I am an emergency medicine physician working in SF. I reside on the second floor of the building and occasionally rent out my top floor apartment when I'm not reserving it for myself, family or guests.
Christopher J. Freye MD purchased this apartment in 2001
I loved to stay in this spacious, personally furnished and welcoming place on the top floor of a beautiful, historic building in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood in walking distance to Golden Gate Bridge, Chrissy Fields and Palace of Fine Arts but also close to grocery stores, boutiques and busses. The apartment has everything a traveller would wish. The host is very nice. I would definitely recommend the place and I look forward to staying there again soon.
We enjoyed a week in this apartment, in the Pacific Heights neighborhood within walking distances to lots of shops, restaurants, and the Presidio. The apartment is well maintained and supplied with everything we needed. We would definitely visit again.
Comfortable, casual place to stay in San Francisco! It was perfect for our family of five. We stayed for three weeks and would definitely want to stay here again. The neighborhood is great and the owner is very nice.
Christopher is such a great host and his apartment is located in a perfect location. After long hours of work (and sightseeing) it was great to come back "home" to a quiet neighborhood and relax with a glass of wine on the balcony. Only a few short blocks to the muni stops made this location easy to see all of the city. If you are looking for a fantastic meal check out the tapas bar Zarzuela's on the corner of Hyde and Union. It's a must try. Thank you Christopher for making us feel at home and for the hospitality. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely apartment we called home for a week!
Great third floor apartment in a Victorian. Separate entrance. Very quiet street in an upscale, safe neighborhood. Plenty of room for my husband and I and our two boys, age 10 and 14.
Loved the location so close to places to exercise! Quick few blocks walk to the Lyon Steps and two blocks further to the trails in the Presidio. Nice walk down to the Palace of Fine Arts with its beautiful grounds.
The place if perfect if you do not have a car. It is about a 5 minute walk to the bus. Easy to get anywhere. Parking near the apartment can be a bit challenging, but not impossible. If you do have a car, it is about a 5 minute drive to the Golden Gate Bridge.
Lots of cute stores and restaurants of every type of cuisine within an easy walk from the apartment. You could never run out of places to try. Presidio Pizza was a favorite with our kids. Noah's Bagels (NY-style) was also a big hit. The apartment was roomy enough to bring back take-out and eat at the large dining room table or to have a glass of wine on the small terrace and enjoy the city views.
Christopher was a wonderful host! There were extra bedding, coffee and wine for us to enjoy. I would not want to keep this place a secret. We would definitely come back!
We enjoyed walking around the neighborhood and seeing the views of San Francisco Bay. We also found many bus lines going downtown or through the presidio to the marina area with views of the Golden Gate Bridge. Recommend it most highly
This Pacific Heights location is ideal for exploring the city. Public transit is just a few blocks away, you are near the Presidio Park which has multiple trails and enables you to walk on trails to the Golden Gate bridge if you're adventuresome.
