About Barb Askren

Barb Askren, Tami Blevins, Traci Bostion comprise Kingfish Properties LLC which owns this property. The original house was owned by our grandparents. The property was renovated back in the 1980s. Our parents used the house as a summer home. We became the owners in September 2011 and have been constantly trying to update the property. This year we tore down the barn, put in a big fire pit, added a second bathroom, washer/dryer, and all new queen beds. We have plans for other improvements. We hope you enjoy your stay and will come back again.

Why Barb Askren chose Lake Cumberland

We are less than 3 miles from Beavercreek Marina and 14 miles from Conley Bottom and 40 miles from Dale Hollow.

It's peaceful and quiet.

Older Grandparents home

  • 4 of 5

The house has a steep gravel driveway and we had trouble getting our boat up it without a running start. Once inside, we immediately turned the wall mounted AC units on and settled in. We stopped prior to getting there to buy groceries so we wouldn't have to leave in the middle of the night or get up and go to the store in the morning. The kitchen was stocked with just about everything we needed, but everything felt greasy to me, so I washed all the stuff we we're going to use. The house has serious structural problems that can't be fixed, which is why everything leaned and tyhe floor felt squishy. We ended up blowing the fuse in the bathroom twice and found the breaker in the master bedroom. The washer and dryer were so helpful and so was the second bathroom. The house was perfect for us, except it was on the wrong side of the lake. It took an hour drive to get to where we needed to be every day. My fault, not theirs. If you're looking for an inexpensive place to stay in that town, it's perfect. Very quiet out there. I saw a white kitty who looked hungry so we gave it some leftovers, which he ate on all night long. There's also a firepit, which is where we ended up cooking our steaks, since there was no propane in the grill. All in all, it was a nice stay and if I ever need to stay in that area again, I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great outdoor amenities

  • 4 of 5

If looking for budget friendly with all necessary amenities this home will work perfect for you. The outdoor amenities and price were the reasons we chose this cozy little country home. It is very nostalgic of the 60's/70's and will remind you of your grandparents' homes. Knowing this before you go will avoid any disappointment. We enjoyed this little place and it was perfect for our family to relax and unwind.
