Wellington house is conveniently located off scenic Sonoma highway and just minutes away from world-class wineries and restaurants in Glen Ellen village.
A group of 6 of us spent a long weekend at the Wellington House and it fit our needs perfectly. The house is nestled in a vineyard accessed by a gated driveway. There are 3 King bedrooms, all with a private bath, and one of the bathrooms is absolutely huge with unlimited storage. There is also a den with a bunkbed and the bottom has a full sized bed. I used it one night to escape my snoring spouse and it was very comfortable. :) That room also has a full bath, for a total of 4. The kitchen is wide open to the dining area and living room, which all open to the wrap-around deck. The view is stunning! There are rocking chairs on the deck, which is the perfect place to enjoy a morning coffee or evening glass of wine. The kitchen was well stocked and had both a Keurig and a regular coffee maker. Plenty of tea was available as well. It was a little chilly for the pool and we didn't use the hot tub, but they are there. We talked about playing bocce ball but never actually played. We did enjoy evenings by the fire with wine and lively discussion. There were lots of board games as well that provided some entertainment. The location was ideal for us as we did most of our wine tasting in Napa and used the mountain pass to get there and back. It is also just minutes from Sonoma wineries. Erika left us some wine tasting passes, which we were unable to use, however it was a lovely gesture. We were also left a bottle of Zin from the vineyard and a bottle of bubbles, which we used for our morning mimosas. We were originally searching for a rental in Napa but high prices and too few bathrooms kept us away. Regardless of how you plan to use your wine country getaway, we highly recommend making Wellington House your home base. Thank you, Erika, for a wonderful stay!
Six friends rented this home for a 50th birthday weekend. We had planned to go wine tasting and explore the area, but found we really didn't want to leave the property! The kitchen is extremely well equipped, the house is beautifully (yet comfortably) appointed, and the property itself is quiet and relaxing. When we arrived at the house, we cancelled the dinner and brunch reservations that we had made for the weekend and decided to dine in for all our meals. Our biggest concern was which scenic dining area to occupy for each meal. Should we have breakfast on the sun-drenched deck or in the garden? Dinner in the dining room or by the pool? We didn't swim in the pool (although it looked very inviting) because the days were cool, but we enjoyed the hot tub and the bikes that were supplied for us. We took a long walk on the country road, and did take one wine tasting right next to the estate. I wish we could have stayed for longer . . . we are already planning on coming back next year. Thank you, Wellington House!
This property is set within a vineyard and the views are stunning. This house is fully equipped with everything you would expect in a gourmet kitchen, wood burning fireplace, bikes, pool, hot tub and more. We had three couples staying for a long weekend and we all had our own rooms with king beds and ensuite bathrooms. A big plus for us was a garden ready for harvest - we enjoyed tomatoes, figs, peppers and zucchini fresh from the garden. We would definitely return.
We really enjoyed our stay at the Wellington House. The house is located on a vineyard and is literally steps away from the grapevines. The views were amazing. It is a very quiet and relaxing setting. The house is just as depicted in the photos. The house is very well appointed with all the amenities. It was great for 3 couples because we all had our own rooms with our own bathrooms. The kitchen is large with plenty of seating for everyone. There are plenty of dishes and equipment to cook anything. We enjoyed grilling steaks on the large outdoor grill. Although it was too cold during our visit, the pool looks amazing. There is a nice area to hang out near the pool and enjoy some wine. It was great to have the bikes, ping pong table and bocce court for entertainment. The property manager, Erika, was GREAT! She was fully available for anything we needed, before, during and after our trip. She left us passes to go to the nearby VJB winery. What a great place. It is located in a small marketplace where they have pizza and sandwiches, music and a few small shoppes. We really enjoyed our stay at the Wellington House and would recommend it to anyone!
Pulling up to the property I could not have been more impressed! It was mentioned in other reviews, but the pictures do not do it justice. The views are amazing. My Husband and I stayed at the house with both our parents and a 6 and 8 year old-plenty of privacy and space for everyone. We really enjoyed the pool, hot tub, table tennis and bocci ball courts. The pool house has a small pullout futon, additional bathroom and a kitchen. The house was very well appointed with dishes, batteries, ping pong supplies. Enjoyed the wine and champagne!! We had an unforgettable stay and would definitely come again!
We stayed at Wellington Vineyard Estate Home this summer with three generations of family. We loved the heated pool and garden. Picking fresh veggies from the garden great fun. We explored the area including the Jack London Park which is right around the corner and the restaurants in Glen Ellen. We loved the Yeti Restaurant and the Fig Cafe in Glen Ellen as well as the Girl & Fig and Sunflower Cafe in Sonoma. There are plenty of family activities such as Train Town, Mrs. Grossman's Sticker factory (Petaluma), Howarth Park (Santa Rosa), the Jelly bean factory (a bit further) close by that young children enjoy. Quary Hill (Glen Ellen) the botanical garden is very close and was also a fun outing if you like plants. Being able to see the sun set over the hills in the morning and the moon rise over the valley in the evening also added to the relaxing visit!
The property was very well maintained and clean. The in-suite bathrooms are very convenient as well. We very much enjoyed the property with a multi-generational family and would definitely recommend it to others. Our overall stay was a big hit and we are very likely to return again.
