The fabulous cafes and boutiques on Vermont and Hillhurst are less than a mile away.

As a journalist originally from Germany I've traveled the world and collected many wonderful experiences along the way but am always happy returning to Los Angeles, my home for the past 25 years. I have written several travel guides about Los Angeles and can help leisure travelers to experience the city offering tips and locations many people don’t get to see.
Recently I have discovered a new passion creating mosaic artwork. Don’t be surprised to find me in the backyard working on a project with hundreds of little pieces of tile.
I’ve always enjoyed entertaining guests at my home. It would be an honor to have you stay in our house. I look forward to meeting you.
Birgitt Steinberg purchased this house in 1996
I loved this upstairs room in a beautiful 1920's Spanish home with lots of historic charm, owned by friendly German women. Room includes lovely balcony with distant views. Bathroom was shared with one other person but it wasn't a problem. Delicious healthy breakfast with plenty to choose from The street is a bit noisy during the day but quiet at night. Nice experience!
Birgitte and Ingrid were wonderful hosts! The room was spacious and clean, the home is in a great, quiet neighbourhood within walking distance of the main area of Los Feliz. They had breakfast out every morning, and I enjoyed talking to Ingrid before starting my daily adventures. She and Birgitte are welcoming hosts. I would encourage everyone to stay with them.
My room was sunny and spacious with a nice balcony to relax on. The Spanish house was very charming and tastefully decorated in a very trendy location. Unfortunately, I am a light sleeper and the sounds carried through out the house and the traffic outside kept me awake. Yummy and diverse breakfast was offered every morning. Overall, a very nice stay. I strongly recommend.
Very enjoyable recent stay here. Wonderful convenient location paired well with a great host. Looking forward to staying here again in the future.
The house has so much charm, and charming hospitality! Birgett was so accommodating! She even let me borrow some tools to assemble some dorm furniture for our daughter. Great European style breakfast and feel in LA. Hope to stay here again!
My Boyfriend and I rented a room from Birgitt Steinberg August 6, 2016 – August 10, 2016 and it by far surpassed any hotel I’ve ever stayed in. Birgitt and her family were so welcoming and made my boyfriend and I feel at home. I am extremely picky when it comes to rooms and hotels and initially I was very scared but now if I ever return to California I will only book at this property. Not only does this place rent at a very decent price, it was in the middle of everything which we loved!!! Disneyland was quite a drive (35 minutes or so) but everything else was super close. While here we visited Madame Tussauds, Sunset Blvd, The Hollywood Walk of Fame, Universal Studios, Disneyland, Beverly Hills, Rodeo Drive, Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles, and Hollywood Blvd. This house has a pool and backyard area where you can swim and relax at your leisure. They provided us with breakfast every morning. There were pool towels and bath towels provided in our room and soap, conditioner, and shampoo in the bathroom. At night it gets a little warm so we had to open the windows for a little circulation, but we never had a problem with bugs or our safety, so we didn’t mind. When you move in they give you a key so that you can go and come as you please. They gave you your privacy, but are still available when you need them. Check-in and Check-out were extremely easy. I am so grateful for this experience, and I’m sure we’ll be returning. Thanks Birigitt!!
