I am originally from Chicago but have lived in the Phoenix - Scottsdale area since college. We enjoy an active lifestyle of travelling, hiking, biking, and snowshoeing the trails behind the cabin as well as snow boarding and cross country skiing at the nearby ski resort. Most of our free time over the last couple of years has been taken up on our renovation of the A- Frame using sustainable building practices. Materials were 0 VOC bio based non toxic coatings that we manufacture and salvaged locally sourced Ponderosa Pine, recycled doors, windows, furniture, and fixtures. All three of us (including the dog) have allergies so we try to keep the cabin as dust and allergen free as possible. We find it rewarding to help bring families and friends together from all over the world to enjoy the wonders of Flagstaff and to share the living experience in our cabin. A portion of your homestay fee helps support Flagstaff Family Food Center, Food Bank and Kitchen.
Mahesh purchased this cabin in 2011
The property is a great mix of a peaceful rural area with great vistas but 10 minutes from the excitement of a vibrant mountain town and is one of the highest in the country at 7,000 feet in elevation. The summers are warm but not hot like the central Arizona desert. Be prepared for warm summer days (average high is 78 degrees) and chilly nights (average low is 42 degrees)
A very quiet secluded country setting with great views of the mountains and in the midst of the world’s largest Ponderosa Pine forest.
“This is the best Airbnb I've stayed in. The cabin was clean, cozy, and well stocked, the area was very quiet and far away enough from the main road to be private, and downtown Flagstaff is only a few minutes up the road, so you're not isolated from modern convenience either. Lots of thought and care went into making this A-Frame the best experience it can be, with a well stocked kitchen and bathroom. There's plenty of books, an Xbox for kids (or kids at heart like us), a pair of mountain bikes for a ride around the woods, and plenty of firewood to keep the wood stove alive. Mahesh is a phenomenal host who was very responsive when we needed to contact him, and did everything he could to make sure it was a great stay for us. We hope to book here again someday.”
Beautiful views, cozy and comfortable living quarters, and a peaceful getaway worth every penny. We enjoyed our stay so much we are already planning the next one. Everything we needed was available to us and the scenery-we couldn't get enough. It was perfect.
This cozy, adorable cabin is nestled between mountains. Beautiful views, quick drive into Flagstaff and wonderful property owner. Arrived to a bottle of wine and the cabin ready and toasty for us. It was the perfect place for a weekend getaway, we didn't want to leave. Great location for star gazing, enjoying some quiet and relaxing. Will definitely go back.
Reading the Guest Book in this place is like reading hundreds and hundreds of greeting cards while watching the Hallmark channel. BOOK YOUR RESERVATION NOW. You will have a wonderful time and leave your sappy scribblings in that Guest Book too. It's far enough away from Flagstaff to be cozy/woodsy, but the grocery store's 10 minutes away. The cabin is stocked well if you want to cook. We stayed in late December and didn't need to use the wood burning stove. You will be very comfortable.
We loved our stay at the Flagstaff Aframe! It was home base for 10 days as we explored much of the area which was amazing; Sedona, Grand Canyon, Inner Basin, Antelope Canyon, Horseshoe Bend, Monument Valley and more. The back decks had wonderful views into the Coconino Forest and Turkey Hill with ponderosa pines, grazing cows and elk at dawn...a great place to walk too. The property description was very accurate and customer service excellent. The instruction and details Mahesh provided were very helpful. We had everything needed for cooking and although it was chilly at night, we barely needed the baseboard heaters. The bedding was very comfortable, and new I think - two full size beds - thick memory foam and Coleman ComfortSmart! This was the experience we were looking for, away from constant connection, and would definitely recommend the cabin and return as well. It is small, and the neighbors were closer than anticipated, but this did not disappoint. We watched a couple of movies, brought our own Wi-Fi hotspot, but mainly enjoyed the outdoors, sitting at the bar, talking about the amazing things we experienced that day. Thank you Mahesh for sharing your cabin with us!
Feels like home. Cozy. We love it. Inside out.

This is a good location if you just want a place to sleep with some cooking facilities. I knew it was going to be more rustic, but I was disappointed in the bed. It was really a futon with a full sized mattress. I could have used another moderate-sized pan for cooking. Only sizes were 1 small, 1 medium, and 1 large. The location is fantastic. It was also a little closer to the neighbors than indicated in the description.
