This beautiful setting in the pines is located at the entrance to the lovely village of Corea, just a short walk to the Harbor. What started out to be a rustic bunkhouse for the grandchildren grew into this beautiful two bedroom, one bath vacation cottage. It includes kitchen / living room, laundry, two decks, Direct TV, DVD, WiFi and phone. It has all new floors and knotty pine walls and ceilings. In fact, the only thing that is not new is the 1930s log facade on the front. The fully equipped kitchen is loaded with everything you will need for an enjoyable vacation on the coast. The large front deck has a grill, lobster cooker and deck furniture. The rear deck provides a more secluded setting. Both decks can be gated for a secure play area for your little ones. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The 2nd bedroom has a bunk bed with twin on top and full on bottom. The laundry room has a washer and dryer. Books, puzzles, games and a DVD library are also included. A Pack&Play crib with bedding and a portable high chair are also available.
The vacation was relaxing and enjoyable due to the cabin's serene location and the cabin's extensive amenities. The cabin was extremely clean and comfortable. There was essentially nothing that my wife and I needed in addition to what the owners supplied. We rode bikes around the area and kayaked in nearby Jones Pond although sea kayaking is close by. Fresh lobsters are easily purchased at the Lobster Co-Op or at the nearby restaurant. Both are within walking distance. We definitely plan to return.
This was such a great little cabin. Perfect size for myself and my husband; there was another bedroom with bunk beds that we didn't use so I could see how this would be nice for a small family as well. Loved the location--very quiet and within walking distance to the harbor and some hidden beaches. It's about an hour away from Bar Harbor so if you're looking for a lot of entertainment and shopping, keep that in mind, but we loved that it was so isolated and quiet!
The cabin has all been updated and we loved the style and layout. It was great to have a washer and dryer as well. We didn't use the kitchen much but it would definitely work for cooking some meals if you don't feel like going out to eat.
This place is a hidden gem! We already want to go back.
We stayed in Corea for 4 nights. I usually search for places that welcome children. Travelling with 3 young boys, I know I will need additional items to make my stay more comfortable. When we arrived, I immediately noticed the gated decks, toy set out for the kids, games for the family and all the items I needed to accommodate my children's needs ( play pen, booster seats, toys, blankets, etc). Jim and Brabara were really thoughtful when setting things up. It was helpful to have things labeled to know what to use for what. Jim stopped by to check on us the next day and asked if we had everything we needed. He also gave us suggestions of things to do in the area. Every morning we made breakfast, the boys played outside, and a couple of nights we stayed in the area, walking around exploring. This was a great place to stay with our family but it would also be perfect to plan a romantic getaway. We definitely hope to be back!
Thank You for the lovely accommodations! We especially liked the beautiful flowers on the kitchen table. Very welcoming!
We were looking for some quiet R&R during our 10-day visit to the Schoodic Peninsula area, and this cabin delivered! It was plenty spacious for us two adults, it was full of amenities (i.e. gas grill; pots, pans and accessories for cooking in the updated kitchen; Keurig and traditional coffee makers; toaster; eating dishes and utensils; washer and dryer; bath and beach towels; numerous movie DVDs), it was sparkling clean, it was private, it was within a 5 minute walk to a lovely small harbor (which included #1) a lobster co-op and #2) an outdoor, harbor-side luncheonette), and it was located next door to the owners.
Jim greeted us upon our arrival and made us feel welcome - he was a wonderful host who was happy to suggest places to visit nearby, and we felt comfortable contacting him if necessary.
We highly recommend staying here!
The cabin was very cozy, new and well taken care of. Many outdoor games and wifi. It is in a nice, private, wooded area less than a mile away from the Harbor, The Wharf and the Lobster Co-op where we bought 5 lobster for $40!! The owners were very helpful in providing suggestions, information brochures and maps to Acadia, Bar Harbor and Schoodic areas.
They answered all emails and questions in a timely manner. I would recommend this cabin to anyone interested and certainly stay here again! We loved it here!!
From the personal welcome and suggestions to the quick return of our security deposit, my family and I had a wonderful stay in this renovated log cabin. It was our first family vacation since the birth of our twins two years ago and we couldn't have been happier with this rental. Our favorite feature were the two gated decks that our three children enjoyed all day long. They children had complete independence to go inside and outside at their leisure and it allowed my husband and the relaxation sorely needed. We are looking forward to returning as soon as our schedules allow! Thank you!!
