We thoroughly enjoyed the location and the town.
cute and simple
Simple and spacious cottage nestled in a two road peninsula. Quiet. Located a couple houses down from the lighthouse. Simple amenities. Bathroom could use some updating for visual appeal but everything was still in good working order. Easy in and out. The exterior photo with the listing is the lighthouse just up the street, not the cottage/house that is being rented. I would stay again if I ever find myself in the area.
Perfect Location and Great Place
The cottage was clean, and had everything we needed. Owners were friendly and ready to help in case we needed anything. It was very nice to be able to bring our dog. Only complaint would be the wifi, sometimes it worked and sometimes it didn't. We were outside enjoying the weather most of the time we were there so it didn't matter much. Would definitely go back again, great value and location.
It was good value for a good location, but you can expect some shortcomings
The host is very nice. They live in the house behind this cottage. It is an old cottage that they updated. It is a great location and it is very good value. The day we arrived was a very hot day and my daughter and her girlfriend from college where staying in the great room which had a small window shaker AC that just did not keep up. The kids were suffering it was so hot. So I went to the local hardware store and paid $130 for a new window shaker AC and installed it in the great room...so it then had two AC units in this great room and it kept it nice and cool. I am a former ship's engineer so it was easy for me to install the AC window unit. But it was a pain and I knew no amount of complaining or an extra fan to circulate hot air was going to keep those kids cool. When we left after 9 days, I took the AC unit out and gave it to a friend who lived nearby in Scituate. The rear bedroom was smaller in size and the one ac window unit kept it nice and cool. There is no washer and dryer and I will not make that mistake again. I like to cook but the pans were scuffed up teflon coated aluminium pans and I did not want to get bits of teflon flakes in my scrambled eggs so I forgot about cooking. I don't like to bother the host and after a day we ran out of toilet paper and paper towels so I just bought some in town to use. The host was a very nice couple and I feel bad about writing these comments but they are accurate. We made it work and we did enjoy our stay here. Walking to the lighthouse in the evening was awesome and people in the neighborhood were very nice.
Quaint and accessible.
A cute little cottage with a sea breeze and easy accessibility to the ocean and downtown.
Great Stay! Hope to return!
Perfect location and space for my dog, Gage, and I. Had a great weekend. Diane and her husband were helpful, friendly, and unobtrusive. Plenty of space, the air conditioners worked great on a very hot weekend! Thank you for making my reunion weekend so memorable!
