We purchased our property here in Bozeman, Montana in October 2012. We are originally from Iowa City, Iowa.
Edin & Melody Wells-Minthorn purchased this chateau / country house in 2012
When we first looked at this property it had been vacant for 15 years, everything outside and inside the homes and barn were from 1987 and everything was BLUE!! Blue carpet, blue exteriors, blue countertops, blue and pink flower wallpaper, it was a nightmare! My husband is a carpenter, so we felt we couldn't pass up these breathtaking Bridger Mountain views! We decided to buy it and then we spent the next two years gutting both homes out and doing a complete remodel. The end result is just fabulous!
One of the things we appreciate most about our ranch (other than the breathtaking mountain views) is the peaceful country feel, yet so close to town! Being only 5 miles from major shopping, activities and restaurants makes this the perfect spot!
What a wonderful place. I would of given it 5 stars if it had an upstairs bathroom. Other then that we have no complaints only good memories to add to our Christmas weekend spent at the Roost. I have never seen so many Rooster's even had playing cards with them on it :) This was a great hit with my daughter that just started raising chickens this summer. Thank you for allowing us to stay here!
Very nicely kept and stocked home. Comfortable furnishings and accommodating host. Best part was the mountain view. Very reasonable for a very nice home.
The Roodt was the perfect place to stay while enjoying Bozeman and the outlying areas. The house was comfortable, beds were perfect, and a well equipped kitchen for cooking.
The views of the mountains and open fields was absolutely stunning!
This home is great for a family or a romantic getaway.
Sit on the porch or the bench swing and listen to the silence.....
My husband and I stayed at the Roost for 3 weeks so we could be close to our family in Belgrade. The Roost provided absolutely everything we needed - plenty of room, completely stocked kitchen, comfortable beds, quiet, awesome views of the Bridgers and daily wildlife viewings!! It is so close to town and Costco!! Great restaurants in Bozeman and lots of hiking trails nearby. We'll be back when we next visit Montana!
A great Montana property. The house was everything advertised. We found it to be the perfect place for our stay the views were outstanding -- wildlife all around. We would definitely go back
We enjoyed our stay in the "Roost House".
The house is well maintained, well equipped and located on beautiful land about 10 minutes from the heart of Bozeman. The views are spectacular. We slept with the windows open at night and it was super quiet !! The house was plenty big enough for a family of four except that the only minor downside for us was that there is only 1 bathroom, and with four people (including two teenage kids) it took getting ready in the morning a bit longer than usual.
Melody is super helpful and she made some fantastic recommendations on things to do and places to eat. Some of our favorites (all suggested by Melody) include:
* "Boiling River" Hotsprings inside Yellowstone
* MacKenzie River Pizza (we went twice because our kids loved it so much !)
* Fairy Lake hike
* Hyalite Canyon / Palisade Falls hike
We are one mile from Middle Cottonwood Hiking trail in the Gallatin National forest. We have 360 degree breathtaking mountain views from our property. We offer relaxation and peaceful surroundings, yet we are only a five minute drive to major shopping and wonderful local restaurants.
