Our Stay in Little Italy

  • 5 of 5

Warm, cozy, charmingly updated. This space is ideal for a couple or family of 3. We vacationed our butts off by day and came home to our darling home-away-from-home at night. Ideal location to sight see historic Boston. Efficient use of space provides ample room in closets. Furniture is functional and comfortable. Excellent coffee pot. Clean and, again, comfy.

In my opinion, better than the bland and boring of a hotel. For the duration of your stay, you are a guest in the oldest part of Boston. And 2 blocks from some killer cannoli (and the Old North Church). The Freedom Trail is RIGHT THERE! You're also within walking distance of multiple green parks, historic cemeteries, roughly 1 million eateries (fuzzy math), the New England Aquarium, trolley stops, coffee houses, and all manner of cultural awesomeness...seriously, open the windows at night and let the soul-warming scent of garlic bread waft through the space.

The renters are very thoughtful and generous. Knowing we were to arrive with our 3-year-old at 1AM, they prepared a twin size air mattress, inflated and made up with construction themed bedding. Additionally, they provided a complimentary copy of "Make Way for Ducklings" with a kind note for our child. (You're thinking, "Wow! That's so sweet!" ...I know, right?)

Neighbors in the building are quiet. You feel safe in the space, above the street and behind 2 locked doors. Due to the location, traffic is minimal and therefore we found it to be quiet enough for good rest. We are from a small town, so we were somewhat apprehensive about what to expect being so "in the city."

Things to consider:

-Bring toiletries with you like shampoo, soap, etc.

-Towels and washcloths provided

-Coffee was provided, but we did use our own.

-Tasty tap water, bring your refillable bottle.

-Full-size fridge for saving some cash

-Some plastic-ware is provided also for convenience

-Cable TV in common room and bedroom

-Location is close to Bova's Bakery...you'll go home with a pound or two extra of "happy living weight." (No worries, comes right off when you exit Little Italy and return to the real world.)

Cute historic neighborhood.

  • 5 of 5

The apartment is in a great location. There are restaurants and shops right around the corner. We were able to walk pretty much everywhere. The apartment was clean and the perfect size for the two of us. Check in and check out were easy.

Great Boston stay!

  • 5 of 5

We had a fabulous week in Boston and loved the apartment! It was a perfect location for us - near many great restaurants and an easy walk from the harbor and Quincy Market area. We would definitely book again!

Cozy spot, fabulous location with a water view

  • 4 of 5

We spent a long weekend at this North End apartment and had a really great time. It's cozy, but comfortable for two. It was a real treat to look out the living room window at the harbor, plus just steps to that water and a park. Many great restaurants in the immediate neighborhood, plus a short walk to the subway or to numerous historic sites. The owner responded quickly and was very helpful. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice spot in the North End, convenient to restaurants and sites.

  • 4 of 5

The apartment worked well for me while visiting my son whose apartment was nearby. Comfortable bed, adequate space (esp for one!) and well-located. Access was easy and host was responsive to questions. Only minor complaints: hard to get the heat up on the first, cold night, no water glasses, noisy neighbors upstairs. Hit the spot for me...and could have accommodated several other guests. Thanks!

Cold, small, outdated, not all that clean. Great location!

  • 3 of 5

When we arrived the place was very cold. It was a cold day in April and me and my 4 yr old had been walking around the city. We were looking forward to a nap when we arrived. It was way to cold to sleep. There are two small wall heaters and they were off. We cranked them and never shut them off the whole time we were there. I noticed the air conditioner was still in the window from last summer and it was very drafty with old duct tape holding it in. I can’t imagine how it was heated mid winter?? The place had a very strong chemical smell. I identified it a few hours later as an outlet mounted deodorizer. The apartment was outdated with flimsy simple furniture. I only used the kitchen to have tea and there were no coffee cups, or drinking cups for that matter. The bathroom is so small that you can’t sit in the toilet and shut the bath doors at the same time. I looked under the bed when we left auto find any lost socks etc. Well I found a full pack of cigarettes, someone else’s sock and lots of filth.

The location was great!!! The owner left me an email in check out and said “pardon the appearance, I am in the middle of updated the furniture “.
