Delightful Provençal Waterfront Apartments each with its own private terrace overlooking the river, with large Swimming Pool. Les Loriots has breathtaking uninterrupted views over the beautiful River Gardon and its beaches below, its gorges opposite and nestles in the rocks in its own pine wood. The house nicely divides into four private apartments each with its own terrace and delightful river views and is just above the waterfront and beaches and adjacent to the lovely old French village of Collias.

This two double bedroom apartment comprises the upper half of the house and has a balcony around it with a SUSPENDED TERRACE WITH FANTASTIC VIEWS over the river below, equipped with table and chairs for outside dining plus sunloungers

The spacious sitting-room /dining area/kitchen - has a satellite television, a video a large door to the balcony and a dining area for 4 people. The newly fitted kitchen has dishwasher, washing-machine, oven and hob, microwave and a large fridge. Double bedroom 1 - The master bedroom has windows with river views on two sides, a double bed and large fitted cupboards. Double bedroom 2 - This bedroom has windows with river views, two single beds or one double and large fitted cupboards. The Bathroom - has a shower/bath, a basin and cupboards. The WC is seperate from the bathroom. There is air-conditioning and central heating.

Dream vacation in idyllic setting!

A dream vacation in an idyllic setting! Bright, comfortable, clean, quiet, and well-equipped apartment. There are two large bedrooms each with storage, an open living room and kitchen space, a small bathroom with bath-shower combo, and a private water closet on the other side of a locked door leading to a common staircase. Magnificent view of the Gardon river from the balcony, the living room, and one of the bedrooms even if you are indeed in the village of Collias, not on the outskirts. There is no lack of cicadas, the air is filled with the smell of thyme and rosemary, a nice breeze constantly enters the apartment thanks to the house’s elevated location, and Allie welcomed us with open arms. She is discreet yet always available to answer questions or concerns. The pool is shared with the other three apartments, but renters rarely have the same schedule so we were always alone when using it. The river is 2 minutes away by foot and offers many possibilities, namely hikes, swimming, rock-climbing, and kayaking to the famous Gard bridge (pont du Gard). A 3-minute walk will take you to good restaurants (a café, a pancake house, and a high-end restaurant) and basic shops (grocery, bakery, wine), as well as the tiny weekly market. Having a car seems essential to reach Collias from the airport and other towns, although I did see buses running between villages but did not look into it since we did have a car. A vehicle also enables you to take advantage of Collias’ proximity to so many lovely cities such as Nîmes, Uzès, Avignon, Châteauneuf du pape, Orange, and Arles – to name but a few! We travel extensively and rarely return twice to the same location, but I must admit that this apartment could be the exception…

The Wing apartment in May 2014

We enjoyed our stay at Les Loritots a lot. Welcoming atmosphere, the apartment was in perfect condition, tastefully decorated and having all necessary things for comfort living. Good library for reading in the cosy terrace with beautiful river views, even Bialetti espresso maker! We had hiking in nearby mountains, kayaking on Gordon river, also had short journeys to Uzes, Aix, Nimes, Arles, ... Everything was perfect. Great thanks!

i came for the third time here - now for three week - but it was not enough . it is always still beautiful and breathtaking. this time i enjoyed a lot the pool because in oktober the river is a little to cold, i love the natur and the silence and to watch the river, the beavers, the harons without leaving the place. but also the walks belong the river which is wild and pure nature.

and five minutes walking distance you have 2 little supermarkets and even restaurants and a bar.

i felt at home in the cosy atmosphere of the lower appartment and with allie who is always so nice and helpful...and for sure i will come back.

Fantastic week in idyllic location

The apartment is well equipped and laid out. The upper apartment has its own terrace and pool-side area which gives privacy. The property was clean and the air-con worked well as long as you remember to close the shutters during the day! Wifi was a bonus! The owner is English-speaking and extremely helpful and lives nearby. There are about 5 restaurants in the village and the food shops are within easy walking distance and well-stocked. We didnt have a car and found the buses very cheap - Uzes is lovely, Avignon too. The kayak trip to the Pont du Gard is a must! Definitely going to return in the future - a very relaxing and idyllic location and property.

This was our most beautiful and refreshing holiday.

We loved the appartement ,the garden and the spectacular view from our balcony and our kids loved the pool.

Allie was always helpful and very nice!

we didn´t want to go home!

The village of Collias has restaurants, a boulangerie and local supermarkets all within 3 minutes walk of the house. In this area of outstanding, natural beauty you can walk for hours along the banks of the Gardon. You can take a picnic and find your own private beach for a swim, on foot, by canoe or even by bicycle. There are numerous beautiful birds along the river and other wild-life. You can even see beavers if you know where to look.

Languedoc and Western Provence is a terrific region, just full of Wonderful things to do and places to see.

The magnificent Pont du Gard, which is the largest Roman aqueduct in Europe, is just 6 kilometers east and is accessible by car or by canoe. The beautiful 11th century town of Uzes is 12 kilometers away and boasts amongst its many old buildings a splendid castle and cathedral. The wonderful Place aux Herbes with its old cafes, shops and restaurants has a Saturday market which is one of the most popular and colourful in the region.

Avignon and Nimes, Montpellier, Arles, Aix-en-Provence, Montpellier the Camargue and the Mediterranean are all nearby. There are also long white Mediterranean beaches within an hour's drive, and they are less known and therefore not nearly as crowded as the beaches on the Cote d'Azur, 'though they just as pretty.
