This charming home is walking distance to Hillcrest's diverse shops/restaurants.

This charming, centrally located canyon home underwent a major renovation in mid-2014 complete with new appliances. Located in the eclectic neighborhood of Hillcrest, the house is walking distance to shopping, a vibrant nightlife and a plethora of restaurants, and is just minutes by car to all of San Diego’s main attractions. Staying here is a great alternative to hotels and noisy beach condos. You’ll feel like one of the residents in this quiet neighborhood as you relax on the patio, BBQ your dinner or stroll the streets of this safe and friendly neighborhood.

Our home is two-stories with a bedroom, full bathroom, kitchen, living and dining room on the main level and a spiral staircase leading downstairs to two bedrooms, bathroom and laundry. Glass doors from the dining room lead to the private patio. Relax, explore and enjoy all beautiful San Diego has to offer.

***Children will need approval. The home is not ideal for very young due to the steel spiral staircase that leads downstairs.

There's everything you want to do - beaches, mountains, desert, large cities and small towns are all a short drive. And you can't beat the weather! Why Todd chose San Diego County

This property is close to everything, yet is in a quiet and friendly neighborhood. A pedestrian bridge connects this part of Hillcrest to the bustling area with every type of shop, restaurant and bar you can imagine. On weekends, you can even stroll over to one of the best farmer's markets in the city. Hop in your car, and within minutes you're at any number of San Diego's major attractions.

Many people come to San Diego and want to be at the beach, but it is a different vibe there and many regret the decision. 'It's a nice place to visit, but you wouldn't want to live there,' is a good way to describe it. I encourage you to venture away from the beach to a charming neighborhood where you can safely enjoy your vacation.

What makes this house unique

It's a great place to relax with all the comforts of home while exploring our beautiful city. You'll feel like you live here, and you'll want to.

Please note that due to the iron spiral staircase, the home is not ideal for small children, particularly toddlers. The staircase starts on the first floor and goes downstairs. At this time, there is not gate to prevent a child from using the stairs.

Nice House

I stayed here for 6 nights with my 2 adult daughters. The house is very clean and close to many restaurants and the hi-ways. My oldest went jogging most mornings over the footbridge and down to University and Washington Avenues. We were able to walk to the farmers market on Sunday in 10-12 minutes and picked up some fresh vegetables for a barbecue dinner we had later that day on the patio. My brother lives in S.D. and we would definitely rent this house again when visiting.

Beautiful home. Great location

First of all I want to say my family and I had a great time. It was a guys reunion (which we haven't been able to pull off in years) and we all had a great time and it was incredibly easy getting from the place to wherever we wanted to go. All of us thought the place was great.

The reason for 4/5 stars is because of space. I would say the place fits a family of six (2 adults, 4 children) comfortably... not so much 6 grown men haha. The beds were all really comfortable so we made it work, but it was a challenge fitting 2 guys on the two smaller beds. Somewhat important information. Luckily my brother and I got the bigger bed (downstairs) which was incredible. Also, make sure you stick to the rental agreement and make it clear who will be staying at the place. Or at least update the manager if something changes. Don't do it after-the-fact. They like clear communication.

One last piece of advice, this is not a property where you can go to and party. It's a quiet neighborhood. Something to keep in mind if you're a loud group.

Other than that, I definitely recommend this property! The property manager was very nice and professional. And truly, you can't really beat the location. If you're trying to enjoy San Diego and all it has to offer (which I found out is limitless), this is the right place!

Great San Diego Rental Property

To reiterate what other reviewers have said: perfect location for site seeing and shopping, beautiful house with all necessities, owner and property manager who are professional and very nice.

The house was comfortable for six adults. We had three vehicles and no issues with parking. The neighborhood is clean and quiet which was perfect for us. I would recommend another location if you like to party and get loud.

I'm keeping this property on my favorites list and hope to rent again in the future.

Wonderful house in a great location!

We enjoyed our stay at this property. We had 6 people and we all fit very comfortably. The kitchen was fully equipped and we were able to prepare food. The beds were all great and we had plenty of linens for our stay. This is a property that is worth staying at, and we would love to return!

It was a Great location and was more than we expected. We were met at the door by the manager and clearly informed of all the properties benefits and were impressed. We would and will use this property in the future. Thanks Randy for all your efforts in making our stay a positive experience. The house was clean and very current in regards to furnishings. Great Location for walking to shops and restaurants as well. Would recommend. A+!

Lovely

Great house with everything in great condition. Plenty of linens and the kitchen was well stocked. It is small so more than 6 would be tight. There is a nice comfortable patio and the location was great for us. We were able to get to everything within 15-25 minutes. It was less than 15 min. to the airport. Very easy to work with and we were glad to have a home base to come back to each evening after touring SD. Highly recommend.

Notes:
While this home does not have A/C, there are only a few short weeks in the summer when it is typically needed (search for average temperatures during your stay and you'll see what we mean). San Diego's climate is semi-arid with typically low humidity so it doesn't feel as hot as it can in other parts of the country with higher humidity. That said, there are ceiling fans and portable fans for you to use. With this home being on a canyon, it also receives nice ocean breezes.
