About the property

Accurately Historically Restored With Functioning Antiques and Fantastic Views

Step back into 1898 with all the comforts of modern day conveniences. 2 bedroom, one bath, with 1200 square feet of wood deck and flagstone patio overlooking the center of the Town of Jerome and the entire Verde Valley. Easy (vertical) walking distance to the center of town shops, wineries, restaurants. Great year round weather and peaceful mountain air evenings. Stay in a house that is 118 years old buried in mud and abandoned for 60 years.

The John Riordan House is the highest rentable space available in Jerome. It is located directly above the center of town with fantastic views of the tourists and valley below. Please perform an internet search for much more complete information and interesting history on 'The John Riordan House, Jerome.'

A full two page story of the 81 and 86 year old Riordan brothers returning to their childhood home after it was buried for over 60 years was featured in the November's 2014 issue of Arizona Highways magazine. That story is on the link below "Owners Info" near the bottom of this page.

About Glenn Odegard

As a fifth generation general contractor and carpenter, I bought the house with the intent to restore to it's original state to preserve a unique piece of Jerome and Arizona history.

Pictured along with myself (on right) is Neil Riordan(on left). Neil, now age 81 along with his brother John , now aged 86, who grew up in this house from 1931 until 1953. Click on the second link below to read the 2 page article in ARIZONA HIGHWAYS MAGAZINE about the families life and their escape when the mudslide struck the house while living inside.

Glenn Odegard purchased this house in 2012

Amazing views from the porch!

  • 5 of 5

The house was beautiful but the most incredible thing was the view from the huge porch. We spent lots of time sitting out there, even watched a Monsoon lightning storm roll in across the mountain ranges. Loved our stay here and would stay again.

Perfect Jerome stay

  • 5 of 5

Loved my stay at the Riordan home. The view was incredible, home was clean and comfortable. Brought my 17yr old daughter who actually put her phone down sat outside in the hammocks and was taking in the views and serenity this place has to offer.

Charming & comfortable

  • 5 of 5

This is a lovely antique home filled with period furnishings and a wealth of information on the house and town of Jerome. The deck and patio are wonderful for eating and enjoying the evening overlooking the lights of Cottonwood below. Our teenagers loved lazily swinging in the swings and reading. Would recommend a vehicle that can handle the steep narrow streets of town! The owner was very pleasant and helpful!
