Cozy cottage with great views and near quaint Wickford village!

  • 5 of 5

My husband, 8 year old daughter, and our mini golden doodle had a wonderful time at this cottage! It is quiet and private. The week that we were there, the neighbor was present for only one day. The neighbor on the other side was hidden by a row of trees. The view from the deck was glorious! We enjoyed our coffee, meals, wine, and reading on the deck overlooking the bay. Also, the beach which is a short walk was perfect for playing fetch with our dog, swimming, and rock climbing. The houses around the neighborhood were lovely to look at, while walking our dog every day. The cottage had everything we needed and then some. They provided enough paper goods, towels, chairs, pots, pans, utensils, and even sharp knives! The cottage was small but it provided enough space for all that we did. Having a strong wifi and cable tv was a nice perk for the rainy days we had. Also, the awning was great for those days too, as we enjoyed watching the rain on the deck. Charlie was very responsive and gave great information to make our stay comfortable. We took his advice and went to the free concert on the town beach, which was fun! We had excellent lobster bisque and seafood at Duffy's and had great pizza at the Place in Wickford. Also, we were pleasantly surprised that he sent our deposit back the same day as our departure! Thanks Charlie! Our daughter (and I think our dog) is asking when we will be returning :).

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

Perfect place for our little family getaway. Loved that we could bring our dog to the house and to the private beach that was so close! Visited Newport for a day (like 10/15 mins away) walked to wickford village which is dog friendly, loved going for walks in the neighborhood and sitting on the deck by the cove at night! The only thing I wasn't expecting is the 2nd bedroom (with 2 single beds) has a curtain not a door so we moved the baby (super light sleeper) into the bedroom and me and my husband took the single beds but it didn't phase us... pack n play fit without a problem in the bedroom and our little guy slept like a rock! The owners are great and easy to get ahold of. Will be back in the future 😊

Owner's Response: So glad you enjoyed your stay! The curtains do not make it a private, quiet second bedroom, but do work great to open during the day, so the kids have their own space, but can also be easily watched.Yes, we love our quiet neighborhood and private beach, too!

Romantic, scenic location

  • 5 of 5

Cottage is in wonderful location. You can sit on deck and admire a piece of Narragansett Bay while drinking a nice glass of wine, take pleasant walks on tree-lined streets in the neighborhood, and walk to a beautiful private beach in three minutes. Located close to Newport, which has some really nice restaurants. Best of all: Lucy, our dog, loved it!

Main feature is large deck overlooking quiet inlet.

  • 4 of 5

Location is private enough and still close to Wickford for a Nantucket feel and nice restaurants. Also short ride to Newport for the busier tourist things. We took a nice evening sail at reasonable cost. The cottage is small but adequate. Only a curtain separates the second bedroom from the living/dining area. We brought our own wine glasses because we have that evening ritual and most cottages may fear they break easily. I was able to launch my canoe from the property. We had perfect August weather.
