The 5 apartments are part of a 13th-century villa (Le Pozze), which was renovated in Renaissance style. It is located at 400 m above sea level between olive trees, chestnut trees, vineyards, fruit plants, and mainly cherry trees. The garden is huge and has wooden tables to have breakfast or lunch outside. The 13 x 6-m pool is located 50 m away from the villa. The apartments are different in size, between 110 and 50 m² and have 2/3 bedrooms, a kitchen/dining room and a bathroom. The pieces of furniture come from our and some are antique pieces. For additional information about this place, please read the detailed description. Another apartment sleeping 4 (2 bedrooms) is currently under renovation. This one has an entrance opening onto the loggia. It is not available on this website yet. It will be ready in May.
It is a recently renovated apartment in an old villa with three other apartments. The villa is located in the middle of the countryside, among olive trees and cherry trees in the Mugello region, about 30 km away from Florence and 4 km away from Dicomano. The train connects to Florence. There is a 13 x 6-m pool, a barbecue, dining tables in the garden, a restaurant with Tuscan cuisine, and a cellar for tasting regional (Chianti) wines. This family-owned house has been a kind of refuge for 4 generations of Florentines, a family of artists and potters (the Cantagalli family). The building was renovated between 1995 and 2000. The earliest information we have about the villa dates back as far as 1246, in Giotto's time. The villa is mentioned regarding the obligations the former owners, the Asinis, had towards the monastery of Florence.
The main point of interest is the story of the house and its owners; starting from the Ademari family, the Asini family in Florence, the Dalle Pozze family from Dicomano, and the 19th-century Cantagalli family (very famous for its artistic pieces of pottery in Florence), which are the current owners. Cantagalli pieces of pottery are still present in the house of the owner. There is a fresco in the Giotto apartment, from an unknown, probably 15th or 16th-century artist, representing the Madonna with a child holding a small bird in his hand.

Villa Le Pozze is located in the municipality of Dicomano, 4 km away from the city centre and 35-40 km away (45 minutes) from Florence, in the valley of the Sieve River and in the Mugello region to the north of Florence. It is an agricultural area, particularly dedicated to wine producing, olive growing, cattle and sheep breading, and the production of sweet chestnut wood with the famous “Mugello chestnut”. The Sieve River is the most important tributary of the Arno River. In its catchment basin lies the Bilancino reserve, where you can go sailing, fishing, etc. The Mugello race circuit is located in the same region. On this circuit, in June, is held the Moto GP World Championship. A train, which stops in Dicomano, connects the valley with Florence, and there is also a motorway towards Bologna, Rome, Arezzo, Lucca, Pisa-Viareggio, and Siena.
