Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday cottage in Grand Junction - Bright and Cheery Cottage

3 Bedroom, 2 bathroom house with two living areas and very private backyard

This bright, cheery cottage, built in 1940, has been well cared for through the years and it shows! It has all the original Art Deco hardware and great hardwood floors. The interior has been recently updated with new paint throughout and carpet in the basement. We recently opened up the kitchen to the dining room and added bar seating as well as new counter tops, back splash and lighting. Walk in the front door of this cozy cottage and you are in the living room with the dining and kitchen off to the left. Through a small hallway you will find the three bedrooms and a centrally located full bathroom. The living room has a seating area with new furniture and a 40” flat screen TV with 240 channels of cable as well as Netflix Instant Service. As for the bedrooms, the first bedroom has a queen bed with a new foam mattress. The second bedroom has a queen bed (brand new mattress) and also a crib in case you are traveling with children. We also provide a Pack N Play so a child could sleep in a different room if necessary. The third bedroom has a set of twin bunk beds. Downstairs you will find a spacious laundry room and a family room with a 40” flat screen TV (same cable and Netflix) as well and a pull-out (queen) sofa bed. This room has a small 3/4 bathroom attached to it as well. We have cabinets full of toys for the kids, books and DVDs for kids of all ages. We provide a high chair, kids' table, kids' utensils/cups and even a circus tent! The house has central air conditioning - no swamp cooler! Walk out back into the fully landscaped and very shady, private and fully fenced back yard. Grill out back with your group on our gas grill and enjoy a fire in the fire pit. If you'd like to walk to dinner or out for a drink it takes about 15 minutes (11 blocks) to be at 5th and Main. If you are in town for an event at CMU or Stocker Stadium, leave the car behind! You can walk eight blocks north and be on campus or a walk of three blocks will take you to Lincoln Park which has a great playground and outdoor public pool/slide (and golf course!). Whether you are in town to recreate, visit family or tour the local wineries, this cute little cottage in a central location will not disappoint.

NOTE: If this property is already booked by someone else for the dates you require, please check out our other property - VRBO #489211. It is also located downtown and is similar in size.

Last minute weekday discounts might be available - contact owner for details if this applies to you.

About Amy Lentz

Steve and I have lived in downtown Grand Junction for the last eight years. I have a degree in interior design but have stepped back from my professional career to raise our three kids. Setting up vacation rentals provides me with a creative outlet for all my design energy! Steve is handy and enjoys doing house projects on his weekends so together we make a great team. We got into the vacation rental business last year and have had so much fun managing our other property (#489211) that we decided to do another one. We love all that downtown has to offer and the energy of being in the middle of Grand Junction. We are both natives of Western Colorado and enjoy being able to share our knowledge of the area with our guests. Because we have three small children we know the frustrations of traveling with kids and babies. We hope to provide you with a home away from home with all the comforts your kids want and need in order to make it a trip they will never forget!

Why Amy Lentz chose Northwest Colorado

We loved this home from the moment we walked in. It is well built, has a great floor plan and is so close to Lincoln Park. With a very private shady backyard, fire pit and loads of character - we could not pass it up!

What makes this cottage unique

Our home is completely outfitted with everything you will need whether you are a family with small children, a group of mountain bikers or wine country tourists - or anything in between! We have worked hard to think of everything you will need for your vacation. We love to travel ourselves and pay attention to the details that make each trip enjoyable. We know you will love this little house as much as we do!

Feels like home!

  • 5 of 5

You have made your little place feel like a home instead of a rental. Besides the obvious decorating talent, you have thought of everything. The beds were comfortable, plenty of towels, and a kitchen stocked with an array of dishes, glasses, pots, pans, baking dishes, and utensils that one doesn't have to worry if they will be able to make a meal for more than one person. And while Grand Junction isn't big and doesn't take long to get from one end to the other, the place is centrally located and we easily navigated to all of our destinations. This is an annual event for my sisters, nieces and I and hope your place will be available again next year when we come back.

Cute Clean Convenient

  • 5 of 5

We were in town for a family gathering with local family. The kitchen was well supplied, with just a few groceries we were ready to feed a crowd. The beds were comfortable and the set up for children was ideal. We had babies, toddler & elementary kids. We were out and about most of the time and it was quick to get around. The place was much cleaner than many hotel rooms I've stayed in.

Fantastic Vacation Getaway House

  • 5 of 5

This charming home was absolutely wonderful!! The property is meticulously well maintained, clean and comfortable. The owners provided excellent customer service in regards to area amenities, restaurants and necessities. Owners were also very quick to respond to all of our inquiries. This home is perfectly located near the downtown area and very accessible to outlying areas as well. We were exceptionally impressed overall, and we will stay there again in the event we are back in Grand Junction in the future! We enthusiastically recommend this lovely home to anyone looking for a place to stay in Grand Junction!!

Absolutely loved it!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here for a family wedding in town. It was absolutely amazing and we were SO happy with everything. The house had so many amenities that you typically do not find in a rental home (numerous kitchen utensils/appliances, lots of silverware and plates, etc., some pantry and refrigerator stock, laundry room with supplies, toys for children, lots of bathroom towels). Some of our group hadn't stayed in a VRBO before, so it was a GREAT first experience for them, and a wonderful one for those of us who have stayed in VRBO homes before--by far the best one! There were umbrellas provided at the front door, a fun music speaker that we used via bluetooth, cable tv upstairs and downstairs. Not to mention all of the cute decor and bed linens! The whole house had a great updated feel and everything felt clean. We kept on saying the first few days how much less rich our experience that week would have been if we had STAYED IN A HOTEL! Ugh. That was their first idea, which was quickly changed when I showed them this house online. Cannot say enough about our wonderful experience. We will definitely stay here again in a few years (if it's still a VRBO, fingers crossed!). We also loved how it was only about a mile walk to downtown Grand Junction--lots of restaurants and shops. We have family that lives in town that were impressed when they came to see the house--they said they would be recommending it as a great VRBO in GJ! Also, Amy (the homeowner) was very pleasant to correspond with and helped us quickly and happily with anything we needed.

Great little house close to downtown

  • 5 of 5

We came for a wedding and stayed 2 nights over the July 4th holiday weekend. We should have stayed longer. This was a quaint house with all the amenities you need. Very clean, nice beds, nice rooms, great TV, and easy to use wifi. We slept 4 very comfortably upstairs. Room for more downstairs if needed. The owners were very accommodating and easy to contact for any questions. We would definitely recommend this house and we would come back to stay here again if we are in the area.

Such a welcoming home during a difficult time

  • 5 of 5

Came home to scatter my husband's ashes in the mountains. I needed a comfortable place to stay where I could kick my shoes off, pull up a fluffy pillow and just breathe. Perfect space for my granddaughter and 2 year old great grandson downstairs. It was like their private suite where they could get away from the family chatter and just relax and let the little guy nap. 12 and 10 year old grand kids were quite comfortable in the bunk beds room. They "claimed" their part of the closet and felt right at home. Several times I found my granddaughter listening to her music and reading a book, snuggled up in the bunk bed. My son and I each had our own bedroom -

it was as though the home was made just for us. The dining area was large enough for my 2 sisters and a niece and nephew to join us for dinner. No one really wanted to leave and return to the daily life - but the time did come to an end. With all of the comforts of home and more, we so enjoyed the entire stay at the Lentz home. Very clean and well organized and maintained.

Thank you for providing such a welcoming atmosphere, and, if you don't mind ...

we plan to return!
