A full two page story of the 81 and 86 year old Riordan brothers returning to their childhood home after it was buried for over 60 years was featured in the November's 2014 issue of Arizona Highways magazine. That story is on the link below "Owners Info" near the bottom of this page.

About Glenn Odegard

As a fifth generation general contractor and carpenter, I bought the house with the intent to restore to it's original state to preserve a unique piece of Jerome and Arizona history.

Pictured along with myself (on right) is Neil Riordan(on left). Neil, now age 81 along with his brother John , now aged 86, who grew up in this house from 1931 until 1953. Click on the second link below to read the 2 page article in ARIZONA HIGHWAYS MAGAZINE about the families life and their escape when the mudslide struck the house while living inside.

Unequivocally the absolute best place to stay in Jerome.

  • 5 of 5

This property provides an unparalleled authentic historic restoration and fascinating backstory going back over 119 years. Coupled modern conveniences, the house produces the highest views from above while offering easy walking convenience to access the town.

After being abandoned and buried in mud for over sixty years, it was painstakingly and authentically restored to its original victorian splendor. Furrnished with antiques honoring the original decor you feel as if you have been transplanted back in time over 100 years.

Would highly recommend this rental to others for those that want to create a lifetime memory that will be remembered for all who visit.

Meticulously Restored Beauty

  • 5 of 5

Staying at the Riordan House was a delightful walk back in time. The two bedrooms were comfortable, the views stunning, the owner a delight to work with. Very enjoyable stay and highly recommended. Do bring a car that can manage the tricky Jerome roads. 😊

Classic Jerome

  • 5 of 5

For anyone looking to experience what it was like to live in Jerome back in the early 1900's, this is the place! Glenn did a magnificent job restoring this property to it's original grandeur both in craftsmanship & decor. The porch & patio area have the best views in town due to it's location on the 2nd highest street. Even though high on the hill, the walk down to town is easy using some original residential stairways & boardwalks close to the house. I like the location because you can spend time in the hustle & bustle of town, and then enjoy the quiet & seclusion of the house after only a 5 minute walk up the hill. I've stayed at various properties in Jerome over the years and this by far is my new favorite. I was only able to stay a night this time passing through town, but I'm looking forward to a return extended stay soon.

Adventure, Historic, Amazing Views!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed with a group of girlfriends for a short weekend at the Riordan House. We enjoyed the adventuresome ride up to the top of the hill to discover the amazing historic property! The views were second to none with ample patio seating for many! The interior of the home was filled with antiques, which were enjoyed by all. Our stay was very comfortable and Glenn ensured we were perfectly set up. We want to go again and maybe even bring our husbands next time. As a first time VRBO user, the entire experience was exceptional!
