocked the library with fishing, cooking, art books and a few great classic novels. Grab a good book or a show on a 29” flat screen TV via Direct,TV or DVD.

We are within walking distance to Green way Trials, Cooneymus Beach, and adjacent to Rustic Rides horseback riding farm. Walk out the front door and book a ride on a horse right next door at rustic rides to Dories cove and ride along the beach. An island favorite attraction. Tell Tim you are staying with us and you get a $5.00 per person discount

We are 3.3miles, a 20 minute car ride from the ferry.

we are adding horseshoes and keep posted about us building a chicken coop

You will find many properties do not include linen. We have a full compliment of linens and towels excepting beach towels.

Please be advised that the $175 housekeeping fee applies for weekly visits. If your stay is two weeks house keeping will come on the Sunday in between weeks. $100.00 fee applies for short stays of three days or less.You will be required to send us a $500.00 damages deposit check in advance. We only deposit this check if required. You must be 26 or older to book the proerty

What makes this house unique

This property is central to everything on the island but nice and far away from the maddening crowds.

Pond in the back, horseback riding next door, Rodmans Hollow a mile away(the best nature walk on the island) and an underused beach at Dories cove that you can call your own.The beach is rocky but swimable. Coneymus cove is the beach on the other side of our property one mile away and is a favorite spot for nighttime beach fires. You need a town permit for beach fires. We will have permit applications in the house for 2017

Then there are all the bigger bright spots that everyone knows. Be sure to go to Mansion Beach for the best swimming on the island

Beautiful serenity!

We had a great trip to Block Island this past weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this beautiful home. The property overlooks the horse farm, which our daughter loved, and it had everything we could have wanted in a getaway. The house is nicely decorated, lots of windows and natural light with amazing blinds. We loved waking up and walking to the nearby beach. We decided not to rent or bring our car this trip and calling a taxi worked out just as well. (We loved Peter Pan taxi!) We look forward to our next stay on Block Island and we will certainly plan to stay here again!

Memorial Day weekend getaway

My family recently visited block island for the first time (10 of us) and the house was the perfect size and location, comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated. The island is beautiful with plenty of outdoor activities, great restaurants and beautiful beaches! The horse farm next door was lovely but definitely bring earplugs if you expect any sleep as those roosters are crowing ALL day and night long from about 2 am until 10 pm! The outside of the house and yard could have been a bit more picked up as there were broken screens laying around, a broken chaise lounge chair, a jeep in the yard filled with rusty junk and garbage and boxes of unpacked household items in the outdoor shower I assume used as a storage place.

Owner's Response: Diane, Thank you for your note. The items that you mentioned definitly needed to go and we picked up right after your stay. Our refuse guy didn't make it to our properrty until after the wekend. The junk was removed right after your stay. The jeep is our mascot , but some don't love it so we'll ponder on that one. We know the roosters are noisy that's why we give people a heads up in our description. Going forward wea re going to leave some ear plugs. we appreciate your input and we are glad you had a good time

Wished WE Could Have Stayed Longer

My family and I have loved Block Island since I was a little girl --I now have a 33 year old son and a 3 year old grandson! Anyway, we have not visited the island for about 10 years and finally had an opportunity to visit in August. What a time we had. There was plenty of room for me and my husband and son and grandson. The house is nicely appointed and the deck and grill provided for easy cooking and socializing. Will definitely want to go back next summer!

Peaceful interlude with nature all around

Our family of five thoroughly enjoyed the newly renovated property in the middle of Block Island. Bikes and running were ways to explore and get fit at the same time, but we did have a car for beach stuff transport and hot days. Downstairs bedroom provided privacy for a young couple. Comfy beds, nice flooring and stocked kitchen. Spent lots of deck time, too. Saw many deer! Had a great (legal/permitted) fire on the beach on our last night...two quite nearby for this purpose...and we definitely used the s'mores ingredients kindly provided to us.

3 girlfriends had a lovely time in this Block island home. Very newly and beautifully renovated and the owners were very accommodating and helpful. Very clean! Lots of sleeping room (although we only used a bit of it) and a separate apartment downstairs. We did not bring a car and just rode bikes everywhere but I think for most ppl a car would be helpful, as the house is 3 miles from New Shoreham. Beach within walking distance was great and almost empty. Go watch the sunset with a picnic there!

It's nice to have a beach all to yourself, and yes it's a bit out of the way, so even on a private island it's nice to get away form the maddening crowd. A car gives you plenty of opportunity to see more, but biking maskes it a true fitness experience Come again!!
