Beautiful cottage near Falls

  • 4 of 5

We were in town for an event at Niagara University. Turn one way and we're 5 min from the school and the other way about 10 min to the falls. Beautiful house and beautiful tree-lined/quiet neighborhood. One bath/shower took some scheduling for 6 people but we managed perfectly for our weekend. Beds/linens were wonderful and had everything we needed in the kitchen. Front porch was a perfect spot to sit in the evening. It was noted that their is no overnight street parking but there is a small pad in the back of the house that we could park. (trees/weeds were overgrown but we were able to fit 3 cars). It's not posted about the parking but you will get a ticket if on street. Besides the Falls and Canada, you have to visit the village of Lewiston which is about 10 min away past the university. We used Uber on Saturday night and it worked great.

Owner's Response: Kim and Marc, I am thrilled you had a great weekend staying in my home and thank you for the lovely comments I really do appreciate it! Yes as noted in my welcome letter I do ask my guests to park overnight in my allocated parking spot at the back of my cottage where the garages are on my really isn't that inconvenient as you know as my parking spot is attached to the back of the house and you just use the back gate to enter the house instead of the front...I did not see any overgrown weeds out the back last time I was there but thank you for bringing this to my attention I will take a look and have them removed was a pleasure having you stay your welcome back anytime!

The cottage is very comfortable with all the amenities you would need. The owner has gone to great lengths to decorate it and make it look inviting.

The owners are quick to respond to any email queries.

Just the right size

  • 4 of 5

My family was in town to play at a lacrosse tournament. As a family of 4 with two boys, hotel rooms can be a little tight. It was wonderful to be able to come back after a long day of games and relax...without being right on top of each other. The location was great...very close to Niagara Falls and not far from Fort Niagara. Would definitely stay again.

Clean and comfortable

  • 5 of 5

My sister, nephew and I were visiting Niagra Falls for two nights and came across this cottage while searching for places to stay. It is a fantastic alternative to a hotel as we would need at least two rooms; it is just as nice as a hotel and less expensive. Plus, it has a full kitchen and a great front porch on which to relax with morning coffee. Located in a quiet, working class neighborhood on a dead-end street, it is within 10 minutes of the falls, and it's also within 10 minutes of Lewiston, a great little town with restaurants & shops (highly recommend going here to get out of the touristy Niagra area). The cottage seems to be very recently renovated and is extremely well-appointed with everything we needed. The owner was very easy to contact and was prompt in her responses.

As for Niagra Falls itself, we just did the Maid of the Mist which was very enjoyable. We parked in Lot 3 on Goat Island - it was free - and paid the $3 a person for the trolley which took us to the other part of the state park where the Maid is located. The trolley is a great way to save $10-$20 in parking fees and get out of the super high congested parking areas - the trolleys came by every five minutes. We visited on a Sunday in late July, so I'm expecting it was peak tourist time, and we could tell. Very crowded.

We traveled about 20 minutes up the highway to Youngstown to take a ride on the Whirlpool Jet Boats. It was fantastic and worth very penny!

quiet cottage at Niagara

  • 5 of 5

This home is on a quaint residential street ; the neighborhood is quiet and friendly. The home is delightfully decorated, immaculately clean and has an open inviting feel. The property is very close to all you want to do at Niagara Falls. My family of four had a wonderful time and we would rent again. Everything was easy and uncomplicated. The owner was available for communication purposes but we had no issues. Great get away by Niagara Falls
