Excellent third floor apartment in a great location!

Loved our stay here as the location is excellent. So close to San Sebastián and all the restaurants there. Views were divine. I would definitely stay here again.

Stylish and Central

  • 4 of 5

My husband & I spent 4 nights in this penthouse apartment in Old San Juan. The location couldn't have been better. The apartment is beautiful & the bedroom bed very comfortable; we did not try the futon-style beds in the living room. The patio is nearly as big as the living room, with amazing sunset views & comfortable couches. The air conditioning is superb and quiet, a real plus in this climate. Water pressure was excellent. There is a SuperMax grocery store a few blocks away by foot.

We were a bit disappointed with the kitchen. It needed some extra cleaning attention, possibly because we arrived just after the San Sebastian Festival. More important to us was that it had no appliance for making toast & no drip coffeemaker, which made preparation of breakfast challenging for us Americans. We finally got the hang of making coffee in the French Press, but it wasn't the same quality. An upgrade of the kitchen appliances would be our suggestion.

Owner's Response: I felt terrible about your impression on kitchen cleanliness. Being "clean freak" myself I cannot understand how this happened. Nana (the cleaner) has been working with me for over 20 years and knows how important it is to me. As soon as you left a deep cleaning was performed. The french press is the preferred way to make coffee for me and many other americans (as well as international coffee experts). If you look at Sol 13's amenity list, it is the coffee making device we advertise. I wish you had mentioned it. I would have happily explained how to use it properly for amazing brew or gotten a drip coffee machine for your stay. I like to have happy guests. Respectfully, Paloma

Beautiful apartment in Old San Juan

Beautiful apartment close to shopping and restaurants in Old San Juan. And as a bonus- beautiful views over the rooftops especially at sunset. Paloma is a super host; very serviceminded and helpful and made our stay in San Juan extra memorable! We will be back:)

Fantastic get away

  • 5 of 5

The sunsets in particular were fantastic. It was wonderful in the evenings to watch the boats in the distance. The breeze made being outside very comfortable after 4:40-5 each day. During the heat of the day, the tall ceilings and A/C units keep the inside of the apartment cool and inviting. The large master bed was firm, and I slept well each night under a light comforter. My teenage daughters each slept on one of the futons in the living area. The space was just right for the 4 of us.

The location of the apartment is ideal. It is only a few blocks from numerous restaurants, bars and ice cream parlors. Shopping is near by. El Morro is a short, easy walk. San Cristobal is a 15 minute walk. All of Old San Juan is easily accessible. Our favorite find was the Museo de los Americas, two blocks behind the apartment. Inside its beautiful courtyard is a wonderful coffee shop and musical rehearsals open to the public on Saturday mornings. A great place to sit, sip, and listen to the sounds of Puerto Rico.

Uber was available for reliable and inexpensive travel to the airport. Otherwise, there is a taxi stand about 2 blocks from the apartment. Wear good walking shoes because the uneven cobblestones are part of the experience.

Our host was very attentive and helpful with all we needed. We can recommend this property and destination.

Amazing stay

  • 5 of 5

My family fell in love with Old San Juan and this apartment was a big reason why. The apartment is comfortable, the AC is cool, and the roof top patio is relaxing with an amazing view.

Old San Juan is a great walking city with a lot of resturaunt within 2-4 short blocks from here. With the fort, and the governors castle easy walks as well. The only time we used our rental car was the 1 rainy day we wanted to get out of Old San Juan (next time we wont rent a car for the whole week. just use Taxi's and rent a car as needed).

The owner was very responsive to all our communications and there weren't any surprises.

We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Car: not necessary

Old San Juan is one of the must go places when your are in Puerto Rico. It has more than 500 years of history in this Spanish colonial town with nice stores, restaurants, cafes and historic buildings and churches. Walk around the streets, visit El Morro Fort, old churches, go to the stores and have lunch at one of the many fabulous restaurants.
