As good as anything you'll ever get in the Smoky Mountains. Eastern Kentucky isn't as commercialized but has incredible lakes and things to do outside.
The Yatesville Lake State Park has everything you would ever dream of. Eagle Ridge Golf Course is world renown, Yatesville Lake is 26 miles of fishing heaven, ATV trails everywhere and the kids love the park.
Cabin is beautiful inside and out. A nice place to relax . Pretty quiet for the most part. Only thing that would have made it better is if it were located right in the lake !!
overall impressions when we eventually found it were good it does look like the photos however a few of my biggest gripes were how clean the property was after having a look around it and finding empty coke cans the outside patio area was a mess and the two bbq"s... well neither had been emptied and the gas one was burnt away let alone cleaned looked dangerous to use....the kitchen amenities were basic but everything need cleaning before use the fridge was disgusting with dried food left in the draws and frozen coke bottles in the freezer...the spa was dirty the water was beyond cloudy just did not touch it.......the fact that when you were sleeping you could hear people on the deck outside during the night is just one part as well and when people are knocking on your door asking if you have seen their lost Chihuahua. And gun cartridges in the morning...really..! to cut a long story short we left a day early...and before anyone comments I am 52yrs old and work in construction so I am not a afraid of trying stuff but when you have paid good money for a holiday....well.! this is a review as requested by home away I do not want anything from this I am just doing a review
It was very clean nice cabin. With plenty to do inside and right outside. Beautiful scenery all around. We were impressed with how comfortable the beds were. Our kids have decided we need to come back yearly. Looking forward to going again.
My husband and I took our 4 kids for a bonding get away. We have 1 year old twins, a 15 year old and 20 year old. The cabin was bigger in person, compared to pictures. The rounded furniture was great for the little ones. We didn't have any injuries. We enjoyed the secluded surroundings. It was hot, humid, and raining during our visit, but we still enjoyed ourselves. The big kids really liked the set up, and the large bunk beds. We all enjoyed the hot tub, except the little ones. We turned the heat all the way down, and used it to spend time in the evenings, after the little ones went to sleep. We even had an owl land on a tree just feet from the hot tub, while we were in it. The only thing we didn't pack, and had to buy, other than groceries ,
was trash bags. We stayed 5 nights, so we had more than two cans of garbage. Aaron was kind enough to let us use the broom, vacuum, and floor cleaner during our visit. We needed to keep the floors spotless, or the twins will get filthy and eat things. One of them found and ate a lady bug, but that was it.
We wanted to get away from the hustle of our lives, and that was what we got at this beautiful cabin. It was perfect for some R&R as a family.
The cabin exceeded our expectations. It was every bit as beautiful as it looks in the pictures and the video. The kitchen is fully stocked with all the supplies you need for preparing meals. There are boardgames in the closet, a large variety of DVD's to chose from, books by the fireplace and a lovely hot tub on the porch. There is wifi and flat panel televisions as well. The beds are unbelievably soft and comfortable. Everything was clean and tidy. My family thoroughly enjoyed our time at the cabin. We went for walks, explored some hiking trails, went to the beach, kayaked, played boardgames, watched a couple thunderstorms roll through (magnificent!), sat by the fire and laughed until we cried. What a great family vacation! Also, I should mention that the owners are fantastic people! Super helpful and responsive! It was truly a pleasure doing business with them!
