I am an emergency medicine physician working in SF. I reside on the second floor of the building and occasionally rent out my top floor apartment when I'm not reserving it for myself, family or guests.
Christopher J. Freye MD purchased this apartment in 2001
We have stayed at this property twice, the first time for a month, the second time for two months. That in itself should be testimony to our pleasure in renting and being there. Christopher, the host, is friendly, welcoming, helpful, and never intrusive. The apartment is roomy, airy and comfortable. As for the neighborhood, we’ve never lived in a more enjoyable urban locale. It truly has everything, from the best bakery in town, gym, library, two movie houses, food shopping, many good restaurants, and bookstores. It has easy access to the city’s public transportation, which gets you wherever you want to go fast and cheaply. [Get a clipper card] Having a car would be both a nuisance and un-necessary. And, it’s a lovely walk down to the Bayside. You’ll want to stay here.
Terrific location, easy access to all points in SF. Host very accommodating and quick communicator to ensure we had best experience. Also pretty close to some good food and coffee. Balcony gets morning sun, perfect for coffee. Bright and airy top floor of a house.
Steeper stairs are like everywhere else in SF, as are funny angles of the roof lines - so caution if mobility a major issue.
This apartment was so clean and tastefully-furnished. The owner even provided suggestions as to what to do and where to go for our four day stay there. I would recommend this historic place for anyone wishing to be in a quiet location right in the heart of SF. We took buses everywhere and did not miss having a car.
I loved to stay in this spacious, personally furnished and welcoming place on the top floor of a beautiful, historic building in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood in walking distance to Golden Gate Bridge, Chrissy Fields and Palace of Fine Arts but also close to grocery stores, boutiques and busses. The apartment has everything a traveller would wish. The host is very nice. I would definitely recommend the place and I look forward to staying there again soon.
We enjoyed a week in this apartment, in the Pacific Heights neighborhood within walking distances to lots of shops, restaurants, and the Presidio. The apartment is well maintained and supplied with everything we needed. We would definitely visit again.
Comfortable, casual place to stay in San Francisco! It was perfect for our family of five. We stayed for three weeks and would definitely want to stay here again. The neighborhood is great and the owner is very nice.
This Pacific Heights location is ideal for exploring the city. Public transit is just a few blocks away, you are near the Presidio Park which has multiple trails and enables you to walk on trails to the Golden Gate bridge if you're adventuresome. Restaurants, grocery stores, cinemas, music venues, bars, coffee shops, boutiques, spa services, banks, pharmacies, tennis courts and parks are all within easy walking distance. Public transportation is readily available on Muni to prime tourist venues such as Golden Gate Bridge, Fisherman's Wharf, Golden Gate Park with all of its museums, Ocean Beach to watch the sunset, and Union Square for shopping and/or dining. Depending on the season you may want to go to the opera, ballet, symphony, or hear live music of your liking. The neighborhood is safe and quiet so no need to worry about being out at night walking.
