The cabin is clean & adequate but very unkempt out back by the creek. There is no live TV for news.

  • 3 of 5

It is an adequate place to come back to from daily outings. It was clean and had most things we required. It needs a lot of work to be able to enjoy sitting out by the creek and having a fire. The trees and under brush hold the mosquitoes around the property which adds to not using the outside areas. There is no live TV so if you need to know what's happening locally or in the world luckily there's wifi. This wouldn't ordinarily be a huge issue but hurricane Harvey was happening and we have family and property there so it would have been helpful. The area is a little farther out which makes it a little inconvenient for food shopping. Although Carvers Orchards is right down the road and that place is FABULOUS!! We were there 10 days and I would have been satisfied with the entire stay but on the very last day as I was doing all the laundry and packing to leave I noticed my load of white clothes were very discolored! I turned the faucet on in the bathroom since it had a white sink and sure enough the water was a VERY gross brown. This was around noon. I immediately called the manager who of course had no idea what it could be but offered me some oxyclean. What good would that do with dirty water I said. She said she'd call the water co and for me to turn on the other faucets and leave them run to see if it would correct itself. A few hours later she called and said that the city/co was flushing the lines and to leave them running until it cleared. So here I am needing to wash the rest of our stuff but most importantly we needed showers because we were leaving around 4 the next morning. That was the only help I got from this property mgr. Mind you, they have other properties some even on that same road.....did they offer for us to at least go shower at one of them NO. Did they say we're sorry for the inconvenience tonight's on us NO. I understand that they have no control over that type of situation but they could try to accommodate us another way. At 10pm the water is still running brownish so needless to say I took dirty clothes home with me and we did not get to shower. POOOR CUSTOMER SERVICE.

Location good for east side of the park, Kitchen is poorly stocked, Wifi Issues

  • 3 of 5

We like staying in the Cosby area. The was a good location for access to the park. However, we like to cook a lot of our meals when we are on vacation because we eat out so much regularly and on vacation we have time to cook. The kitchen in this house was not a well stocked; the front left burner did not work, the front right burner was so crooked that the pot tipped over on it, there is no pans for baking, both can openers were broken.

Additionally, the Wifi password we were given was incorrect, when we asked for the correct password, we were given another incorrect password.

Also, this is the first time I have been at a home rental where there is an envelope for tips for the person cleaning the house. That seemed very out of place for a home rental.

Exactly as seen online! Lots of room to spread out!

  • 4 of 5

Enjoyed our short stay in this quiet setting. Loved the peace and tranquility and just swinging on the front and back porch swings. The sound of the creek was relaxing and even though we had rain we still had fun. Indoor games were plentiful and my little great niece just loved the stuffed bears!!! Wish we could have stayed longer!!

Cute Cabin, poor cleaning and property management.

  • 3 of 5

We had a really nice stay, and the cabin was very cute and quiet. Our issues were with the cleaning and then communication with the property manager NOT the owners. We had very gross dirty dishes, so I had to wash everything prior to using which was a big job with no dishwasher. We found a dirty men's tube sock on the floor of our bedroom as well. We did go purchase a turner and slotted spoon to cook with because the ones provided were peeling plastic and pretty gross. We couldn't access the Wifi and so we put a call in to the property manager on the first day and left a message to get assistance but never did receive a returned call or any help with it. This was frustrating. On the positive, the cabin is cute and the layout was nice for our family. Our kids really enjoyed the fire pit and the creek out back and the hot tub was also a plus. The drive isn't too bad for the Cosby park entrance but Pigeon Forge is 40 minutes and then Gatlinburg was 35 so it's a trek if that is where you want to spend the majority of time. There are close neighbors as well, but we didn't mind that. Overall a good stay, and with some improvements on cleaning services and the communication with property managers I would have given 4 stars and would stay again. Thank you so much, it's a cute place.

Owner's Response: Kate, thank you for your feedback. I am sorry for the housekeeping and wifi issues that you had while staying with us. Clearly we dropped the ball and we will be looking in to these items, including the lack of response when you needed help with the wifi. We hope that you will give us another opportunity to serve you on your next visit.
