You will love your stay at our apartment. The bus 123 departs from 8th street in Union City just half a block from the apartment. Bus are always on time. Its a quiet neighborhood. The are has a park, delis, bakeries, and a unique view of Manhattan. If you want to save money this apartment is perfect for you. If you want concierge service and want someone doing your bed every day, than its not for you. There is no subway in Union CITY. There is a train departing from 9th Street Light Rail Station Union City. Google it. Thanks
Very close of Manhattan, the apartment accommodate 06 people (our sofa becomes a queen size bad), for less than a price of a single room hotel in NYC. in a safe area and with spectacular views of NYC. Prepare your own breakfast, order your dinner and save tons of money in hotel tax and tips in restaurants while going to shows, parks, museums and enjoying the best of NYC while staying in New Jersey across the Hudson River.
Sue's place is such a fantastic place to stay. We started our trip from Laguardia airport. We had tried to rent an apartment in Manhattan, real close to the East River and midtown, but they rental fell through after we bought plane tickets to Laguardia. We took the M-60 bus from Laguardia with standing room only, and were running on no sleep trying to hang on to our luggage, and keep from falling. We got off the bus, and started looking for another one. A man told us to get to the Port Authority bus terminal downtown. Best advice because the New Jersey transit was on the other side of the P.O. bus terminal. We caught the 123 bus to Union City, NJ and arrived at 10:40. Sue let us go right in, and we were so thankful. Can't thank you enough Sue! From there we caught the 123 bus to NYC everyday except when we went to the statue of Liberty, and to see the Brooklyn Bridge and the financial district in Lower Manhattan. I loved that we came back to our home away from home, and it was comfy and cozy with a great view of midtown NY. The apartment was clean, with a lot of space for us to relax in, and very nice! I am so glad we stayed in New Jersey. We also learned a little trick to get to Hoboken. If you go out to Palisade Rd and make a right, and then follow Paterson Plank Rd. to an enclose walkway to an elevator, which will take you down to the train, and roads that will take you to Hoboken. Use your smart phone Maps to lead you anywhere. There is an Acme grocery store down there, and good places to eat. You can also take the 22 bus to the Hoboken terminal, and catch a ferry over to Southern Manhattan-Battery park is where you catch the ferry to the Statue of Liberty, and Ellis Island.
We took the 123 bus to the Port Authority bus terminal every time we went to Manhattan, and we walked every where. Some times you have to rely on the subway and the Metro bus system. We saw the Empire state building, the ball at Times Square, The New York Public Library, the Waldorf Astoria, Grand Central Station, Carnegie Hall, Wollman Rink, Central Park, walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, went to Frank Sinatra Park in Hoboken, saw the WWII memorial in Hoboken. We saw two shows- The Rockettes Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall and Phantom of the Opera at the Majestic Theater on Broadway. Sue has a list of attractions in her 3 ring binder, and we had our own. We didn't tour everything we listed, just took pics from an opposit corn
WE WILL ABSOLUTELY STAY HERE AGAIN..VERY NICE VERY CLEAN AND HAD A GREAT VIEW. THIS WAS OUR VERY FIRST TIME USING VRBO AND IT WAS A GREAT EXPERIENCE. THE BAKERY THAT IS ON THE CORNER WAS PERFECT. SUE WAS VERY HELPFUL SHE ANSWERED ALL QUESTIONS FOR US AND GAVE TIPS ON TRANSPORTATION AND RESTAURANTS. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS RENTAL TO ANYONE ITS CLOSE TO THE LINCOLN TUNNEL WE JUST USED UBER EVERYDAY AND IN NO TIME AT ALL WE WERE IN THE MIDDLE OF MANHATTAN. THANK YOU AGAIN FOR EVERYTHING SUE WE TRULY APPRECIATE IT.
Awesome view and great location. Apartment was more than we expected, close to all amenities, well furnished and well stocked with toiletries. Bakery is next door and the warm yeasty smell coming from it is mouthwatering. We recommend the whole wheat Croissants; they melt in the mouth. Sue left us a welcome note and a book that was full of information about the area and transportation. We took the 123 bus into New York each day and used the subway to get around the city. It was so easy, cheap and fast. Metro ticket costs $31.00 for seven days of unlimited travel. At night, it was great to come back to the apartment and relax while looking at the New York skyline. You can see the Empire State building from the balcony and Freedom Tower from the bedroom. Next time we are in New York, we will definitely be contacting Sue. Thanks for a great time. It was very special.
The apartment was big enough for us - a group of 5 people, probably ideal for 2 couples. Clean and well equipped with everything you need. Very good location and great view to Manhattan. Convenient transportation with bus 123 to center of Manhattan, just 25 minutes. We spent 4 nights at Sue's place; going every day sightseeing with NY City Pass, crossing the river with 123. Buy your tickets at Port Authority for the whole group and get a nice discount. And you need to have 3.50$ cash per person if you want to buy them from the driver.
We were in contact with Sue prior to our trip and she shared key information about the place. Also, Sue provided us with some food on our arrival which was very convenient while we were there late, at 11pm. The bill is then deducted from your deposit. Overall we were very glad to pick this appartment.
For further flight to West Coast we had to leave at 4.40 am. We hired a car of Carmel Limo - was on time, clean and big for 5 people with luggage - we got to Newark Airport in 30 minutes.
The apartment was clean, spacious and well equipped. It was located in a nice residential area with plenty of grocery shops around. It was just about 4 miles away from Times Square and the view from the balcony during night was amazing. Sue was very responsive to all our queries and she proactively provided us all the instructions to get into the apartment and info about all the travel options.
We would love to stay in this apt again when we visit New York again.
Great first experience with a VRBO - the apartment was gorgeous, great facilities, loved having access to a washer and dryer. The mattress was super comfortable. Good location - a quick walk to the bus to get downtown. The corner bakery was perfect - we would recommend the bagels, pastries and donuts. Two thumbs from everyone in our group. The owner was fabulous and quick to respond to our questions. Highly recommend!

This newly constructed building features an elevator and indoor parking spot. At the corner of 7th and Palisade. Bus is right at the doorstep and get you to NYC in just 20 minutes!!
The apartment is located near Newport Shopping Mall and New Jersey Gardens Outlet. Its 15/20 minutes way from Times Square by bus (avoid rush hour bus). 30 minutes from Newark Airport and anywhere between 1 to 2 hours from JFK. Do a google search to make sure you know the rote available to get to the apartment. Parks, delis, bakery, drugstore, restaurants yes its all close to the apartment. Yes its very quite and nice. Its a new building so you may not see it in Google maps street view yet. There is no SUBWAY from the apartment to Manhattan, but boy you will save a lot of money in breakfast, dinner, tips, tax, and extra hotel room. If you are traveling with 4 or 5 people make the math. There is nothing like to save money during a vacation and still enjoy it all!
