Maison Fleurie offers an unrivalled combination of character, homely comfort, peace and utter seclusion with ready access to cafes, restaurants and shops. A home at the centre of all you could desire and yet as quiet as the countryside. In the heart of an ancient citadel, the house retains its medieval character with modern convenience. Décor is soft and understated. Fully tiled showers boast powerful thermostatic delivery. Beds have supportive mattresses and feather pillows. Looking onto the spectacular gorge of the Aveyron river there is an adjoining private courtyard with unshared in-ground circular heated pool, four metres across, typically heated to 25C during season. In another garden there are dining table, chairs and sun beds for six. Take the sun to the chime of the village clock, doze in shade, float on water - or just enjoy a short stroll in some of the nation’s most fabulous scenery.

Monthly rentals available from September until May; September £1300, October £800, November - February £550, March/April £800, May £1200.

During summer we rent the house weekly from Saturday to Saturday, please contact us if you need a different start day.

  • For both bathrooms there is ample hot water, impeccably clean high quality ceramics and multi-position shower hand sets. The downstairs bathroom has a fully tiled 600 x 700 mm shower with curtain. There is also a toilet and large washbasin, two double towel rails, mirror, blown air heating and shaver point. A baby bath can be made available if required. Personal towel sets, hand towels and shower mats are provided, as are bathroom cleaning products.

  • On the top floor, there are two bedrooms. One has a double bed and an 800mm concealed en-suite shower, fully tiled with glass door and powerful thermostatic delivery. The second bedroom has twin single beds. The beds have supportive mattresses, soft pillows and good quality linen. Both bedrooms have access on this level to a separate cloakroom with mirror cabinet, toilet and small wash basin. The long first floor living room has a comfortable double sofa bed. There's ample space to leave the bed made up without compromising seating and TV viewing. With independent access to the downstairs bathroom this means the house can function much the same as a 3 bedroom property when needed.

Notes:
The house entrance is only seconds walk from free and secure car parking. Outside in 100 sq metres of prettily planted courtyard gardens is a covered barbeque, level access heated pool, garden lighting and sun loungers. The building is warm and cosy out of season, and deliciously cool at the height of summer. Soft furnishings are of a high quality, living room furniture is comfortable and capacious. The TV has main UK channels and French channels also. The fully equipped kitchen includes sharp knives, food processor, spices, dried and fresh herbs, oil, salt, pepper flour and sugar. Cleaning agents and waste bags are provided. Overall standards of care could not be higher. More than a holiday 'gite' this is a properly equipped, thoroughly comfortable home, suitable for both short and long term occupation.

A little gem in a historic setting.

The village house is little gem, being situated in the heart of the medieval town, it was wonderful to walk 100 yards to a bar, restaurant or ice cream shop. We lived in the courtyard garden and the pool was perfect for the children, 9 and 13. The house had everything you needed and very comfortable. It was such a pleasure to look out onto the roof tops from the bedroom windows. The kitchen was well appointed, there was plenty of tea and coffee and the welcome pack meant was god send after a long drive. We enjoyed walking to the river in the evening and the Sunday market. The canoeing was really touristy, but such good fun - a must. The owners were super friendly and just round the corner, so any problems they were there in seconds. We would highly recommend this holiday, we loved the historic setting, made a change from the secluded villa's we normally go for.

Maison Fleurie

We just spent two very enjoyable weeks in Maison Fleurie. The gite is very well equipped. From the kitchen to the master bedroom quality dominates. Two excellent showers, an endless supply of hot water and plenty of towels and clean linen make this truly a home from home. The king-sized bed was a real bonus for us.

Steve is a thoughtful host who has spared no effort to provide plenty of recreational items, lots of books in English, TV channels from England as well as France and a DVD player. The unusual thing for us after over 40 years of gite rentals in France was that there was no question of paying extra once you passed a set limit in electricity usage Everything was included in your rental fee even the clean up when we left. The king sized bed was a real bonus for us.

St Antonin Noble Val is a photographers' paradise and provided many hours of enjoyment.

We heartily recommend this gite to anyone interested in exploring medieval French villages from a very comfortable base.

A Place to Feel at Home

We spent two wonderful weeks at this property late February and early March 2011. The weather was very good for this time of the year. The apartment is kept very clean and is quite comfortable for four. It is well equipped for eating in. For those liking to take showers you will not be disappointed. The two shower stalls are more than adequate with plenty of hot water. A car is essential if you want to go further afield, which is a must as there are many interesting places to visit, all within an hour and a half drive. We found the owner within easy reach by 'phone in the event any questions arise. If you want to stay in a town that takes you back several hundred years, this is the place to envisage how people lived back in those days. Saint Antonin-Noble-Val has a lot of character. One of the best bakeries we know is just steps away from the apartment.

perfect stay

just wonderful -the cottage was perfect -comfortable, had everything we needed. Quiet. The village had everything we wanted - a beautiful river, a cinema, great restos, walks and a fab market with great produce. Hope to be back one day!

We're sorry we only had a week!

We were twy couples with only a week to spare in third week of September. Excellent weather perfect for walking. We particularly appreciated local walks guide among literature supplied. House is well equipped and spotless and hosts quick to fix any problem (replacement lightbulbs in our case). Would strongly recommend. We wished we had three weeks at least!

August bookings are for a minimum of two weeks. There is a supplementary charge of 50 pounds per week for parties of six in July and August. Prices include gas, electricity, pool heating, tea, coffee, spices and many other provisions.
