Our stay at Onancock was wonderful! The house is perfect, you thought of everything.
This rental is in a very quiet, serene location, but within easy distance to services. It was clean and well-equipped. It felt like home immediately! We LOVED being there...so cute!
Stayed for 7 nights, we wanted to be in the middle of the Delmarva peninsular so that we could go north or south ( tick). The house is really well positioned with wonderful sunsets, birds, squirrels and deer. We are keen bird watchers and enjoyed seeing the osprey and kingfishers which were regular visitors. Tina is really helpful and the booking arrangements were easy. Would have given this five stars, but for a few niggles inside the property. I think the intention is to eat al fresco, but a combination of weather and Mosquitos prevented us from doing so, the eating arrangements internally are on the kitchen bar, to sit comfortably you have your back to the view ( not ideal) to sit facing the view is not comfortable as you bang your knees on the drawers. A few more kitchen aids would also help, for example, we had only one dishwasher tablet, travelling from the UK meant that we didn't want to buy stuff and not use it. We did buy some aluminium foil as we had nothing to wrap food for cooking or in the refrigerator.
All told it is a lovely property, handy for a drive into Onancock which is a pretty town and a short drive to Walmart for provisions. We had lots of days out at nature reserves and beaches. It was lovely to watch the sun go down with a chilled glass of wine.
If you are looking to relax, reconnect and enjoy nature, this is the VRBO for you. Like many, our lives are hectic. We are a busy family of four. Our schedules are jam packed with meetings, school events, practices and obligations. This house is a little oasis away from all that hustle and bustle. The owner, Tina, is communicative, professional and readily available. The home is clean, modern and well stocked.
We have just returned from our second trip to Tina's place and can not wait to return next year. I would highly recommend this VRBO to small families, couples, or a small group of friends looking for a "glamping" type experience. Kayaking, crabbing, campfires, smores, dog friendly, lazy day perfection!
Peaceful and serene really do describe this place accurately! Right on the water, and ideal for me and my husband, and our Golden Retriever. We stayed for 5 nights. Very private, very comfortable, house well taken care of. Everything provided for a relaxing stay. We swam off the dock (including the dog, who loved it!), and barbecued while watching the sun set over the water. Tina was great and came back right away if we had any questions. We would stay here again if we are in the area!
My family of 4 with 2 kids ages 11 and 1 stayed for 4 days. We wished it could have been longer! The loft was a perfect get away for the older one and it didn't really phase the younger one which I was a little worried about. The veiws are AMAZING! The pictures do not do it justice. The water is shallow and nice for little ones to play in. The kayak was fun for us to try out. It's so quiet and peaceful! Tina was incredibly helpful and accommodating. She had even accommodated for things we didn't think of! Onancock is also a neat little town with a lot of character and worth checking out. We loved our stay and hope to come again next year!
My family stayed here for a couple days in July, 2016 for a family reunion. My father also kept commenting on the craftsmanship of the house. My father being a retired carpenter knows a well-built home when he sees one. I found my father faithfully every day watching the sunrise and set from the swing. My husband loved using the kayak to go kayaking in the morning. Kids and I just had wonderful time going into town or just hanging out on the deck. We are already making plans to hopefully stay here next year. Tina was so accommodating. Any questions we had she got back to us right away. Beautiful area and home. Can’t wait till next year.
