Contemporary Home With 3 Bedrooms & Incredible Kitchen. Feels Like a Cruise Ship

When we sold our family home down the street we moved our karma and love for the 'aina (land) here. Hopefully you will get the same feeling we have: peace, serenity and the knowledge that Pele and Kanaloa watch over the Big Island and the special piece of it we mind for them.

We bought this property six years ago and completely remodeled it from the ground up. It has state of the art finishes throughout and is meant to provide a tranquil respite for Lisha and I after we complete our work with the Foreign Service. It's a place for families to gather together and celebrate what's important.

When you walk in through the custom designed front door, you will start to see the fabulous design features and art immediately. Large spaces and endless light fill the main area which include the living room, kitchen, dining area and lanais. There are two bedrooms, one with a queen and one with two twins, on the same level.

Take the staircase downstairs and you enter the realm of the sixty by twenty foot wide Family Suite. It has a queen bed, a king size bed and a beautiful bathroom with a free standing tub. The WC is in a separate room and there is my favorite, a double shower which is also a steam room. There is a second, fully covered lanai on this level as well. I can't live without it so just outside the bedroom's side door there is a second shower looking over the ocean.

OCCUPANCY-In consideration of our neighbors and because of liability issues, OCCUPANCY AND USE OF THE HOUSE IS STRICTLY LIMITED TO THE NUMBER OF GUESTS WE HAVE AGREED TO IN YOUR RESERVATION. Other persons are not allowed on the property and there can be no loud parties at any time. Our neighbors closely monitor the neighborhood and record and report disruptive events as soon as they happen. IF WE RECEIVE A COMPLAINT REGARDING EXCESSIVE TRAFFIC, NOISE OR PARTIES OF ANY KIND YOU WILL FORFEIT YOUR SECURITY DEPOSIT. We understand that many wish to have events and parties and in fact love a good time ourselves. If that is your need then our home is not the place for you.

Camp Crawford is a moveable feast. Having spent over twenty years in Hawaii, we joined the Foreign Service in 2010 and spent nearly four years in Frankfurt, two in Washington, D.C. and have been posted to Dakar, Senegal for the next three years. Randall and Winston completed their High School education and will be attending UH Manoa and CSU-Ft. Collins. Clarissa is in her last year of University at Erasmus in Rotterdam and is doing s semester at the National University of Singapore.

We arrived on the 16th and left on Christmas Day just as we planned over a year ago. So much changed in a year but all conspired to bring us to this wonderful home on the best part of the Big Island. This home is very welcoming and perfectly located to enjoy the view, the sounds of the waves and the frogs. The lanai is wonderful... We spent much of our time out there. The showers and the big tub downstairs are great treats. Easy access to the Farmers Market to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, coffee, and locally made breads. The market was also a great source for wonderful presents to take back to the Mainland. Come and enjoy this place. This house is in great harmony with the essence of Hilo. Mahalo!

Outstanding Ocean Views, Amazing House & Location

Absolutely stunning place. Brian was a fantastic host. We had 5 people stay at this location, and it had room for a few more. Loved every part of it, it's been completely remodeled and you just can't beat the ocean view and sounds. We appreciated the fast internet connection. I would highly recommend this rental for anyone visiting Hilo, who wants to stay at an amazing location that is still just a short drive to everything. This spot made our trip to the east side of the island so much fun, thanks for being a great host!

Six stars!

This is a big house with an unforgettable ocean view. The house itself is great too! Owners used top quality materials to build this house. The huge kitchen equipped with pots, cookware, spices and anything you need for cooking a meal. It has a breathtaking sunrise view with so many colors in the sky! Upstairs has two bed rooms. Each room can sleep two people. Downstairs has a huge room with two queen size beds and setting areas. It is a perfect vacation home for a party of eight people. We will be back again with our family and friends.

The home is in immaculate condition and the owner is very accommodating, the location is perfect.

Having a family of surfers, this rental location could not been better! The view is fabulous, the house has a very family friendly layout and the showers are wonderfull. Finally, the price is very reasonable.

A fabulous house in a convenient location.

There were ten of us but the house easily accommodated us . The kitchen was well stocked and huge. The views were wonderful and the deck overlooking the ocean was fabulous. Everything was well stocked from laundry essentials to plenty of linens and towels for everyone. Would definitely recommend this house to everyone.

Wonderful time!

We didn't get much time to write in the book since we misunderstood the check out time and had to rush to leave the house. The home was lovely and the perfect place for the 6 of us to spend our time between swimming and 'touristing'. The view was great and closeness to town was really convenient. Every convenience was available although some could have used a few instructions so we didn't mess them up. Eveything was better than we expected and the home was very relaxing. Also, it was easy to find from the airport.

Would be helpful to have maps to locations such as grocery, and local shops, restaurants and beaches. Also, where were the spices? We assumed there would at least be salt and pepper, but returned from the store to find none available. This being our first time to rent a home we didn't know what to expect. It was very clean and well provisioned.

We enjoyed hearing the waves every night - lulled us to sleep! Thanks for opening up your home to us!

Amazing home. Can't wait to come back!

My family and I were thrilled to be guest here at this beautiful Pauka'a rental. The house had everything we needed and the view was amazing. It was such a treat for my family and I to spend a relaxing week together, and we even made use of the big open kitchen as we prepared many delicious meals together!
