A full two page story of the 81 and 86 year old Riordan brothers returning to their childhood home after it was buried for over 60 years was featured in the November's 2014 issue of Arizona Highways magazine. That story is on the link below "Owners Info" near the bottom of this page.
As a fifth generation general contractor and carpenter, I bought the house with the intent to restore to it's original state to preserve a unique piece of Jerome and Arizona history.
Pictured along with myself (on right) is Neil Riordan(on left). Neil, now age 81 along with his brother John , now aged 86, who grew up in this house from 1931 until 1953. Click on the second link below to read the 2 page article in ARIZONA HIGHWAYS MAGAZINE about the families life and their escape when the mudslide struck the house while living inside.

Wonderful stay. Walk to everything in Jerome, finish the day with a view that can't be beat.
My daughter and I had a great time, love the house. Had small problem when we first got here, but Glenn took care of it. Will return. Carol & Kristy
We enjoyed our stay in the John Riordan House very much. The owner Glenn was very easy to work with. He sent very specific instructions prior to our stay. The property was exactly as described. We also enjoyed reading all of the historical information about the home during our stay. Lastly the view was spectacular and our children enjoyed using the swing.
In town for Ashbrook at the Spirit Room. The Riordan house is everything as advertised. Amazing views, great 5 min walk to the city center and the home was charming. Only there 1 night but plan on being back for another on our next rendezvous to Jerome. Owner was great to deal with.
We took a group of 19 women to Jerome for a mini reunion and to partake of the Jerome Ghost Walk. We rented 4 properties to accommodate all of us and this house was the perfect gathering place for us because of the huge beautiful deck and breathtaking view.
It is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We enjoyed the historical pictures of the house's journey, but loved the modern bathroom and mix of modern and antiques which added to the cozy feel of the whole house.
The owner was incredibly easy to work with and did everything possible to make sure we were comfortable and accommodated. The road to the house is a little tricky, but added to general feel of our entire "spooky" weekend. :)
We would definitely rent again and we are already planning our trip for next year.
